Dr. Rizzo specializes in family and cosmetic dentistry. He attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry, where he attained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree. He remained in New Jersey to complete his residency at Hackensack University Medical Center before beginning his practice in 1994. He is currently the Assistant Director of Dental Services at Hackensack Meridian Health Services.
Dr. Rizzo is dedicated to providing premium care to his patients. He is aware of changes and advancements in both cosmetic and family dentistry and is committed to delivering state-of-the-art care to his patients. Dr. Rizzo is a proud member of the American Dental Association, as well as local professional organizations, such as the New Jersey Dental Association and the Bergen County Dental Society.
We are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each member of our treatment team is a Certified Dental Assistant and holds x-ray certification, and our office staff has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the latest in technological advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars, including OSHA and CPR classes.
Nuria Velez specializes in dental hygiene. She attended Bergen Community College where she attained her Associates degree in Applied Sciences. She is also CPR certified and has her Anesthesia Certificate. She joined our practice in 2012. She provides exceptional Dental Hygiene Care and educates patients on how to prevent dental problems by emphasizing the importance of proper brushing, good nutrition, and routine recall visits. She is accessible to patients via email on a daily basis to answer any questions that our patients may have regarding their oral hygiene. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Justyna is a registered dental hygienist, she obtained her degree from New York University College of Dentistry and she has been with our practice for over 10 years. Justynas other degrees include B.A in History and minor in Nutrition from William Paterson University. She holds anesthesia license, CDA certification and is CPR certified. She provides exceptional dental hygiene care and educates each patient on oral hygiene while focusing on individual needs. In free time Justyna enjoys running and working out, shes also fluent in English and Polish.
Barbara is our office manager. She has a BS in Finance which she attained at Siena College in Loudonville NY. Prior to taking time off to raise her four children she spent 8 years in pharmaceutical sales. Barbara joined the staff at Dr. Rizzos in April of 2014. She is caring and patient. She takes her time to make sure each patient receives all the proper information regarding their treatment and ensures that each patient clearly understands it. She establishes a unique relationship with each patient allowing them to feel as comfortable as possible when coming into our office.
Barbara is a caring and talented assistant. She has been with our practice since 2013. She works very hard to make all patient feels comfortable and happy with their visits. She is currently working towards her CDA. Barbara is fluent in English and Polish.
Elizabeth is an exceptional assistant. She is currently working towards her RDA. She has 10 years experience assisting in dentistry. She is very knowledgeable and patient. Elisabeth is also fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Jessica attended Berkeley College and received an Associates Degree in Business Administration. She has been working in the dental field since 2002 and is experienced in working with General dentists as well as Orthodontists. Jessica speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys learning new things.

Our office is proud to use the Velscope oral cancer screening system, which is used to detect oral cancer during its earliest stages when it otherwise goes unnoticed. The screening is brief, non-invasive and uses no rinse or dyes, and it could help save a life.

I spoke with Cindy last week to confirm all the insurance information. This past Friday I left a message with the answering service to schedule an appointment for my wife and I. When I didn't hear back, I called the next day as office was open. Spoke with Barbara who said she was with a patient. I said no worries, here's my name and number - She said when she was done she would call me back. Well no call back. So I emailed and no reply. I was told that Dr. Rizzo gets the emails. I called again earlier today and the woman that I spoke with -another Barbara she said had no idea about my calling and leaving messages etc. This was very disappointing and a really bad first impression. All the google reviews are great and I'm quite confident that Dr Rizzo is an outstanding dentist. Although I was told I couldn't get in until November 14 and with a Dr. Ryan not Rizzo. Is Dr. Ryan even on the website with his credentials etc? Customer service matters even in dentistry and this was not a good experience. I'll take my teeth and $ elsewhere. Same with my wife.

I had to get all 4 corners of my molars worked on. 1 cavity and replace 3 fillings. Justina was very informative and cleaned my teeth like never before. Dr. Ryan was super nice and informative and made my 4 visits as comfortable as possible. The other staff was great as well. Thank you all for your help!

Excellent experience in Dr. Rizzo's office, everybody is super nice and helpful. I went for a root canal and at the beginning I was afraid of the pain but it was very smooth experience. I would definitely come back.
