Money hungry. Will only speak to you in person so they can pressure you into buying more stuff. Doesn't always have your best interest in mind. Although as a dentist they do the job well, business is first over humanity.

Positives: Staff were very kind and accommodating Quality of care was very good (to my knowledge, as I am not a dentist myself, but it seemed good) Facility was clean and fancy Areas for Improvement: Staff were late to my appointment (about 15 minutes) and the doors were locked when I arrived (about 10 minutes before my appointment time). I was told that the staff were all on lunch. I am all for team members taking healthy lunch breaks, but it would have been better to schedule a time that worked for both parties so that I didn't waste my workday time waiting. Staff were bouncing between many patients at one time, which led to significant delays. I don't know if there is a solution to this.

I started with the Smile Spa when I moved to Tucson in 2004. My last visit was in December of 2013 with the new dentist Dr. Koo. I was shocked to be informed that I had gum disease even though I have impeccable oral hygiene and have never missed a cleaning. She suggested a deep cleaning and charged me $235.00 for an exam, no Xrays!! Much higher than under Dr. Malek. Needless to say I was very upset and felt the amount was excessive. My next exam with a different dentist proved to have much more positive results. Dr. Koo was however quite pleasant, but in spite of that I had to take my business elsewhere. I really miss this place!! No one else offers such a unique dental experience in Tucson. :-(

Standout dental facility with very professional staff. From start to finish I felt they genuinely cared about me.....Dr Koo assessed my condition. Stressing its complications she offered her recommended approach and urged I get a second opinion...I did. It completely confirmed her findings and recommendation, which incidentally was the least costly...I returned to the Spa and underwent the procedure without delay... That evening Dr Koo called me at home to verify I was OK!

I feel they over charge out of pocket and charge to insurance to max out . They do not give an estimate of expense before procedure. I was given estimates and consent to sign after the procedure on my both visit . As I changed my insurance , X-ray and pictures were repeated within six months to charge max possible to my new insurance plan and charged me max possible out of pocket . I was feeling like a hostage in the smile spa clinic . My opinion may be biased because I paid too much out of pocket . I don't mind paying 1040$ from insurance and 300$ Out of pocket for a visit for dental cleaning but I wish to have my estimates and consent form signed before the procedure .
