My daughter had her appointment on the 31st for a fill and three days later her mouth is still swollen and tear on the lips. This is not normal. I don't see my kid having this every time she gets a fill this is our last time we are going to smile kid in Tacoma. The dentist was young and non-experience is all bad all the way around.

Absolutely the worst at customer service front office staff just makes appointments without contacting the dentist. The assistant that helped us was extremely rude while I tried to vent she cut me off. Of course the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing needless to say we got a new dentist today. The worst place ever Dr. Brian should've sold it to someone else... Because this place has gone downhill after 15 years I'm done

This company used to be good. I had gone here with my kids for 12 years and we all loved the employees there. But we are so disappointed that over the last 3 years they have changed for the worse. I hate leaving a bad review but I want to look out for other parents. The staff here no longer cares about the kids. Unlike before, the kids have become numbers. They have a new policy that allows them to cancel appointments without notice if you are at work and you miss their phone call. This cancelation is regardless of your attendance record. When asked about this policy, the manager said they justify this so they can push in more numbers and get through their "lists." Clients aren't people, they are just a number. They forbid parents from being with their kids while getting special treatments. This allows for malpractice on a child who can not articulate or understand how to share what happened to them during the procedure and it prevents parents from protecting their children. Families just aren't the focus of their practice. We sat there listening to another child screaming and watched as they rolled their eyes. Cristal is the manager there. She is unprofessional as she interrupts clients and doesn't listen to concerns. I listened as she said that an individual client isn't as important as getting through the numbers. I'm so disappointed that we will have to change providers to find someone who cares about the patient.

I continue at every appointment to see or experience issues with either the front desk or dental assisting staff. The assisting staff continue to be extremely unprofessional using foul language even using the N-word in front of my child. Front office does not communicate with the back when necessary. In the past I have left a voicemail for the office manager without receiving any follow up call. Very frustrating to witness and experience such lack of care and integrity.

My child is in pain due to the refill they put. It was their initial fault that they falsely filled my daughter's teeth, then we have to reschedule to refills the holes they made. When we check in they say they'll put laughing gas, and numbness. The purpose is to help the child not feeling the pain, but they didn't and my daughter is hurt during the operation. All they did was telling the child to deal with it. They irresponsible and not friendly, nor consider that the operation they did is on a child!!! My child is currently in pain, and couldn't not eat well! I would not recommend this place for anyone children.

Smile 4 kids is the only place I will take my children for their dental needs. The staff is very friendly and super professional with my children. They are very insightful to what a 5 year old needs when they are feeling very anxious and nervous. The open room are very nice and clean.

While waiting for our appointment, my dentist anxious child and I had to listen to a child scream and cry while getting g an extraction. This child was then escorted to wait in the waiting room, still crying and bleeding and kept almost passing out. This on its own seems like poor care, and it made my daughter more anxious. I wanted to walk out then but was told we'd be charged the late cancellation fee. Since it was our first visit they wanted X-rays. My daughters mouth is still too small yet they were trying to force it even though my daughter was crying in pain. I had to interject and have them stop. The cleaning was ok. The dentist tried to tell me she had decay and cavities with no X-rays and she's always had perfect teeth. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE all around. (Also note I ended up taking her to my dentist where they did the panoramic X-ray after quickly seeing her mouth is too small for the regular X-rays, and she has no decay or cavities forming).

When you create a staff without judgements, who are focused on a positive experience, who love and chose their profession not just because of the logistics but also because of a passion....you have created an amazing and unforgettable establishment! We felt like family. Today, I visited Smiles For Kids Union Avenue!! Amazing staff is not even doing them justice...they are beyond fabulous!! We were going in for an emergency visit. Prior to going in she was outside the office with other kids waiting to be called. A beautiful woman and her children tried to calm my daughter!! They were AMAZING!! My girl is TERRIFIED of the dentist.. like level 10 horrified!! She was ready to run!! We even had my daughter's caregiver with us who was doing whatever she could to help! But my kiddo was scared! Rosie came out as well as Brianna to get us back to "the chair" they immediately saw there was fear in my daughter's eyes. My daughter is 8 and is Autistic as well as has sensory processing disorder. They completely stepped in and like magic..we got back and she was right next to the dental chair (this has never happened)! The amazing mom that was outside was to our right (thank you soo much if you are reading) and two kids to our left. Brianna quickly grabbed my daughter's princesses and dove in...completely!! My daughter may not have sat in the exam chair but they were trying and soooo close. Nobody has EVER got her that far ..we will remember this always.. During this time, my daughter was asking for no tvs. I explained that the other televisions were for the other kiddos to look up at during treatment. However, the most AMAZING thing happened!!!! Brianna jumped into action and EVERYONE began supporting my daughter (not expected to be clear)! Other kids allowing their tvs off..volunteering to go without and Brianna and Rosie like genies making it a magical experience!! Brianna playing mermaids as Rosie brought the dentist to speed!! I told Brianna she's amazing and man Rosie had us thinking she was the dentist with all her knowledge!!You girls rock!! Thank you sooo much! Then the most amazing dentist, Dr. Pally, came in and I was even more shocked as to her level of COMPLETE KNOWLEDGE of my daughter's behavior and how to get her through all this!! I am still crying!! Even the dentist explained to the others why it's hard for kiddos with special needs and without! She wasn't just knowledgeable..I could tell she has educated herself beyond basic knowledge and also she really brings everyone together. Dr. Pally, you are amazing and I cannot thank you enough! We are going through some tough times as humans right now. Illness, pandemics, violence and after witnessing the pandemic war we pray for Ukraine and Russia as we learn of the devastating amount of lives being lost.. However, today we were all different. Different sizes, different emotions, different ages, different genders, different ethnicities and even beliefs. And for those moments everyone united together for the love of one child...my daughter!! We didn't just get an oral exam but a lesson in human nature! Standing together makes the impossible possible!! For some, it takes a lifetime to learn that lesson. If you take your kiddo to Smiles 4 Kids...it takes a visit to a Dentist!!!

I've been coming here with my kids for years and they are always friendly, professional and fast. My kids have been so well taken care of here that they have no fear of going to the dentist.

Do not take your kids here. I have 2 children. We have been to 3 different dentists over the years and this was was by far the worst. We have had our appointments canceled at the last minute over and over. This happened so many times that the manager said she wanted to talk to me in person to apologize when I came in. However, we happened to be there at the same time a rep for a company came in with a caddy full of food for the office so the manager told the front desk to just do whatever I was asking them to because she was busy with the rep. Super rude. My oldest was put under to have 6 caps put on his teeth but when he came out they had put 7 on. They were so rough during the procedure that he had a huge painful lump on his lip for days and when I called to ask about it they said it was normal. No. It's not. When my 6 year old went in to get fillings(after 4 canceled appointments) they shoved a giant plastic thing in his mouth so hard his lip cracked and started bleeding. The instrument clearly did not fit, he couldn't breath, he started crying. I had to yell at them twice to stop and then they said they would have to reschedule with full anesthesia and I would not be allowed in the room. After seeing what they did when I was in the room there is no way I'd let them near my unconscious child without me present! And lastly, after letting them know that I would not be bringing my kids back they scheduled an appointment for them anyway so I got a text and an email reminding me of an appointment. That I never made. Shady. Negligent. Dirty office. Rude front desk staff.

Didn't notify me that my appointment was cancelled cause of the weather. In fact I got a notification saying "see you soon," I understand it's most likely auto generated but a lady had just called me a day before to confirm. The new owners really don't care about the patients, or at least the employees working there don't.

My daughter was early for her appointment and still had to wait for 2 other patients that were 15 mins late to be seen in front of her.

We have been using this dentist office for my kids for about the past 7 years and we really love it. It's a pretty quick check in and wait and the employees are all very professional and nice. They always treat my kids good and they even have TVs on the ceilings for the kids to watch cartoons etc while they get their dental work done . Definitely recommend this place
