In order to continually improve and better serve his patients, Dr. Hallissey is dedicated to continuing education and keeping up to date with the latest techniques and technologies available. After receiving his DMD from the University of Connecticut in 2006, Dr. Hallissey worked with all aspects of dentistry, including the restoration and placement of implants at the Penobscot Community Health Center in Bangor, Maine. He also taught implant placement, bone and soft tissue grafting, and surgical extractions at the Penobscot Community Health Center General Practice Residency, where he served as the Director of Clinical Services. He has also held adjunct faculty positions with A.T. Stills in Arizona, Boston University, University of Iowa, University of North Carolina, and Tufts University. He has also completed the MAXI Course through the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Hallissey is originally from Machias, Maine. In August of 2011, he moved to Portsmouth, New Hampshire to enter private practice. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys gourmet cooking with his wife, Alexis. In the winter, Dr. Hallissey can be found indoors playing volleyball and hockey.

Smiles has been taking excellent care of my teeth! The dentists & hygienists are extemely knowledgeable! The staff are super friendly! I love the privacy, the comfort, their expertise in preventing decay.

Started out pretty good. Then all the changes in new personal. I get it in this day and age hard to find a good staff. Too many changes and was not satisfied with service provided.

Front desk staff (black girl with short hair) has zero customer service skills, doesn't know how to talk to people .. and was unable to get my husband in for a cleaning even though there was a two hour time window since they cancelled my appointment without telling me because it went unconfirmed and was unable to see me. Maybe I would have been more understanding had the right message got delivered, but y'all better get rid of that girl and put someone in with customer service skills before you lose more patients. We won't be back and won't refer anyone here.

I recently made the switch to Smiles of Goose Creek, in hopes to find a friendly atmosphere, as dental anxiety has always been a huge issue for me. I had a cleaning and was referred to an endodontist for further work. My cleaning, and first visit was wonderful, the staff was great and very friendly. I called the day before my appointment for my procedure with my endodontist, in reference to anxiety meds. Unfortunately, my first phone call with Mandy was very unprofessional. She was very rude. And made the whole call uncomfortable. I called back a few hours later, due to not hearing anything back, and I spoke with another women who was very pleasant and helpful. I then received a phone call back from Mandy, informing me they sent in the medication. When I asked for further instructions, she was still rude, and non educated. The medication I was sent in, is controlled; and I only wanted to make sure I was doing everything correctly. The office staff is wonderful, but I will say both of my phone calls with Mandy were very unpleasant and unprofessional.

I have been making appointments with this office since may. Every time it gets closer to the appointment, they call me to reschedule. The appointment I'm supposed to have is on Monday 9/12 and I received a horrendous voicemail on 9/9 saying if I don't call before 1pm to confirm my appointment, they cannot guarantee that I'll still have an appointment. I don't take my break until after 1pm for me to call them so I guess I don't have an appointment. Horrible. If you want to waste months of your time trying to be seen here, this is the place to book.

If I could give this place zero stars I would! When I showed up for my appointment they could not see me because I "didn't confirm my appointment". They gave it to someone else. I would have gladly confirmed if I would have known I had to. I took off work early, showed up to my appointment when it was scheduled, and they wasted my time

Everyone, from clerical staff to doctors, was amazing. They put me at ease and were so pleasant. It's hard to imagine a trip to a dentist being enjoyable, but this trip really was. Smiles will be my dental service provider for a long time!

I'm a new patient and I am very impressed with the bright clean relaxed atmosphere of the office. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr Sue was amazing and took her time to explain my options and ask for my input to put together a plan for my treatment. The most relaxed visit to the dentist ever! Highly recommend!

I can't begin to say enough about the staff at smiles at goose creak. From my first phone call to my procedure they were all so kind, understanding, non judgmental and very professional. During my procedure it was fast and painless. I am so satisfied with the care I was given and highly recommend them for any dental needs you may have.

Paid to have the cavity filled for my son. Another dental office said there was still decay. Reschedule with Smiles to get this resolved but the work was not done.
