As a leading orthodontic practice serving Walnut Creek, CA and the surrounding areas, we're proud to offer a wide range of orthodontic treatments to patients of all ages. No matter what orthodontic situation you're facing, we'll work with you to help you achieve the smile of your dreams through a treatment that fits your lifestyle!

We're proud of every member of our team, but none of it could happen without our expert Walnut Creek orthodontist, Dr. Powers! Dr. Powers is an esteemed orthodontist who has been helping families throughout the Bay Area achieve better smiles for more than 10 years. Dr. Powers takes a compassionate approach to orthodontic care, and she strives to make treatment as convenient as possible. Dr. Powers is also a Premiere Provider of Invisalign. She was involved with the creators of Invisalign at the earliest stages of product development, giving her unparalleled insight and expertise into crafting world-class Invisalign treatments.

We know every patient is different, which is why we're proud to offer a variety of treatment options to suit even the most unique orthodontic needs and lifestyles. Whether you're looking for a simple, reliable form of treatment like braces or would like to pursue a more discrete option like Invisalign, your Walnut Creek orthodontist will work with you to help you choose the ideal treatment for your lifestyle and customize treatment to make the process convenient for you. We offer the following options for your orthodontic treatment:

Dr. Bridget Powers, Orthodontic Specialist, has served Walnut Creek and the Greater Bay Area since 1999 treating children, teens and adults. Before entering private practice in 1999, Dr. Powers was the sole research orthodontist at the then startup company Invisalign. The newly completed Smile Power building was developed taking into account Dr. Powers' 24 years of orthodontic experience. State of the Art 3D X-Ray technology, scanning technology, outcome modeling software, Invisalign, clear braces, traditional braces placed on the interior or exterior of the teeth, and accelerated treatment options are available to all patients. Finally, the new location is spacious enough to accommodate all local social distancing guidelines.

Many people who received care here as a child are now bringing their families for orthodontic care. Dr. Powers has been helping Bay Area families achieve their goals of a healthy, attractive smile for over 25 years.

Dr. Powers received a Masters degree and advanced orthodontic training at Northwestern University in Chicago. She received her dental degree from University of the Pacific in San Francisco, and she also attended local schools Diablo Valley College and University of California, Berkeley.

While the orthodontic profession has been established for over 100 years, Invisalign is a technology that has entered the field of orthodontics just within the last decade. Computer technology has been applied to orthodontics in place of or in conjunction with traditional braces. In the initial stages of the device, Dr. Powers worked with the innovators of Invisalign to advance the product development and set up clinical testing sites at universities in the United States.

A great education is a start in preparing for a successful career in orthodontics. Staying current with orthodontic advances and general dentistry is also a goal of Dr. Powers. She pursues continuing education courses within the area of orthodontics such as diagnostics, treatment planning, biomechanics, growth and development, as well as staying current on recent issues in practice management.

Dr. Powers married Ken, a California native and West Point graduate, in 2006. They were introduced by Kens family dentist. They reside in Walnut Creek with their children Samantha, Delaney and Jackson.

Orthodontics is an evolving science with frequent developments in techniques, technology and treatment. At Smile Power Orthodontics, we ensure that patients receive the most advanced orthodontic care. Our office regularly attends seminars and conferences devoted to orthodontic treatment, new technology and patient care. With patient care as our top priority, this is our commitment to you.

I have had a severe overbite my entire life since I was a child. This has affected me in many ways- chewing has been difficult, along with undiagnosed sleep apnea causing sleepless nights for years. I also had popping and clicking pain in my jaw. When I was 7-9 I wore braces and head gear- and not just at night, either. Then in middle school high school I went through another round of full braces and rubber bands to try to help with the overbite. While my teeth were straight, I was told my overbite was "surgical" and there was nothing else that could be done unless I got major surgery. I opted out at that time (18 years old) and put the idea of correcting my bite out of my mind for the next ten years. However the problems continued. Dr. Powers was the first orthodontist that thoroughly understood exactly what my problems were and didn't waste time trying to pull my jaw into place when it just can't be done. She talked me through getting braces a third time (which sounded horrible at the time but she explained exactly why it was necessary) and recommended sleep studies and an excellent Maxillofacial surgeon for me. I have now been in recovery from my surgery for about a month, and I can truly say that my quality of life, confidence, and breathing is already more improved than I could have ever predicted. As someone who has "been through it all" orthodontically, Dr Powers is the first doctor that has seen exactly what I needed, spoken directly and made me feel like I knew what was going on, and assisted me through every step of the jaw surgery journey. My teeth align, I don't look "buck toothed" anymore, and the most important thing of all is that I am sleeping through the night and my surgeon told me he was actually able to "completely cure" my sleep apnea and breathing troubles in this one surgery. I cannot wait to get my braces off soon and see the final results. My daughter is 5 and has the same overbite I did, but Dr Powers was able to get her started on a bionator to improve her bite earlier this year and it's already hugely improved- I'm hoping that she won't need a surgery since she got to Dr Powers so early in life. I cannot thank you enough, Smilepower!!!!

Dr Powers has run her office for 25+ years with efficiency and warmth. With her new office she has taken it to the next level. I have returned to her for my own orthodontic needs after utilizing her care for my 3, know grown kids. I would very much reccomend her to anyone young or a bit older needing to address orthodontic needs.

I am not a patient of Dr. Power, but a general dentist who had the pleasure of meeting the Dr. a few weeks ago at her state-of-the-art clinic. Dr. Power not only showed me her practice (which is a statement of her vision and dedication to her patients) but also showed me how she incorporates the latest technology in the care of her patients. Although my visit to her practice was meant to just meet her, I didn't expect it to turn into a learning experience. Although my practice is in San Jose, I will for sure refer my patients who need orthodontic treatment and live in the Walnut Creek region.

This is a business that is only interested in bilking you for as much money as possible while providing terrible customer service, ridiculously long wait times at each appointment and unethical billing practices. There is a multitude of other orthodontists in the same geographical area that will give the same or better results while also providing ethical services and billing practices. Do NOT give your business to Dr. Bridget Powers if you want to be treated like a respected valued customer. Smile Power Orthodontics is an unethical business and their only concern is your money.

At 47, got braces for my lowers and Invisalign for my uppers ahead of a needed implant. She could not have been more delightful to work with. She now is working with my daughter and it's been pretty smooth sailing. My 13-year old daughter has a hard time with her doctor and her dentist, but the staff -- and Dr Powers -- have made this the least hard of the three. Worth every nickel.

Dr. Powers is one of the kindest, most informed medical professionals I've ever worked with in trying to tackle my persistent sleep apnea issues. Highly recommended.

Both of my kids recently became patients of Dr Powers. We were very impressed with her professionalism, knowledge and kindness. She was very patient while answering all of our questions. I also have to mention Sara, her treatment coordinator and front desk staff. Thank you Dr Harmon for recommending them.

We paid upfront for our treatment but about halfway through the Dr said that she decided to stop the treatment due to lots of broken brakets (which did happen) without any real discussion or consultation. She was quite rude to me and aggressive. I already regretted to send my kid to this orthodontist at that point, so I decided to switch to a new orthodontist. My kid was uncomfortable with the retainer from Smile Power, but we had a new one made at our new ortodotist that was much more comfortable.

Smile Power is an extremely professional orthodonture practice. Dr. Powers and her skilled staff are not only talented practitioners but also time efficient, cheerful and gracious. My orthodontic treatment has been a delightful experience despite the necessary discomfort involved with having my teeth straightened. I am an older adult and elected to have metal prices (which are now a very different technology then years ago). I find that the skin inside my mouth is far more tender than it was as a teenager. I had braces them to. Dr. Powers and her staff have been very helpful in tucking in Poke wires etc. to keep me as comfortable as possible. I'm almost at the finish line and my teeth are looking great.

This is a case of you don't get what you pay for. Multiple times the doctor wanted to stop treatment but refused to refund. Now they dropped the case during COVID and still surprise billing us. Here's the worst part. The treatment that was done created more harm than good. We've transferred to a new orthodontist that was very concerned about the treatment Doctor Powers did do. Don't fall for the monthly charges, they make it impossible to get out of and claim not to be part of it. Get a second opinion on everything. This is a well oiled machine meant to make lots of money. Don't let them near your child in first grade. That's only meant to create a client for life.
