The Smile Zone Squad is a group of rock stars! Each squad member brings their own individual skills and personality to serve up unrivaled care for our patients. We also are well trained in balloon animal art and Disney movie theme songs Our goal is to make dentistry fun!
Dr. Hudkins graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Missouri-Kansas City. She went on to dental school, graduating in 2001. Following graduation, Dr. Hudkins practiced in a childrens clinic for four years in the Branson area. It was there that she realized her love for working with children, which compelled her to join in private practice with Dr. Brell in 2005. Just a year later, she created Smile Zone to provide a fun and friendly atmosphere that meets the dental needs of children and has developed into a second family. Dr. Hudkins, her husband, and three energetic young boys have called Springfield home for 19 years. Together, their family loves the lake, rock climbing, skiing and the ocean.
We understand that our patients cannot be rushed. Thats why we apply the Tell, Show, Do method. We explain it in terms they can understand, show the patient what we are going to do, and then we do This method is as effective as it is simple!
From the lounge, through the Safari hall, Under the Sea, past the Beach Bay, bundle up in the Arctic hall, all the way to the prizes- dont miss a beat! We want you and your family to see it all, meet the team, and experience all the ways we make dentistry fun!

Today was my daughter's first time at the dentist. She ended up needing some work done, and they did it the same day. Everyone from the time I walked in, to the time I left was so caring and wonderful. This was my daughter's first time having work done (she's 6), so it caused me to be a little emotional. I was slightly embarrassed but they all were very understanding and kept checking on her for me, giving me updates in the waiting room. My daughter ended up getting sick during the work and they gave her a shirt to change in to and was very professional about it. I can't thank Dr. Hudkins and staff enough for everything they did for my little girl. Highly recommend this place.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Hudkins and all the ladies at Smilezone, especially Caitlin. My boys have had a hard time at every other dentist except this one! They have been so kind and gentle with them and make difficult procedures bearable and even fun for them. This office has been a true answer to my prayers and I am so thankful for them. Dr Hudkins is also really knowledgeable and experienced, it is not hard to trust her expert opinion. Thank you ladies for all you do!

They staff is kind and knowledgeable, most importantly they took the time to answer all questions and not pressure us into anything financially we weren't ready for as a family of 5!!! We will be staying with SMILE ZONE

My kids have been there a few times and the last time the dentist made *both* kids vomit. The assistant said it was normal but that's never happened before with our previous dentist in Kansas City in the many years we went there. It seems they probably gave too much nitrous gas but they denied that. The dentist never came out to visit with us, even when we asked. Maybe we are accustomed to awesome care in Kansas City but this place is not kid-friendly, is not gentle, does not explain what's happening, and seems to lie. Worst pediatrics dentist we have been to in the Springfield area. I hope this isn't the standard for a pediatric dentist in this area.

Best dentist for the kiddos! Right now they don't have the egg chairs, tablets, or the other toys because of Covid-19...We hope next time we go back they will have all the fun stuff for the kids again.
