Dr. Mattern has been practicing dentistry in Phoenix since 1991. He graduated from the Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1988 and has been developing his professional skills as a general dentist ever since!
Giving back to the community has always been a priority for Dr. Mattern. He closes all of his offices on Veterans Day in order to provide free dental treatment to our veterans. He has supported the ADA Foundations Give Kids A Smile every year since 2003, helping provide care to hundreds of disadvantaged children. He has contributed time to the St. Vincent de Paul Dental Clinic in downtown Phoenix. He continues to make trips down to Atoyac, Mexico to provide care for all those in need. Dr. Mattern is a firm believer in creating a culture of healthy, happy smiles for everyone!
Dr. Mattern has been a member of the American Dental Association and The Academy of General Dentists for over 30 years. Committed to continuing his education, Dr. Mattern has taken countless courses from leading educational institutions including the Las Vegas Institute of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Implant Seminars, Oral Sedation Seminars and Dental Sleep Medicine and obtained his fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and recognized as a Diplomat in the International Dental Implant Association. Dr. Mattern has performed thousands of dental implants and now focuses on same day full arch dental implants and treating gum recession using a non-invasive technique.
Dr. Aishwarya Subramanian (Dr. Subra) was born abroad but spent most of her childhood and schooling in Tampa, FL. A true Floridian by heart, she attended the University of Florida for both undergrad and dental school (Go Gators ). She moved to Phoenix in June of 2020 to do a one year AEGD residency at the St. Vincent de Paul Clinic in downtown Phoenix. She loved Phoenix so much that she decided to stay for work!
Dr. Subra has a true passion for dentistry. Growing up in a medical family, she was always exposed and interested in healthcare but wanted a career that was both diagnostic and hands-on. Dentistry was the perfect career to combine the two and give back to the community in a big way. Esthetic dentistry is one of her favorite areas to work in because the smile transformations are incredible and the patients are always overjoyed!
Aside from looking at teeth all day, Dr. Subra also has an avid interest in traveling. She has travelled to Ecuador, Jamaica, and DR for dental trips and to numerous other countries as a tourist. She loves to explore and try all different types of cuisines. On the weekends you can find her either dancing, hiking, or trying some new restaurants around the valley.

I couldn't believe when I went into Smile Standard how impressive this office is and how wonderful the staff is! They explained everything to me every step of the way and did everything they could to make me comfortable. This is probably the best Dentist office I ever been into and the best experience I've ever had while in a dental office.

Great dentists. Was visiting Phoenix and Had a temporary crown that came off. They were able to take me immediately and fix it. Very pleased with the service.

I walked in today to a very clean dental office and a very kind greeting. Using CT scans, photos and some kind of more advanced system I felt confident they could not miss a thing. Adam explained everything he was doing as he went along and the Dr. as well. Found out that they can do crowns same day and even more serious services. I highly recommend this group. Do not mistake them for the other "Smile" companies!

I loved my new hygienist Alex, and my new Dentist (I'm sorry I can't remember her name but she was the sweetest). Everyone was down to earth, the environment was clean and modern. Even though they take a bit longer for your first appointment, the technology they use is top of the line, and worth the time to get a complete assessment. Thank you Amy Field for the great recommendation to try out our new local dentist office in North Phoenix!

Upon arrival, Alysia greeted me at the front desk and was very welcoming. The office was very modern and clean. Claudia the dental assistant was very informative and skilled. Doctor Subra was very sweet and made me feel very comfortable. She was very thorough with her exam and explained everything during the entire process. Overall, my appointment was very efficient and I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dentist.
