Dr. Rishita Jaju, a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, is the founding Dentist of Smile Wonders in Reston, VA. Shecompleted her dental education at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston. MA and continued to receive specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Childrens National Medical Center in Washington, DC where she was appointed as the Chief Resident. She is the only pediatric dentists in the Mid-Atlantic region who has achieved Advanced Laser Proficiency Certification from the Academy of Laser Dentistry and Breastfeeding Specialist Certification.
Dr. Rishita gives back to her profession and patient community. She is selected on the Council of Clinical Affairs for American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Examination Committee of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Each year Smile Wonders participates inGive Kids a Smile initiative by American Dental Association to provide free care for children of Northern Virginia.
Dr. Rishita loves going home to her loving husband, active toddler and 2 adorable maltese doggies Kaju and Kulfi. She is looking forward to travelling all over the world again and has visited every continent (except Antarctica).
Dr. Dang completed her dental education at Universite Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, and went on to get her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at Howard University. She makes it a priority to widen her knowledge about all new technology and skill sets to be able to provide the best overall care possible to her patients. Since Laser Dentistry is an integral part of her everyday practice, Dr. Dang obtained her standard laser proficiency certification from the Academy of Laser Dentistry.Besides providing Laser Dental Care, Dr. Dang is experienced with Laser assisted Frenectomies for Infants, Toddlers and Children.Dr. Dang and the Smile Wonders team are actively working to receive further training as Breastfeeding Specialists.
Dr. Dang enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Hai, and their goofy Doberman, Rex! She and her husband love to travel and experience different cultures (and especially their culinary specialties from all around the globe). When in town, they love going hiking with Rex and trying out any place known for good food! In addition, they hope to be able to get back to ballroom dancing soon, just for fun!

I am disagree with Mrs. McCue, Sarah what she has said about Smile Wonders. My experience with Smile Wonders has been incredibly because doctors and staff are very kind with all patients. We used our dental insurance , we are 21 century and I don't see nothing wrong using paper check from insurance company

Beautiful -- and I mean BEAUTIFUL -- setting. Owners of the practice, in all sincerity, please: -- Inform busy Moms and Dads that the GPS does not track to the location -- Let busy Moms and Dads know the location is next to a hotel and not where the address should logically be -- e.g, next to the medical office complex. Moms and Dads reading this review, do not be deterred by the person answering the phone, "Yah, our first time patients never find us on time." -- Let busy Moms and Dads as insurance holders know that their visit is pre-paid, even if busy Moms and Dads have insurance -- e.g., we paid $150 upfront but only "used" $105 of the visit -- wait, what? -- then need to wait to be reimbursed for what is covered by our insurance -- Inform busy Moms and Dads as insurance holders that you will bill our insurance -- and please just us a receipt without having to ask for it -- Inform busy Moms and Dads as insurance holders they will need to look for a reimbursement check, often taking weeks for a check [who uses checks anymore?] to appear in the mail -- this is important, and time consuming -- Inform busy Moms and Dads that despite driving around desperately to find the location that YOU WILL WAIT 45 MINUTES FOR A FIVE MINUTE EXAM if you're late. Note: even if panting and sweaty as you race to register your child, you will wait 45 minutes to see the dentist. -- Inform busy Moms and Dads that there will be feigned confusion when you check out and say, "Wait, I paid $105 for the office visit and $45 for the x-ray but didn't get the x-ray" will meet with equally feigned confusion, "No, we charge $150 for the office visit" then you'll feel small and petty when you say, "No, my text exchange right here shows $105 for the office visit and $45 for ... ." well, you just feel small and petty for thinking, "I have dental insurance! Why I am I paying for something that is covered?!" Anyway, just make sure you get a receipt for the full amount you pay upfront, a receipt for the refund, track your bank account, call the dentist's office and be polite as you can regarding why the hell you're in this hell when you have insurance that covers the fees. Then feel equally petty when you call that the $45 refund of pre-paid services you didn't use doesn't appear in your bank account. All that for a canker sore way back in my child's mouth that I just couldn't see and needed a second (non-Mom) opinion. PS Dr. Rishita Jaju, it would be so great if you could let us all know why we need to pay upfront, despite having dental insurance?

This dentistry practice was a great first start for my son to learn how to brush his teeth. The doctors and staff are very courteous and the waiting room is very kid-friendly. That's the only reason this rating is a few stars at all... The doctors continue to push for services we deemed unnecessary just due to my son's birth history. It turned out he never had a lip or tongue tie and this expensive surgery would have been superfluous. Then earlier this year, I was informed that they would no longer be honoring our insurance plan, instead charging me out of network prices--275 dollars for just a regular cleaning!--just so they could peddle and force patients to purchase their new Smile Wonders insurance/payment plan. What a scheme, beware of this practice trying to get you to spend your hard earned money on unnecessary procedures or their sham insurance/payment plan!

It is rare to have such a great experience with a business. Not only was Dr. Jaju great, but so was her entire staff from the front desk to the dental assistants. And the entire experience is done in such as way to put the kids (and their parents) at ease, and have a positive experience going to the dentist. Our daughter definitely has a bad reaching whenever we are in the vicinity of medical offices given more then a few hospital stays, and lots of doctor's visits in her first few years. We were expecting the worst - and left with a verify positive experience. We would highly recommend Smile Wonders to other parents...

Dr. Jaju was very highly recommended to me by numerous medical professionals so I had high expectations that we would get the best treatment and care dealing with my 3-week old's tongue and lip ties, and we were not let down! Dr. Jaju, Wendy and Phelecia were thorough, knowledgeable and kind throughout our consultation, treatment and follow up. It isn't easy going through these procedures with a newborn, but they made it as smooth as possible. The Smile Wonders office is so clean, well set up and a fun environment for families. The nursing room was so well stocked and welcoming for me to use before or after visits. The intense pain I'd been experiencing when breastfeeding prior to the procedures was immediately gone post-procedure and while the recovery process wasn't easy, it was all so worthwhile. I am positive I would not have been able to continue my breastfeeding journey without the revisions we received for our daughter Wynnie, and it gave me peace of mind knowing we were in the capable hands of the most highly recommended dentist to manage this type of care. We're so grateful to Dr. Dang, Dr. Tran, Callie, and the whole team for taking such great care of our daughter. She had extensive dental care on Friday and is doing great and recovered well. My husband and I are both general dentists and our daughter has a condition called enamel dysplasia and the doctors helped us so much with their comprehensive treatment. We felt so happy to find this practice and are so grateful for their care and kindness. Thank you for everything you did for our baby.

We had a great experience at Smile Wonders with Wendy & Dr. Rishita Jaju. Wendy provided us guidance from our initial consultation to our final follow-up appointment post tongue & lip tie release on our now 6 week old. Dr. Jaju was patient, personable, & provided great insight regarding the ties. I felt reassured during our interaction. Our infant's ties were released at 3 weeks. We commuted nearly 60 miles each way after receiving & reading many recommendations for the practice. I can confidently say it was well worth it to receive great care for our infant!!!

The staff at Smile Wonders are amazing! They do check ins via video, calls, and text to make sure the healing is going well. My song had oral surgery and came back to me smiling! They definitely care about your little ones and their progress! I would definitely recommend them to family and friends!

Dr. Rishita Jaju and her team are wonderful. My 4 years old son had a tongue tie release (frenectomy) done with sedation and everything went perfect. We are very happy with the results and with Smile Wonders!
