Dr. Hermanson has been the Official Dentist of Miss Minnesota USA since 2003, and he has worked with other contestants such as Miss Wyoming, Miss Wisconsin, Miss South Dakota and Miss North Dakota. He also serves as the dentist for some of the local sports figures and was among the first general dentists in Minnesota to become certified in sedation dentistry. His expertise and influence are far-reaching.
Education Dr. Hermanson received an undergraduate degree in biology from St. Johns University in Collegeville, Minnesota, and a dental degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He also completed Level II in post-graduate esthetic dentistry and was among the first nine dentists (out of 2,500) to earn the Certificate of Achievement for Continuing Education at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where he has served as a visiting instructor and lecturer.
Dr. Miller received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the U of M School of Dentistry. He has two children, Nathan & Caity, enjoys golf, tennis & water sports. Attends Hosanna Lutheran in Lakeville, MN & is active in Kingdom Expansion (Mission Trips) & the prayer team.
Sheldon is our dental hygienist! He earned an associate degree in dental hygiene from Rochester Community and Technical College in 1994 and later received his bachelors degree in science of dental hygiene in May of 2015. He is the founder and president of Smiles Around Minnesota, a nonprofit that helps underserved, underinsured and non-insured residents of Minnesota gain dental hygiene care.
When talking about dentistry, Sheldon explains, Dental hygiene is all about whole body health promotion, from control of chronic inflammation to nutrition, and a communication with people to promote positive lifestyles. I was going to be an elementary education teacher, but instead I am able to teach people of all ages how to live their best life.
Sheldon is married to his best friend and extraordinary wife, Kristy, and together they have three fun and talented children: Dylan, Ireland and Nolan. His hobbies include traveling with his family around the United States to historical sites; going to theme parks, national and state parks; as well as hiking and playing sports; and playing board games, card games and video games. He also enjoys playing fantasy football and fantasy baseball when not playing the real thing, doing weightlifting training, running, watching movies, studying history and learning about nutritional and holistic health.
She has three children and six grandchildren to keep her busy. In her remaining time, she enjoys biking, gardening, scrapbooking and spending time with friends and family. She entered the dental profession because she has a great joy in helping to create smiles that boost patients confidence and self-esteem.
She has her bachelors from the University of Minnesota, is certified in computer programming and is a licensed massage therapist. She is an avid tennis player and biker and loves dentistry because theres always more to learn.

Dr. Hermanson came highly recommended to me by my orthodontist for doing the most esthetic dentistry available in the twin cities, and for good reason! He was very meticulous with making sure my crown was done properly, with the correct shade and form, and was happy to address any concerns I had. Dr. Hermanson has a great eye for esthetics but also listened to my own concerns and goals. He is an expert at all he does! His staff are also very friendly and talented, I cannot speak highly enough. I will always highly recommend them!

They are always friendly and accommodating. I have never been dissatisfied with the services I've received. Plus, they have helped me in the past with some tricky military insurance issues and I couldn't be more thankful. If you are searching for an honest dentist experience, give them a try.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hermanson's for over 20 years. I trust him immensely, with his treatment plans. All of my procedures have been completely pain free. I have had cavities filled, root canals, and even a dental implant done. None of his work has gone bad. I can't recommend him enough!!

I would recommend anyone to go here. The staff are able to work with you and really educate and give great tips on how to take care of your teeth. They do amazing job cleaning and create smiles by design literally.

Great service by the individuals that make up Smiles. The ladies at the front are very friendly and knowledgeable, they are great resources for access to all and any of your questions or concerns. The dental hygienist are very professional and offer a tremendous amount of care. The hygienist provide a great deal of information to help you achieve your dental goals. Sheldon is one of a kind. Dr. Hermanson is smart, professional, and a funny individual. I judge an owner by their staff, and this staff reflects a strong commitment to providing their clients with exceptional results that'll leave you smiling afterwards.
