SmileCare of Oregon is neither prepared, nor capable of handling OHP patients, although for some unknown reason, they seem to believe they are, and continue to disappoint OHP referred/assigned patients. My experience with them was beyond atrocious. I would not recommend any of their services. I scheduled my first appointment with them for their first availability, which was to be January 11, all the way back in October 2021. Today, January 7th, they called to inform me that they didn't take my insurance, and they were going to cancel. I called back, and spoke to their office manager, who said that I would need to contact OHP and get that figured out before 2pm or they'll cancel the appointment. I was able to get things straightened out with OHP on their end, and they said that the dentists office would now show coverage, but if the system didn't show yet, to have SmileCare call them. So I spent the next 2 hours trying to contact SmileCare, and finally drive to the office. The dentist answered, and after explaining everything, she checked their systems, but it still showed I wasn't covered. I told her to call the OHP/insurance to confirm. Her answer was basically that a verbal agreement wouldn't guarantee that they got paid for my appointment, and they canceled it anyway. Don't go here, even if you're not on OHP. I will not be treated like a second class citizen. Solidarity in numbers

HIGH MARKS from this retired healthcare professional! My own dentist was on vacation and I had a dental emergency. This doctor was IN and not only managed the situation, she and her team went above and beyond to see that I was comfortable as they dug in to find the source of that deep, dental nerve pain. Detail oriented team that I found to be exceptional with professional, compassionate and THOROUGH organization and staff. There's also a wonderful sense of extended family/community there. Easy to find along River Rd, immediately N of Manbrin on the west side. Look for the lovely sign with the Iris (if u miss it you're going too fast!!). BTW, excellent pandemic protocols, too, which is very appreciated by this first time Grandma! They have my gratitude and trust.

I'm a new patient at this office, right when the pandemic hit. I have to say their office is handling the safe covid practices better than anyone I have seen to date. She's also the hest dentist I've been to in my life! That's saying a lot considering I'm in my 50's. Her and her assistant, work ss a great team. Thanks SmileCare!

I have never had a better dentest. I didn't see a dentest much as a child, and it made my anxiety about seeing the dentest higher. Other dentests I have seen, didn't show concern at all. This dentest however noticed, and found a way to help with my anxiety. I was so ashamed of my teeth when I went in to see her, they were that bad. I cried even. She comforted me with her words though, and made me feel way better. I have now gotten all of my teeth pulled, and waiting for this epidemic to be over for my dentures. Thank you to the dentest and all the people who work at the dentest.

I have always had great service here. They always do a great job with identifying cavities and being sensitive to routine cleaning. You definitely get above par treatment here vs a franchise dentistry! I recommend this dentist to friends and family.

My oldest had some work that needed to be done and she referred us out to a pediatric dentist. The pediatric dentist gave us her recommendation of what he needed. Our dentist then said, nope I referred you to the wrong person and sent us to an oral surgeon where my son was screaming and crying so much that they couldn't do the work. We were AGAIN referred out to a DIFFERENT pediatric dentist. They gave us the same list of work that needed to be done as the first pediatric dentist we saw. Our dentist received the list of work they wanted to do and denied all but one thing. One single extraction, not even a spacer so his teeth wouldn't crowd before his adult teeth came in. I switched to a new dentist and at his FIRST appt they recommended the same treatment recommended by the other 2 pediatric dentists, approved it right then, and said someone would call me to get him scheduled. Why was that so hard? I had a hot exposed nerve. They had to shoot medicine directly in to the nerve. I was crying and groaning because well....it really hurt...and she literally laughed in my face. I will say the staff there have always been great. It's just the actual dentist we've had problems with.

Went here with my husband awhile back. Recently he had extremely bad tooth pain and called the emergency number and no one ever returned our call. To me that is terrible customer service. People come to these places of business when In dyer need and not even taking a minute to return a call to someone in that much pain is inexcusable. If you can't even carry out proper customer service then how can you be trusted to take proper medical care of people. Disappointed in this business.

Never had a problem and they are willing to work with my kids as much as they can handle. The dentist is great and makes my kids want to do things.

Let me first start off saying, if you do not have regular insurance, you matter as well go somewhere else. I'll gladly tell you why, this private clinic, is all about the money and not the care of the patients. Oh and also expect your appointments to be moved around and rescheduled...3 months out that is, without much of a notice. So you took that day off from work to get things done on your teeth? HA expect it to change because they do not care. Second of all, with the loud mouth dental assistant in that place, your HIPPA information will be exposed, new meds, yep I heard that too! You can easily hear every conversation being said while you're getting your teeth cleaned, so who needs podcasts when you can listen to Karen whom is getting a divorce to her scandalous husband and moving her and the kids to Portland! Lovely! Third of all, not very pleasant to see not only the dental assistant, but the dentist herself in the front of the office wearing their protective face mask under their nose or chin, which I'll gladly let you know that according to the CDC guildlines the outer surface of the mask is HIGHLY contaminated! Also, but wait! There's more! *gasps* be careful about touching the door handle while leaving, the person next to you getting their tooth extracted and coming out looking like a chipmunk with all that gauze in their mouth, yeah they touched their mouth with their bloody saliva hands and reached for that door handle, so watch for blood on handles when you walk out of there. If you're lucky enough the dental assistant or dentist will touch it without knowing and go contaminate everything else in that place with their barehands! Oh you are still reading this review? Well let me go ahead and tell you about the trash can in the waiting room. Yes the open trash can. As you are patiently sitting and waiting in the what looks clean area, you might be surprised to look over or perhaps throw that Dutch bros cup away that you walked in with, only to see what appears to be bloody guaze! Seriously what is up with people and bloody guaze? Like I know it's trash can, but that's real delightful to see. BIOHAZARIOUS waste in a typical OPEN trash can! Well just hope you don't have any curious toddlers with you. I don't know about y'all, but I think OSHA should do a friendly stop by. But hey what's my one bad, but honest, review matter... after all it's just what I witness. Not an opinion. Facts before thoughts.
