I love using my talents to bring about positive, lasting changes in the lives of my patients, and quite literally, giving them a reason to smile. I feel fortunate that I was introduced to the profession at a young age, through my father, who is a practicing orthodontist in California. My fondest memories are the times I spent sitting at his workbench in our garage at night as he taught me how to make retainers, or hanging out in his office with the staff and patients who, through the years, had become more like our extended family.
I enjoy talking with my patients and learning about their hobbies, talents, and professions. As we talk and joke it builds a special rapport as we work together towards the shared goal of a beautiful, healthy smile. When my patients return years later with family or friends, its great to hear about all the amazing things they are going on to accomplish!
Dr. Kaplan attended La Sierra University in Riverside, California to obtain her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and Biomedical Science. After graduation, she continued her education at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California, where she was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Science and graduated in the top of her class. Dr. Kaplan was then accepted into the highly competitive Orthodontic Residency Program at Loma Linda where she earned her Masters degree.
Since entering the profession, Dr. Kaplan has been at the forefront of every major advancement in orthodontics. Whether its state-of-the-art aligner technology or clear self-ligating brackets, she is passionate about providing the most advanced orthodontic care and treatment options available to ensure that her patients have a fantastic orthodontic experience and receive amazing results.
Most recently, Dr. Kaplan has participated in online webinars for topics including TMD and sleep apnea and attended the annual meetings for the American Association of Orthodontics, Invisalign seminars, and Damon Forum.
Dr. Kaplan grew up in California, and moved to Colorado Springs in 2011. She is married to Dr. Chad Watts, the owner and orthodontist at Rangewood Orthodontics in Colorado Springs. Together they have five children, Carter 19, Jenna 17, Cohen 14, Caden 7 and Christian 2. When shes not in the office, Dr. Kaplan can be found at the gym or out hiking, mountain biking or snowboarding on the slopes with her kids.
Together, Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Watts founded the El Paso County chapter of Smile for a Lifetime, an organization that enables them to provide free orthodontic treatment for up to 12 children a year. They are also the volunteer orthodontists for Kids in Need of Dentistry. It is her sincere belief that at the heart of a thriving community are individuals who care for one another in times of need, and that the confidence of a healthy, beautiful smile should be available to everyone.
I decided to enter the specialty of orthodontics because I understand the impact a beautiful and healthy smile can have on a persons life. Seeing the joy on a patients face when they achieve the smile they always wanted is extremely rewarding. I enjoy the opportunity each day to meet new people and develop lasting relationships with patients and their families. Dr. Choate
Dr. Chance Choate was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with honors with a degree in biomedical sciences. Dr. Choate received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry where he was named to the ontological dental honor society.
He continued his professional education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where Dr. Choate earned a postgraduate Masters of Science in Dentistry and a certificate in orthodontics. He is also board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.
Following the completion of his residency, Dr. Choate accepted a position as an orthodontist in Pennsylvania where he helped establish a practice and gained valuable experience. Although he enjoyed his time on the east coast, he and his family moved to Denver and are excited to call Colorado home.
With the support of an exceptional team, Dr. Choate hopes to create a welcoming environment treating patients with respect and care. He strives to stay up to date with the latest techniques and technologies to provide the best experience for his patients.

All the staff at this office are great. Always have a smile on their face and always eager to make sure my needs are met. I have had several appointments. Not once was anyone negative. this office is over the top from start to finish.

I had a great experience overall with Smile Studios over the years, while having my braces on. I really appreciate all the time my doctor has taken to make sure that my teeth were perfect and the treatment was worth it. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming and will do there best work with every patient, at the end of my treatement I needed up loving my teeth and I can say it was definitely worth the wait.

this is an awesome place, and the staff are always friendly and helpful..they are always willing to answer any questions you may have about your orthodontic treatment. The orthodontist is very friendly and professional, and will take good care of your smile. I recommend this place and is hands down the best

Came in 2 years ago with horrible quality teeth, never wanted to smile. But now after enduring my 2 year journey with braces on, they've finally come off and my god, the people here at Smile Studio Orthodontics know how to work wonders! I've been doing braces treatment here for the past three years, and I don't think I can recommend a better place. Everyone is insanely kind and gentle, and they always try to keep you as comfortable as possible. Not only are the assistants well-experienced, but the technology is better than the other orthodontist offices my friends have been to. One of the assistants that have stayed with me the longest, Juan, had me excited every appointment because of how easy and painless he'd make them be. When I got my braces removed, they gave me a cute little tote with all the candy and popcorn I couldn't eat when my braces were on. It's a very genuine place and I can't recommend doing your orthodontic treatment here enough. Its 100% worth it!

I have nothing but positive things to say for this business and all of the employees who occupy it. Ever since I've started my teeth transformation with these guys they've been so great! I'm always excited to come in and see the folks a started with as far as Bri and Brian because I have trust that they know how to get things done in a fun customer experience sort of way. Honestly one of the most respectful, rewarding, and caring orthodontist places. The doctors communicate very well and care so much for their patients, the whole staff is so friendly and flexible. Everything went so amazingly this whole process and I love my new teeth thank you guys so so much. I've been a customer for so long and was introduced by my dad one of the best decisions ever :)
