Dr. Myles saw how hard his father worked in order to provide for the family, but being a product of the depression, everything was about getting the things you needed, not wanted. Helping those less fortunate was never something that was instilled in him. When you dont know where your next meal is coming from, you had to be concerned only for yourself, as it was for his parents in the 1920s and 1930s. It was for this reason that he knew he had to become successful so he could give back and help others less fortunate.
Dr. Myles attended SUNY at Binghamton and graduated in 1986 with a degree in biology. He then attended Georgetown Dental School, graduating in 1990. Dr. Myles went on to complete the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies curriculum that included over 14 hands-on courses that focused on full-mouth reconstructions and complex makeovers. In addition, he is certified in sedation dentistry and sleep apnea therapy. He is a member of numerous dental organizations, including the International Association of Comprehensive Aesthetics and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. As a member of these organizations, Dr. Myles has proved his dedication to providing extensive cosmetic dental care as well as patient comfort.
The growth of his dental practice has allowed Dr. Myles to give back to the community through organizations like The Susan G. Komen cancer foundation, The Wounded Warrior Project, and Dentistry From the Heart, an organization where he provides free dental care for the underprivileged in Northern Virginia. He believes that giving back is the most gratifying thing you can do for someone.
Dr. Myles and his wife Renate live in Oakton with their three children, Alyssa, Jordan, and Aidan, as well as Tucker (a bearded-collie) and Maggie and Stewie (two beautiful cats). Although none of them aspire to follow in their dads footsteps, they are proud to say that he is their dentist in Reston! In his spare time, Dr. Myles loves to read, watch movies, challenge his mind, and exercise. Every day, he starts by being thankful and realizing that we are all here to make a difference.
Adrianna has had the pleasure of being part of the Smiles by Myles team for 3 years. After graduating from dental assisting school in 2011, she realized dentistry is her passion, does not see herself doing anything else, and 8 years later, she is still excited to continue learning and using her skills to help patients day after day. Adrianna is certified in DOCS oral sedation, advanced cardiac life support, and trained in a wide variety of full mouth reconstruction procedures. She specializes in patient comfort and care and loves building special relationships with each of her patients. When Adrianna is not in the office helping Dr. Myles make beautiful, healthy smiles, she enjoys shopping, rock climbing, and reading.
Alex is a dental hygienist with a Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene. She is originally from Pottsville, Pennsylvania, and attended the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Alex graduated with an Associates Degree in 2016 and completed her Bachelors Degree in 2017. Alex has been a member of the team for over 2 years, with 3 years of experience in the dental field. Alex is passionate about caring for her patients oral health through gentle care and education. She strives to provide the best care possible in a warm and comfortable environment. Outside of hygiene, Alex enjoys soccer, martial arts, and being outdoors.
Giselle is the newest addition to our team! She was born and raised in Virginia. She has been in the dentistry field for over a year and previously worked for a non-profit organization. Her kind and bubbly personality will be the first face you see when walking through our doors. She strives to make your visit to our dental office the most pleasant one youve ever had! During her free time, she enjoys being outdoors with her two boys. Her favorite time of the year is summer and she loves traveling, new culinary experiences, and live entertainment.
