I love using my talents to bring about positive, lasting changes in the lives of my patients, and quite literally, giving them a reason to smile. I feel fortunate that I was introduced to the profession at a young age, through my father, who is a practicing orthodontist in California. My fondest memories are the times I spent sitting at his workbench in our garage at night as he taught me how to make retainers, or hanging out in his office with the staff and patients who, through the years, had become more like our extended family.

I enjoy talking with my patients and learning about their hobbies, talents, and professions. As we talk and joke it builds a special rapport as we work together towards the shared goal of a beautiful, healthy smile. When my patients return years later with family or friends, its great to hear about all the amazing things they are going on to accomplish!

Dr. Kaplan attended La Sierra University in Riverside, California to obtain her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and Biomedical Science. After graduation, she continued her education at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California, where she was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Science and graduated in the top of her class. Dr. Kaplan was then accepted into the highly competitive Orthodontic Residency Program at Loma Linda where she earned her Masters degree.

Since entering the profession, Dr. Kaplan has been at the forefront of every major advancement in orthodontics. Whether its state-of-the-art aligner technology or clear self-ligating brackets, she is passionate about providing the most advanced orthodontic care and treatment options available to ensure that her patients have a fantastic orthodontic experience and receive amazing results.

Most recently, Dr. Kaplan has participated in online webinars for topics including TMD and sleep apnea and attended the annual meetings for the American Association of Orthodontics, Invisalign seminars, and Damon Forum.

Dr. Kaplan grew up in California, and moved to Colorado Springs in 2011. She is married to Dr. Chad Watts, the owner and orthodontist at Rangewood Orthodontics in Colorado Springs. Together they have five children, Carter 19, Jenna 17, Cohen 14, Caden 7 and Christian 2. When shes not in the office, Dr. Kaplan can be found at the gym or out hiking, mountain biking or snowboarding on the slopes with her kids.

Together, Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Watts founded the El Paso County chapter of Smile for a Lifetime, an organization that enables them to provide free orthodontic treatment for up to 12 children a year. They are also the volunteer orthodontists for Kids in Need of Dentistry. It is her sincere belief that at the heart of a thriving community are individuals who care for one another in times of need, and that the confidence of a healthy, beautiful smile should be available to everyone.

I decided to enter the specialty of orthodontics because I understand the impact a beautiful and healthy smile can have on a persons life. Seeing the joy on a patients face when they achieve the smile they always wanted is extremely rewarding. Dr. Chance Choate was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with honors with a degree in biomedical sciences. Dr. Choate received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry where he was named to the ontological dental honor society.

He continued his professional education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where Dr. Choate earned a postgraduate Masters of Science in Dentistry and a certificate in orthodontics. He is also board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.

Following the completion of his residency, Dr. Choate accepted a position as an orthodontist in Pennsylvania where he helped establish a practice and gained valuable experience. Although he enjoyed his time on the east coast, he and his family moved to Denver and are excited to call Colorado home.

With the support of an exceptional team, Dr. Choate hopes to create a welcoming environment treating patients with respect and care. He strives to stay up to date with the latest techniques and technologies to provide the best experience for his patients.

I was born in the small town of Liberal, Kansas. By the age of 7, my family had moved across the country to five different states before settling in Saginaw, Michigan, which I consider home. Growing up, I was very shy and timid due to the way my teeth looked. I remembered people talking about my buck teeth all my life. Understandably, it really affected my confidence and self-esteem throughout high school. I didnt speak much during my childhood and for sure did not like people seeing my smile. You would not find a single photo of me smiling with my teeth.

It wasnt until college where I took the leap to go get braces. I was finally going to get that smile Ive always dreamed of where I would no longer be shy to smile. The day I got my braces off, was the best day of my life. I looked forward to showing everybody my smile and could not stop grinning for months. I could not believe these were my teeth.

With this newfound confidence, I decided to enter the dental field so I could create the same change my orthodontist (Dr. Larry) did for me. My goal of orthodontic treatment for my patients is to instill the same confidence and charisma I developed as a young college student.

During my time at my orthodontics residency, I met my amazing wife Lisa who was completing graduate school at the time. We moved to Chicago for four years while she furthered her education to become a Physician. We welcomed our son Tai in the windy city, who is our world. As she wraps up medical school, we are excited to head back home to Colorado to set up roots for our family and be active in the community.
