Was trying to get my child seen by a dentist fairly quickly cause it's been while since my kiddo been seen by a dentist, called smiles 4 kids got on the books for that day showed up at check in time (ON TIME) and almost 45 mins to an hour later still Waiting in the waiting room.... they even make you sign a waiver saying if your not ONTIME then they can reschedule you NOT cool...

They are always super nice and paitent with my two daughters who are three and five. They take their time to try their best to make sure my daughter's are comfortable and not scared and my oldest is always excited to go back. Would definitely reccommend.

I've waited several months before writing a review just to see if our experiences change and it'll be a long one. I assume the difference in reviews comes from what insurance people have/which dentist they see. I do agree with others who said the front desk team seems cold and like they don't want to be there. I hate small talk, so I'm not offended, just haven't experienced that before. Off the bat, we had an issue with communication with the front desk/the person who handles the insurance part at the office. I asked several times on the phone and in person before our first appointment if the dentist we wanted to see is in network with our insurance and they reassured me several times by saying "yeah, it should be fine". I had a feeling that meant it wouldn't be as I soon found out when our insurance started sending us checks to pay the dentist, because lo and behold he was not in network. Eventually I found out they were working to get him in with the insurance, but they didn't communicate this to me until I asked about it for the 10th time and in general won't offer to give you the treatment plan and estimates, which was a stark difference to my own dentist. First appointment was stressful. The older female dentist didn't like the fact that I asked questions and refused things we aren't comfortable with. Suggested we do general anesthesia and knock out several things. I've never heard of such a thing in my life. And our 5yo and 8yo have zero issues holding still with just laughing gas, which they're used to from their previous dentist. The only reason I didn't immediately walk out and never return was when the dental assistant offered to get the dr who will actually be treating our child, to talk about any concerns I had. Dr Sun was friendly and happily answered all of my questions and not helped me make an informed decision but disagreed with the other Dr's findings. He makes sure to know his patients' names and treatment plan, and asks about any other concerns we may have. We've since seen the female dentist a couple more times (I wasn't aware we'd see whoever is available but have since requested to only see Dr Sun or Dr King), and our experience and opinion haven't changed. She's condescending to parents who ask questions, question her plan or choose to refuse certain options. Didn't even say bye the last time we met after I politely declined the prescription fluoride toothpaste she was trying to sell us despite not finding a single new cavity in my daughter's teeth. I can tell this is the same dr who puts kids under to pull loose teeth and put on crowns unnecessarily and without discussion. We just saw Dr King for the first time for treatment and he was great with my 5yo, chatted and explained everything to him, and my 5yo said it went well. Can't say much else since he's not our primary, but he's very friendly and clearly good with kids. The hygienists have been quiet but most of them were friendly and not cold. It's not easy finding a dentist who helps you make informed decisions as a parent or patient, and Dr Sun is definitely one of them, so we'll keep coming back as long as he's there.

My Grandson's have been going to Smiles for Kids since 2016, when they were still located on Sleater Kinney. We have never had any problems. The only minor complaint I have is the turn around of Dentist. I'm sure reasoning is partly due to being State Dental Care. I just wish someone would stick around for awhile!

They are awesome. Got my kids in together even though their appointments were 3 hours apart and they were so nice when my son was nervous.

Great kids dentist. They do a good job of keeping it upbeat and light, minimizing the stress of the experience on the kids, even during more intensive procedures like fillings. My daughter consistently comes out in a decent mood and looks forward to the prizes at the end.

*Olympia location* The two stars go to the dentist. He is always patient. But the front desk staff who are the face of the company are rude. Never a smile or a "have a nice day!" They clearly do not want to be working there. Even the assistants look like they have better things to do. We feel like a burden everytime we come in. We will be finding a new dentist.

We've lived in Lacey/Olympia WA area for almost 10yrs. My kids have been going to Smiles for Kids the entire time, way before they switched locations. My daughter just turned 14 this yr. She has been diagnosed with anxiety/depression, as well as ADHD, all at a very young age. As if facing those challenges alone over the years hasn't been enough, today by far tops it all!! I can honestly and full heartedly say that today, my daughter's dental hygienist did NOT treat/care for her with dignity and respect!! It has taken me the entire day to calm down and come to my senses to post this! I truly hope this reaches someone who is powerful enough to look into the visit we had today, 08/09/2022. Dr. Ashraf continued to go back and fourth with me about my child's mental disorder(s), as if my daughter wasn't even sitting there. Although my daughter chooses not to take any medications to treat her diagnosis, we were continuously questioned about the medication(s) she had been prescribed. I honestly felt harrassed and threatened that we were going to need to be rescheduled because of whatever the dental hygienist was going through. It gets worse. After the medication wore off, and my daughter came back to her senses, she informed me of something she remembered. My daughter stated that the dental assistant was kind enough to hold her hand during the procedure, but when she tried to get him to hold both of her hands, as she grew scared and anxious, she then recalls the dental hygienist (Dr. Ashraf) yelling at her say "Quit moving around, do you understand?!". I apologize for not remembering his name, but the young asian male dental assistant who was present during our visit can tell you for himself! It was the most traumatizing experience we have ever had there. I absolutely had to put in a transfer of medical records request! I am also forwarding this to the medical board, fyi. DO NOT LET YOUR KIDS SEE DR. ASHRAF!!!!!

The dental office is nice! The staff are very friendly! The only complaint I would have is the wait was long. We arrived 30 minutes early and five appointments were taken before we were called five minutes after our scheduled appointment which wasn't too bad.

Loved this place until you drive an hour to get to appt and they tell you your appointment was 30 mins ago, when the confirmation text says another time. They didn't even try to make it work, even though it's a bad on THEIR end. Very disappointed. 5 stars has now turned 1 star because little hiccups have happened. I got a call for an appointment I don't remember making, but thought maybe I forgot I made one-drove an hour to get there and they asked," why are you here?" I said " you told me my son had an appointment"... then they say oh that's weird and he's not on the system for one.... So AGAIN this place is kinda a mess. On top of both times, they were very unapologetic and made me feel like it was my fault. FIX YOUR SYSTEM!!

Our first time being their, my boy is almost 3 years old. Front desk was okay. The dentist assistant and dentist were both great! The assistant was so sweet and gentle with my boy I appreciated her so so much! She also spoke Spanish which was great! Wish I got her name, I will next visit.

I will call this "tears for children"and parents. Few weeks ago, I was looking at my third child and wondering that she has the most healthy teeth, comparing to my previous children, and decided to give her a check up(because of one little spot,so it will not cause her trouble). We were told that they can fix it only with some kind of gas anesthesia and that we will have to wait few months, until the anesthesiologist is available. Me and my husband were against such procedure but we trust the team, since they graduate special school and thought they know what they are doing. In few days we got a phone call that they can get us (in the morning) at 4:45. We agreed. At 8.:30 , when my husband brought my little 5 year old daughter home,i was shoooked! They pulled both her front teeth, pulled the little molar and the other 7 molars got crowns. What are you doing stuff? Why? We got at this place just because of the Andreea Eslava, she was a nice person and dentist. But now ... Be careful parents what you choose.

They require mask...no one can really confuse a dentist with a doctor. Good luck working inside someone's Covid hole, I'm sure you are safe
