Dr. Sofia Kavakoglou, who goes by Dr. Sofia, is a Bronx native of Greek descent. Dr. Sofia has been involved in the dental field for over 20 years, as she started assisting a dentist in high school. Motivated by her own mothers traumatic dental experiences, she decided to pursue dentistry in order to offer genuine and gentle care to her patients.
Dr. Sofia attended New York University, where she majored in metropolitan studies and minored in mathematics. She received her dental degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine in Los Angeles, California, in 2015. Dr. Sofia returned to New York, completing a residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. She has since worked as an associate dentist in many private practices as well as offered mobile dental care to kids in NYC schools with Smile New York Outreach.
Dr. Sofia is committed to lifetime learning in the field in order to offer the utmost care to her patients. An artist at heart, she has a keen eye for aesthetics and strives to make each smile uniquely beautiful. She practices by the motto Honesty is the best policy and offers only the most beneficial treatment advice and options to her patients.

Dr. Sofia is excellent! My family and I needed to change dentist and this was the best decision we made. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The service is A+!

I came to New York for seasonal work and found Dr. Kavakoglou for a cleaning. I've lived abroad, and in Oregon, Las Vegas, Boston, SLC and Texas, yet she is the best dentist I've ever been to! Sweet, honest, not money-hungry, down-to-earth, detailed, accommodating, hard working, experienced and does it herself with a smile. Recommend 100%

Dr. Sofia is the best Dentist I had in my 68 years. Few weeks ago one of my front teeth broke. It looked terrible. A relative of mine recommended Dr. Sofia. Within one hour, she fixed my broken tooth and touched up on the one right next to it. Both teeth look perfect! This Dentist has hands like feathers. She is very tune to her patients. I felt very comfortable the entire time. The office is spotless. Her staff are outstanding. If you lucky enough you would have Dr. Sofia as your Dentist! I feel blessed that I have found Her!

Dr Sofia is the most thorough dentist I have ever experienced. Her staff is very friendly and accommodating. Dr Sofia takes the time to explain procedures and expectations and her dental work is second to none. She makes you feel at ease, especially if your nervous about the trip to the dentist. I have had no complications arise from my procedures done....so if your looking for a dentist to get it done right the first time..... look no further then Smiles by Dr. Sofia.

Dr. Sofia is absolutely wonderful! I had been looking for a new dentist, for the longest time & was not satisfied. Dr. Sofia is a caring & knowledgeable professional; she took the time to explain procedures and the best course of treatment for my dental needs. What impressed me most, besides her excellent skills, was the time she took to perform the work; she did not rush through my treatment; she was gentle & proficient. Aside from the professionalism, Dr. Sofia's office is beautiful, cherry/bright & super clean. Her staff, friendly & professional. Dr. Sofia it is a best ever dentist of NY State!!! The clinic is brand new and very clean. The treatment makes me feel amazing, like never before in a dentist chair. My son and I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Sofia on Monday. She was incredibly thorough and took time to explain everything to us. The office staff was wonderful and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. The office is immaculate! Look forward to seeing Dr. Sofia and her staff again soon.

Dr. Sofia was my dentist at a Hartsdale practice when she decided to pursue own practice. Although the other dentist at the Hartsdale office were really good, they weren't Dr. Sofia. She's the best in her field. I have since tracked her practice in Yonkers and I'm very pleased. If you want the best dentist, I assure you that you'll be completely satisfied. And you won't have to go looking for an excellent dentist when she right on Central Ave. in Yonkers. And let's not forget Dr. Sofia's assistance, Shirley and her receptionist, Diana who are very pleasant. The 3 of them make a great team.

I have know Dr. Sofia for decades. You will not find a better dentist in Westchester. She is professional, caring, and trustworthy. Dr. Sofia takes an interest in her patients, listens to your concerns and questions, and makes sure you are aware of all the steps involved in your care. Her new office is exceptionally clean and modern, and her staff is so kind. She is a true gem and I am so happy that she is taking care of my family's dental needs, small and large!

The staff is wonderful! I went in slightly nervous but all that went away once I walked through the door and met Diana, Shirley and of course Dr.Sofia. The office is clean, warm and inviting just like the staff. Dr Sofia listens to all your concerns, questions and is helpful providing tips and advice for your dental health. I been to this office , the doctor super nice and professional, and such helpful doctors. She took me right away I called , I was in pain . She one of the best doctors in the Yonkers I would recommend her . She on the top of her patients. And the receptionist there so nice as well . I will come back there again when I need to do my dental exam off course. Thank you DR Sofia .

I was greeted by Diana right away and she helped me with all the paperwork and made it simple for me. Shirley was very friendly and made me feel comfortable with all procedures. Dr. Sofia gave me a complete exam to make sure my teeth are fine using the most advanced technology. She was very patient listening to all my concerns with my teeth. Dr. Sofia treated me very carefully to avoid any pain. I felt very comfortable with her all the time. She discovered a cavity in a very early stage. After being treated by her, I consider Dr. Sofia the smartest and most professional dentist I have met and I recommend her to all my friends and family!

Dr K and this practice are superb. The office is modern, very clean, and welcoming. All the equipment is clean and looks new. The staff are very warm, kind, and competent. Dr K is an excellent dentist who takes time with each patient (our entire family goes to her) and makes sure each patient understands everything about their dental health. Can't recommend enough!
