Dr. White has been shaping smiles for decades, and his expertise has earned him recognition as one of the Top 1% Invisalign Providers in the world. He understands the needs of his patients, and treats them with the same respect, compassion, and honesty that he would expect for his own family.
Dr. Shadiya Hasan is originally from the sunshine state of Florida, where she grew up. After graduating as valedictorian of her high school class, she attended the University of Florida. There, Dr. Hasan earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Dr. John White is the first and only Diamond Plus Invisalign Provider in Northern Ohio and is in the top 1% of orthodontists worldwide. While most general practice dentists may dabble in Invisalign treatment as part of their services, Dr. White specializes in creating effective Invisalign treatment plans.
After graduating from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1977, Dr. White went directly into the USAF dental corps as a general dentist. He received his MSD in orthodontics from Case Western Reserve University in 1982 and remained in the USAF until 1988. During this time, Dr. White was a consultant to the Air Force surgeon general as well as an instructor at Malcolm Grow and David Grant USAF Medical Centers, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and Bethesda Naval Medical Center.
Dr. White has been in private practice in suburban Cleveland since 1988, and a faculty member (currently associate professor) at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine since 1990. He has been named Instructor of the Year three times.
He has also lectured nationally and internationally on many topics including CBCT imaging and intraoral 3D scanning for orthodontics, Invisalign treatment, and the integration of gnathologic and neuromuscular dental principles in orthodontics. He is a consultant to Sirona and 3M Unitek and a contributing editor for the journal Orthodontic Practice US.
Treatment time will vary based on the severity of your misalignments, but it could be anywhere from 4 to 30 months. Typically, Invisalign treatment takes the same amount of time as traditional braces, with an average treatment length of 18 months for a routine orthodontic case.

Staff is very friendly and courteous but Dr. White is odd amd does not have the best bed side manner. My child was never comfortable with him. She had braces installed by them when she was younger and needed them again, which we had done at the same office. They seemed much more interested in helping us the first go round and we've basically given up on her teeth and this office at this point. There is very little interaction with the dentist and the follow up is lacking. We are going to a different orthodontist for the remainder of her care and for braces on our son.

I had been told for a number of years that to correct my significant TMJ issues I would need orthodontics. Dr. White had the knowledge and experience that were necessary to do this (unlike a more local orthodontist I had worked with previously). He and his staff are professional and kind, and appointments run in a very timely manner. He is truly at the highest level of expertise with Invisalign. My TMJ has been addressed exactly as I had hoped and my teeth are straight as an added bonus. I could not be more grateful and couldn't have asked for a better experience and outcome.

Amazing work! Smiles by White did wonders for my teeth. I used to be so self-conscious about my smile that I never smiled in pictures. That all changed thanks to the successful Invisalign treatment by this fantastic team. I'm proud to smile whenever and wherever I can. The staff was excellent, helpful, and accommodating. From the first consult and throughout the entire process Smiles By White's services were exemplary. My first meeting was at the Northfield office. Dr. White was in his Rocky River office and we met virtually. That experience was new to me but it was excellent. He was able to effectively diagnose, advise and devise an Invisalign solution. The tech first scanned my teeth and uploaded them. Dr. White was able to see the scans immediately and he was able to begin designing the solution at that first meeting. He showed me what my smile would look like when he was done. I went back in a few weeks later to get my first set of slingers. The tech bonded little nubs on my teeth that are used by the aligners to push my teeth where they needed to go. The tech was terrific. She took time to explain the process in great detail and make sure I understood. They use a phone app for weekly monitoring of my progress. Once a week I would use the app and my phone's camera to scan my teeth. Then Dr. White would review and advise me when I could proceed to the next set of aligners. This went on until I reached the end of the aligners at about 6 months. Then I went back into the office for a scan and to discuss next steps. I was given another, shorter series of aligners. Maybe 12 weeks or so. Then another in office scan and my final 7 weeks of aligners. On each office visit I was listened to and great care was taken to make sure I was happy with the progress. All in all it took about 14 months. Throughout I was very happy with the service, the responsiveness and most importantly the result.

Great for braces. Friendly staff. Fyi - My daughter grinds her teeth so the retainers (post-braces) don't last. If your child got braces to fix a space in front teeth and they lose the retainers etc and a little space comes back, be cautious about resorting to bonding as recommended by Smiles by White. A dentist Smiles by White recommended bond my daughters teeth said they DO NOT recommend bonding young kids teeth. We are looking at braces again, somewhere else, where they will put on the in-place retainer on the upper teeth (we requested from Smiles by White but they said they couldn't do it).

Dr. White, in our brief encounter, was arrogant and unkind about the alignment of my teeth when I had visited his office. This was the second of my appointments in his office, following the installment of permanent retainers which had both failed in under two weeks. Professionalism and courtesy is important to me as a consumer, and his business was simply lacking both of these components during both of my appointments.

The staff has been friendly and very good at making my 7 year old daughter feel comfortable. She was nervous and excited at the same time about getting braces. The assistant explained everything well and put her at ease. Dr. White is so cool and has a great report with people. He explains the procedure(s) in great detail and doesn't overload the patient during their visit.
