Dr. Josh is married to his wonderful wife, Teresa, and has three daughters. He enjoys taking advantage of all the activities Colorado has to offer, including, swimming, tennis, mountain biking and adventure racing. He is also an avid BYU, Broncos and Nuggets fan.
They are natives of Mesa, Arizona and Dr. Brik comes from a family of dentists. He received his Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University. He then completed dental school at the University of Southern California. The ensuing FIVE years, Dr. Brik was formally trained in both orthodontics and pediatric dentistry.
He then moved 5,000 miles to Buffalo, New York to complete a 3-year residency in orthodontics at the University of Buffalo. He will be graduating June 2016 with his Masters of Science, and specialty Certificate in Orthodontics.
He and Ashley have enjoyed immersing their family in every community they have lived. In Los Angeles, they became frequent fliers of Disneyland, beach trips, and attending popular television shows in Hollywood. They welcomed their first two children, Trey and Emery, during dental school with Emery being born the week of graduation. For the next couple of years, they enjoyed exploring the culture and beauty of Hawaii. Most recently, the Nielsens have been loving their east coast experience. They have been able to take advantage of DC, NYC, Boston, Adirondack Mountain Range, Philadelphia and others. In 2014 they welcomed Jackson, their Buffalo Baby into the family.
Dr. Lucas Carubia was born and raised in Monument, CO. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2015. He then completed a residency specializing in Pediatric Dentistry and Masters of Oral Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also recently obtained his MBA from LSU.
Dr. Carubia is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Association and Colorado Dental Association. He maintains a certification in basic, pediatric and adult advanced life support.
Dr. Lukes passion for helping children stemmed from his own experience of having extensive dental treatment at a very young age. He finds great reward in helping children and their parents navigate through their early dental care and education.
When Dr. Luke is not practicing dentistry, he loves spending time with his fianc Melissa and golden doodle Charlie. His hobbies include snowboarding, rafting, camping, trail riding, hiking and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He looks forward to giving back to the community that has given him so much!

The only thing more stressful than getting dental work done is getting dental work done on your kids, but I've never had a better experience than what we get at Smile. Our kiddo had to have some seriously not fun work done and Dr. Perrie is nothing short of amazing!! She and the hygienist treated our daughter so kindly, explained everything they were doing, and did everything possible to comfort her and make it as pleasant as possible. It's just an added bonus that the kids play area in front is super cool and my kiddo loves it.

Absolutely love all the staff here, Dr. Luke always makes my son feel at home and is very patient with his anxiety. I couldn't ask for a better dentistry to be at. Dr. Luke and Kat were so amazing, we will be recommending this office to everyone we know!

Beautiful office and facility! 3 kids in and out in under 30 minutes for a first time appointment and next appointments booked. The staff was great and I couldn't be happier with the overall experience!

My kids are very scared of dentist due to bad experience in the past. However, Dr Josh and his team are very compassionate, funny and well mannered. I love his personality and is amazing explanning issues or concerns his parents as well. 5 star place highly recommend it to anyone you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I had a horrible encounter with an employee here while in uniform. We were at the Kum and Go Gas Station waiting in line with our son when we keep hearing derogatory slurs from a gentleman behind us we thought it's kids being kids and we ignored the ignorance. But once we hear "look at these faggots" and "how are they allowed to have a kid with them" we knew it was being directed towards us. The name of this young was Jordan Bovey we learned it from the workers at Kum and go than confirmed from others at smile. We hope no one else has to experience this so we'd not recommend this dentistry to anyone especially knowing someone like him can work there and experience the same disrespect we did that day. If we could leave negative stars we would.

I really love this dental office. My 2 year old has a little stranger danger anxiety about new people and new situations. I was so worried that she wouldn't allow them to look in her mouth during the visit. The hygienist was amazing and talked her through everything. She now loves to go to their office. The dentist was very personable and talked with each of the kids individually about their oral health and with my husband and me.

Dr. Josh has been seeing both of our daughters for almost a decade now. He is THE ABSOLUTE BEST dentist and orthodontist. Dr. Josh and his dedicated and professional staff worked with my youngest, who has severe dental anxiety, and helped her patiently work through each appointment. Both girls just got their braces off in the past year or so, and our whole family couldn't be more grateful and thankful for his dedication, commitment, and compassion to his patients.

My daughter's experience today at SMILE was excellent! We usually go to the Monument office & see Dr. Josh & Dr. Brik, but we got to meet Dr. Luke today. He is just as friendly, kind, caring & fantastic as Dr. Josh & Dr. Brik. No matter which SMILE location you take your family to, you will have a top notch experience & your family will be in great hands.

I would give 6 stars if I could! My son has been going to Smile for his braces. Today we had a very unpleasant experience at another dentist (not smile). When I came in for his orthodontist appt. I asked if I could get a second opinion from them. They were so kind and went above and beyond to help us! Dr. Josh is always so friendly and patient. He did not rush and made sure my son was comfortable. He did an amazing job on my son's fillings! The dental hygienists were very patient and kind. They took the time to explain everything to us. The ladies in the front took the time to sort out my son's insurance. Everyone was so just kind and really helped turn our bad day into a good day! Most importantly my son feels much more comfortable here, he said he had no pain at all during his fillings, which very unfortunately wasn't his experience in the past. I would definitely recommend Smile for Orthodontics as well as Dental services!
