Dr. Richard Dawson, was born in Salt Lake City and earned a music degree from the University of Utah. He met the love of his life shortly before moving to Arizona to attend Midwestern University School of Dental Medicine. His favorite thing about being a dentist is making patients smile. Dr. Dawson and his wife have an amazing daughter. We love traveling, hiking, biking, and eating great food.

Charlene was the most gentle dental hygienist I have ever had in my life. She listens and is aware of non verbal cues on how you're doing throughout your session. I've had a lot of dental work in my life and she was just amazing!! Dr Dawson the on-site dentist is also great!! Super informative and comprehensive.

The office staff was very friendly and accommodated my desired appointment time and the insurance provider I use. The doctor and dental hygienists were officiant and kind. The facility is really clean and seems to have up to date equipment. Overall, I was very happy and will be getting a cleaning done more often because of them and their affordable pricing.

I have been going here since I moved to AZ. I loved the office when I Started. Unfortunately since COVID has been many Dr and staff turn around, it feels sterile and quiet kinda corporate. NOT THE STAFF ISSUE BUT CORPORATE ISSUE.

It was great from check in to check out, all the staff make sure your comfortable and know what's going on every step of the way. Really great conversations with my dental hygienist and my dentist, they both made me feel at ease about the work the needed to be done.

I've been a patient of Waterfront Dentistry in Old Town Scottsdale for several years. They recently closed their office and referred all of their patients to two different dentist offices in the area. I chose to be referred to Smile Today. I spoke with them several weeks ago and got an appointment scheduled for 4pm today. Imagine my surprise when I arrived to find that they close at noon on Fridays. Imagine that one of your competitors closes their business and GIVES you all of their clients and the first thing you do is screw it up by wasting their time! I left work early for this. Looks like I'm looking for a new dentist on my own.

I was seen promptly for an abscesses wisdom teeth. Treatment plan was proposed, antibiotic was prescribed, and a tooth extraction was scheduled. Doctor and staff were very professional.

Honestly, the best dentist office I've been to. Good staff, doctor is awesome UPDATE: new staff and new dentist recently took over. Before the new doctor, I've been going here for years and it was AMAZING. Now they seem to be just trying to make money, even on patients they have never seen. I had a procedure 5/21 before new owners took over. I've been back multiple times since the procedure. Always current on bills, pay them all in full on site. Out of the blue, under new ownership, over a year later. I get a notice I owe 1300 dollars. They don't have all my complete paperwork or can give complete details other than your insurance wasn't accepted. Mind you, this has been over a year and not the dentist I went to or same staff. I was told all was good, balance was paid by my doctor and staff at the time. Going back for cleanings and adjustments. No balance ever due at that time. Now they are threatening me with collections and quite honestly, I don't even know who they are. Never seen this doctor, never talked to the staff.

Dr. Dawson and alix are amazing!! The staff are super helpful and awesome! Everyone is super nice and they make sure their patients are taken care of! I love this office!

Everyone in the office was very friendly. There was a 40 min delay to my appointment due to one of their hygienists calling in sick, but they were very apologetic about it. Dr. Dawson was very knowledgeable and thorough.

Amazing experience! I came in with a terrible tooth ache and they took time the time to figure out what was going on and fixed the problem immediately. Very kind and caring staff. Definitely will be coming back!

Wow! Every single person at Smile Today made me feel at ease. I've never been to a dentist office before that didn't suck the anxiety right out of me. But Dr. Dawson and his assistant, Tony, and even the two lovely front desk ladies, made my experience the best it could be. Nobody wants to go to the dentist on an emergency, but this entire office made sure I had everything I needed to keep me comfortable through my experience and procedure. I highly recommend giving them a call when you find yourself reading through reviews on google in search of a dentist!

The Islamic Italian looking guy Dentist with no beard that works there told the Asian woman Dentist in mesa near Fiesta Mall at magic smiles dental to give me six fillings in teeth that looked fine instead of working on a tooth I chipped on olive pit. He said oh well I get the dentist you have been going to to give you fillings in those teeth before they do any dental work you make an appointment for! Now I have six fillings and no tooth. This guy told me there cavities you just can't them that they are inside of the teeth/molars on the top. That's probably what he told the Asian woman dentist at magic Smiles Dental and she refused to work on a tooth I made the appointment for that I chipped on an olive pit in an olive that was supposed to have no pits. instead of the six teeth looked fine.

(2017) Just about as good as it gets. Flawless customer service skilled staff. (2022) The staff is great from the first call to the end of the appointment they are so helpful and reassuring. I know my dental heath is in great hands!

I was visiting Scottsdale and a crown on one of my teeth came off. Fortunately I was able to catch the crown. Even better, Smile Today was able to see me on the same day and did exactly what was needed to allow me to continue enjoying my time with my family. After my cleaning, the dentist reviewed my x-rays and determined what I kind of suspected in the way of the amount of dental work I required. I think it was Alex who did a good job of cleaning my teeth, and I didn't really catch the dentist's name, possibly Dr. Dawson, but I'm quite happy with the time I spent at Smile Today this morning.
