Dr. Schraw is originally from West Columbia, South Carolina and has been fascinated with teeth since she was 3 years old.Dr. Schraw earned a B.S. in Biology from M.U.S.C. College of Dental Medicine in Charleston.
After graduating from M.U.S.C. in 2002, Dr. Schraw worked as an associate for the next three years. She came to the realization that anxiety and fear of going to the dentist play a large role in most patients experience and that dental treatment in their past was a primary reason for patient dis-satisfaction and anxiety.This motivated her to open her own practice, Smiles By Design, in the Baxter Village community in Fort Mill in August 2005.
Her mission for each patient is to create a gentle, positive dental experience. She does this by using the latest in dental technology to reduce patients time spent in the dental chair and make treatment as simple and non-invasive as possible.
Dr. Schraw has completed many continuing education courses with leaders in both the dental and facial esthetics fields so she can treat and enhance not only teeth, but can give her patients the total facial esthetics and complete smiles that they want and ask for. She now serves as a faculty member, lead trainer and private consultantfor the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. Dr. Schraw continually stays abreast of the latest techniques, materials, and technology.

I have been fascinated by teeth since I was 3 years old. My mom likes to tell about when I saw my grandfather remove his dentures at that age and then she found me in front of the bathroom mirror 30 minutes later, frustrated because I couldnt remove my teeth as my grandfather had!
On a more serious note, I made the decision to go into dentistry when I realized the impact I could have on individuals as a whole, instead of specializing on cause and effect for a particular body or organ or system. Many diseases show up in the mouth before they manifest in other parts of the body. If these causes (for example, bacteria and viruses) are not found and treated accordingly, they get into the bloodstream and can lead to heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, cancers, etc.
My staff and I take pride on using the latest in technology to help us take thorough diagnostic records as well as educating our patients as to what is going on in their mouths, why its happening, and what they can do to stay healthy.

We switched for various reasons. One of which is when I sat for a long time after novocaine and felt everything during my filling . I now have to have several fillings that aren't hardly old at all replaced by another physician bc it f how they were done.

Dr. Bri Schraw and her team truly took care of me and my family. She was super knowledgeable and friendly. She took the time to answer all of my questions and the esthetic outcomes of my botox treatment was perfect! I highly recommend this office!!

I've always had great results with this dental group but today was exceptional. You're greeted with big smiles and and the feeling of family. Todays cleaning experience was the best ever. I don't know of any other cleaning I've had that was so thorough and felt so good afterwards. My teeth were brighter than ever before. A++++

I was called to reschedule an appointment because there was not going to be a dentist in the day I was originally scheduled. That was fine and I was able to get work off for the new appointment. I was then sent a text the same day of the appt saying that they "were ahead of achedule" and I could come earlier so Igot there 30 minutes early and had the cleaning done and was then told the dentist left for the day so she would not be doing an exam. Had I known this beforehand, I would have rescheduled (again) because I really needed a tooth checked. The lack of transparency and trying to put it on "being ahead of schedule" instead of actually expressing the issue is highly unprofessional. Deva was fantastic though. She could tell I was upset by the news (she didn't even know herself that the dentist left until after the cleaning). She took time to answer my questions and was very sweet.

This last visit was one of my more positive ones at this particular dental practice. The hygienist, Anita, was exceptional and professional. My last one unfortunately had a bit of a chip on her shoulder. I would recommend this hygienist and dentist to my friends
