This was my first ever experience with Ideal Dental. I'm new to New Braunfels and was due for hygiene. My most recent appointment with my dentist in private practice in San Antonio was only 4 months ago. I made an appointment for hygiene and a new patient exam for 7/12/2022 at 8:00AM. My experience with the front office was fine, although the staff misread my insurance benefits and informed me beforehand that I would have to pay 50% for hygiene when I knew that was wrong. They held to their guns until I arrived at the appointment where the receptionist recanted her original position. Beyond the front office was where my visit began to fall apart. My appointment was 8:00 AM, perhaps the first appointment of the day. The exam rooms were already dirty. There were visible scraps of paper under the cabinets toe spaces and visible dust on floors especially corners and close to the walls. Trim boards were dirty, chrome bases on the rolling chairs that the staff sits in and the bench base in the exam room was covered with grime and dust. My exam room had clearly visible, large chipped paint on the dark teal walls. How are these rooms sanitized with this much soil on the floors? And these are the areas that patients can see. What kind of sanitation is done on the things patients do not see like the equipment and tools? Enough about the environment. The appointment had only just begun. The hygienist spent all of 12 minutes cleaning my teeth followed by the dentist exam where the dentist claimed I needed some scaling on the tongue side of a molar. To my dismay she did not pickup a scaler that was on my tray to complete the cleaning, nor did she call the hygienist back to finish his job. I voiced my concerns and I was told that the hygienist and the dentist see different things. REGARDLESS, if the dentist saw a neglected area while I am in for hygiene then it needs to be cleaned by someone. If the dentist is too arrogant to do it then call Kebian back to do his job! That's what I'm paying for! To conclude, Ideal dental charges the same amount for treatment that my previous dentist in private practice charged but the care was considerably inferior. They run patients through like cattle. Their goal appears to be quantity of patients rather than quality dental care. I conclude that Ideal Dental is the Dollar Tree of dental care. For what dental care costs I expect sanitary conditions and professionalism but none was present at my appointment. This was my first and last visit to Ideal Dental.

The team is AMAZING! I moved further away from here, but continue to keep them because of how friendly, thorough and service oriented they are. I definitely recommend them!

APR 2022 - Update. Of note, my understanding is there is new ownership at this location - formerly Smile Workshop - now Ideal Dental @ Oak Run. There has been some staff turnover. New dentist. Most recent appointment felt rushed, disorganized, and rapport was less than before. 2021 - Very professional and personal dental care. Everyone I interacted with was courteous, and they made the experience pleasant.

Long wait time being brought back, cleaning was super fast in 10 minutes, long wait time for doctor to come in, wasn't told the practice had changed to another company or that a new doctor was there. My concerns were not addressed at all. It feels like they are just pumping patients through and don't care at all. Over all (with exception the pleasant up front staff) they were worst cleanings me and my daughter have ever had and and we will be leaving the practice.

The teeth cleaning was fast and complete. Was disappointed, however, as the hygienist used an extra process that he did not explain what it was for and the fact it cost me extra. The fid news of this is the charge was waived due to no explanation and letting us know the cost. Not a good practice.

The Smile Workshop location in New Braunfels remains superior to the others. They are willing to work with you, answer all questions, and address any concerns. Each individual is welcoming and respectful, as well as competent in their field. That's what is needed, thank you!

Smile Workshop has proved to be the best dental care i have experienced in Texas. The staff was warm, friendly and caring. Dr. Michelle Amsili went beyond the call of duty. Removing two back molars that everyone i had previously consulted with, wanted to send me to an oral surgeon. I had delt with severe pain for months. Dr Michelle immediately perscribed antibiotic and Tylenol threes for pain two weeks before I saw her. Dr Michelle knows what she's doing extremely. I experience no pain during the visit. I recommend Dr Michelle Amsili to anyone in need of a professional Dentist. Only reservations i have about Smile Workshop is that for some reason, was under the impression that my medicare had been accepted. It was a surprise to be charged at the end of the visit. My fault for not being totally aware of the charge as my understand was they were accepting my Humana medicare insurance Perhaps they should be clear about what was acceptable. Thank you Dr. Michelle Amsili. You are certainly a major credit to Smile Workshop

Well to say the least, we were shocked and extremely disappointed that Dr. Andrea Haselhoff was no longer there and that's the reason we had a follow-up. My husband and I had the fastest and worst teeth cleaning experience ever! It was all about 7 minutes long..It felt like nothing was done...Then the new Dentist came in and didn't even introduce herself...She was the most unprofessional Dentist I have ever met. She was wishy washy about the exrays as if she wasn't even sure what she sees..Definitely won't be back and am spreading the word about this place. It was the BEST when the original group was there and sooo professional!
