We finally decided to "graduate" to a regular dentist after 16+ years of being Smile Shoppe customers, but have delayed for so long because they have been so wonderful. Going to the dentist will never be a theme park experience, but it's great to have a place where your kid can feel comfortable while people poke sharp objects around in their mouth.

UPDATE: The office went out of there way to fix this situation, which was greatly appreciated. Also the call center manager informed me she was investigating as to how this happened, and assured this wouldn't happen to another family. My son had a great experience and the staff was great. I received a text message to verbally confirm my appointment on the 13th by noon for my sons appointment on the 15th. I called and left a voicemail confirming my sons appointment at 8:30 am that day, stating all of the information for the appointment and a call back number. Also you're lucky if you ever get someone to answer the phone. I received a text reminder for my appointment on the 14th at 10am for the following day. Then I show up to the appointment 20 minutes early on the 15th to be told my appointment was cancelled for not verbally verifying my sons appointment.

Do NOT give them your business! They billed us for TRIPLE the amount we were told it would cost! And STILL HAVEN'T FIXED IT! The dentist suggested a procedure for our child. When we asked how much it'd cost, we were quoted a price. Notably, they only quoted one part of the procedure! MISLEADING. It ended up costing 3x the amount we were quoted. When we asked about the error, they said we'd already signed off on the procedure and no refunds would be given. HOWEVER, the invoice we were given did NOT have an amount on it. Additionally, the "Manager" NEVER called us back to fix it, after she said she would. DISHONEST.

I feel so incredibly humiliated. I cannot wear a mask. I have multiple medical conditions that make it 100% impossible to wear a mask. The one time I did wear a mask in 2020 I had to be assisted out of the building after 20 minutes because I couldn't breathe and was losing color. I made this dental appointment for THREE of my children last month. No one told me the Smile Shoppe Dentistry was refusing to acknowledge the ADA or HIPPA when I made the appointment, or I would have found a different dentist. Instead, I bring all four of my children into the office (my three that had appointments and my baby) only to be told it's required and my children can't be seen because of it. We drove 30 minutes for these appointments. I was then openly belittled by another patient's mom and the people at the desk just sat back and WATCHED. Never going back. Never going to recommend them again. What an awful experience to have happen right in front of my children. My oldest who is 5 and aware of mommy's medical problems was asking me on the way back to the car why the dentist was trying to make mommy wear a mask if I couldn't. This was a violation of my rights under the American Disability Act. I am so devastated.

Ive left messages trying to get my son a appointment to have a dead baby tooth and inpacted baby tooth extracted. The dead tooth has an absess and we were referred here from our main dentist office. For something affecting a child that needs immediate attention they really dont seem to care enough to call back. Will be calling other places in the morning who actually care about helping a 5 yr old child!
