I've had 2 children get braces from SmileHaus orthodontist and had nothing but positive experiences. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. They are always available to answer questions and very accommodating. Plus, they have a flexible payment plan that helps make the procedures affordable, especially for those that don't have insurance that covers orthodontics. Most importantly my kids teeth look great after the braces came off.

Dr Kayla Thompson's office was very profiessilnal and friendly. I was greeted immediately as I walked through the door and the staff kept great communication as I waited to be seen. I was a new patient from out of town, and my first visit with her was seamless! She was incredibly nice and had me in and out the office fast! Thank you so much Dr. Thompson, see you next time and Im glad you were recommended to me!

I came to SmileHaus to receive braces as an adult. Screening with Dr Thompson went smooth and I decided to go with her office. I wish I had not. On the pros: my teeth are straighter than when I came in. On the cons: (1) office staff made a series of elementary mistakes, (2) the treatment took was not as effective as advertised, and (3) two years later I am dealing with a visibly shifted tooth, and SmileHaus isn't going to help fix it. I'll try to provide some detail to each one of my grievances (1) On my first visit I was to get both top and bottom braces installed. Only on arrival was I informed by the front desk staff that they did not have all the necessary components and could only install one half of the braces; I would have to come back for another visit to get the other half installed. This isn't the end of the world by any means, and I agreed to proceed and take time off work again to come back, but it surprised me they were unprepared and did not call to inform me so we could have rescheduled to when they were ready to start as planned. This is just one example, instances like this repeated themselves throughout my treatment. (2) Dr Thompson had recommended traditional braces over Invisalign, stating that both had the same medical benefits but that traditional gave her more control. Only after getting the traditional braces installed was I given a list of all the food/drinks I could not consume for the next year and a half. Again, not the end of the world, but why this obvious downside was not presented during our consultation discussing pros/cons of the treatments seemed odd. The treatment I got did align my teeth but left an asymmetric gap between top/bottom on one side, and fixing it would have required extending past the maximum estimate I was originally given for the treatment. (3) Dr Thompson assured me that a fixed bottom retainer would hold my teeth in place and that it can provide superior protection against movement over a removable since people can tend to forget to wear them. At no point did she mention that fixed retainers do not guarantee teeth will not move, which, two years later, is exactly what happened. I have a bottom tooth which has shifted forward and another tooth slid behind it. Since I have moved Coasts I went to a local orthodontist as soon as I noticed. He explained to me that fixed retainers are insufficient protection against movement which is why he recommends his patients use both a fixed and removable over it (an option that Dr Thompson never mentioned to me). He also told me that had Dr Thompson's office taken a mold or a 3d scan of my bottom teeth, they could create a removable retainer to match what they were pre-shift, and that the retainer would likely re-align the shifted tooth. But Dr Thompson's office doesn't keep molds for patients, nor do they take 3d scans, so this is not an option. To correct the tooth would be another round of braces, so the best I can do now is get a removable retainer made to at least ensure it does not shift more. I reached out to SmileHaus regarding this situation. I asked if they had a mold or a scan, which they don't. I asked if they would fix the tooth if I came back into town, or at least cover the cost of a retainer to make sure it doesn't move more. 6 days later and they have not responded. In summary, it's a series of mistakes and general lack of professionalism that leads me to give this office such a low rating. I strongly encourage anyone seeking braces to get multiple consultations and to steer towards an office with more experience.

So I go for a consultation at 10 am...I get there and they make you wait in your car till they are ready. I filled out paperwork online but had to do it in person and honestly such a waste of time. The front desk was rude and I didn't appreciate the tone. They take forever taking X-rays then when the dentist finally gets to you the consultation is very vague. She asked me what I wanted to change about my smile and I mean I think it's obvious when you want braces you want straight teeth. At first they told me they offered three different varieties of clear braces like Invisalign. Then I was told they only carried one brand. After the consultation nobody could give me a price for braces. It wasn't until 4 pm when I received a call that the clear braces would cost 6,200. No Thank You I found a dentist down the block that went to USC and UC Berkeley and is extremely thorough on his consultation and plan for your teeth. His price is 4,700. Do your research. Just because a place looks cute doesn't mean it's professional.

Smilehaus Orthodontics is top notch! The office is decorated with great, vibrant colors and you get a great vibe as soon as you walk in. Then you are greeted by an equally warm and welcoming staff. The dental instruments They use are new and state of the art. Then you meet Dr. Thompson and she is wonderful! Laid back, friendly and quite funny; but most importantly she's good at what she does! Definitely one of the best out there.
