Dr. Hasanain Alani graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, then from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S). Dr. Alani then completed a General Practice Residency program at John D. Dingell VA Medical Center (Detroit, MI) where he focused on delivering care to the veteran's community. The patient family Dr. Alani treated was medically complex and that put his knowledge in general and oral medicine into use and trained him to manage medical emergencies. During his training, Dr. Alani used the latest technologies to provide quality care in Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Implant placement and restoration, prosthodontics, periodontics, and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Alani served in the National Leadership of the Council of Students, Residents & Fellows at the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) as well as a member of the House of Delegates. His affiliation with ADEA included attending several national meetings and presenting his own research projects. During that time, Dr. Alani completed the Academic Dental Careers Fellowship Program (ADCFP) through fulfilling research requirements and active mentoring for faculty.
Dr. Alani provides patient-centered care that is respectful of, and responsive to, individual patient preferences, needs and values, and ensuring that patient values guide all clinical decisions. Following his philosophy of care, Dr. Alani will present you with a treatment plan that will be thoroughly explained and discussed with providing alternatives if available.

The dentist himself, fantastic! Very reassuring as I have horrible anxiety. My experience was great but what isn't great is that I missed one appointment and rescheduled one appointment and they inactivated me as a patient . Life happens, and sometimes phone calls don't get made and things need to be rescheduled especially while working a full time job. Disappointed that that let me go as a patient because I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who has missed one appointment and rescheduled one. So now I have to find a new dentist

Took my three kids here for the first time and had an amazing experience. They let me go with my youngest and were so compassionate (it was her first time). Both the dental hygienist and dentist are great with children.

I highly recommend these guys! I've always been nervous with going to the dentist, and since I had moved, I needed to get a new one. I'm glad to have chosen Smile Zone, they're very friendly and informative, and do an excellent job of making sure you feel comfortable! I got my tooth pulled as my first appointment, and Dr. Alani made it quick and painless!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially one lady that did my ex rays, jenny she explained everything very well she was fast and thorough and really went the extra mile to make sure I didn't have any unanswered questions or concerns I would definitely recommend this office to anyone

Staff is great, however dentist is condescending, uncaring, and impatient. I would not have written this review if this wasn't my experience on more then one occasion. Anyone with a real fear of dentistry or needles should never, ever, go here.

The staff is very friendly!! The manager Donna was very friendly and helpful with getting me in around my schedule. Jenny the dental assistant was very sweet and gentle with the procedure. Dr. Alani is very nice and gentle. He explains everything he is going to do before he does it. I recommend this dentist office!!

I made the mistake of ignoring a broken tooth for nearly two years, making what would have already been a complicated procedure even more difficult. Dr. Alani was able to diagnose that the tooth could be saved and that my wisdom tooth was causing many of problems, as well. The crown is a perfect fit, and the wisdom tooth extraction was done quickly and I experienced almost zero pain (despite the fact the tooth was massive). I was in the chair for a while, but he constantly let me know what he was doing and why, and we even had a chat about TV shows (when I was able to close my mouth). The staff there is very caring, welcoming and skilled, as well. He will be our family dentist moving forward.

Dr. Alani was supposed to fill two small fillings that weren't hurting me at all. No nitrous was provided, even though requested, scheduled, and paid for. He took way too much off the first tooth, more than discussed, or necessary, which has now created the need for a crown.There is now a spot in the back, along the gum line, that was not completely filled in, and now feels unprotected. He became upset and frustrated with me when I could feel the drill, and pain, and tried to rush the process along.There was absolutely no empathy or patience to the fact that I have a genuine fear of needles. The second tooth he opened wide up, exposed the nerve, hastily filled it with temporary compound, and suggested I get a referral for an oral surgeon. My goal for two years has been to make my smile the best it can be. I have spent several thousand dollars already. I am so sad and angry with the condition he left my teeth in, and his demeanor was childish, and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and go to a dentist who actually cares.

Got multiple fillings and wisdom tooth extraction and everything went perfectly. Couldn't have asked for better care! The staff are all super nice and helpful with any questions! They reassured me when I was nervous too and I'm super happy I went to them!

The dentist and his assistance's are very thorough with pictures for my first visit. Definitely better than Richmond dental cause they are in town close by they're very helpful to get my smile back again. I'm very satisfied after the work doctor Alani did for my dentures and he has chat on google maps if you have any questions or problems after oral surgery. I would definitely recommend Smile Zone in Fort Gratiot Michigan they are very caring about their patients. Thank you to smile zone.

I hadn't been to the dentist on over 9 years because of a bad experience. When I arrived at Smile Zone for simple fillings, I told them my fears, and they made me feel 100% confident and comfortable. By far the best dentist I could ask for. Short wait times and quick and efficient procedure. Highly recommend!
