Dr. Nanjappa is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry. She obtained a Certificate in Orthodontics, a Certificate in Dental Biomaterials, and a Master of Science Degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, WI.
She has been licensed to practice in New Jersey since 1994. She also holds a New Jersey Specialty Permit for Orthodontics. Dr. Nanjappa is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is a certified Invisalign provider.
Our office is conveniently located on Essex Avenue (Route 27) in Metuchen, just North of Bridge Street, near Interstate 287 exit ramp. We are minutes from the Edison Costco and Wal-Mart, right next to the car wash on Essex Avenue, in between the two over-passes.

Cannot thank Dr.Sunitha Nanjappa enough for the great work she has done to my daughter's teeth. When she was 7 years old she had several complicated issues teeth coming out of order and front teeth worn out. She did not have bite. Her mom and me were very much worried how her teeth and smile will turn out to be as she grew. Was very happy to find Dr.Sunitha Nanjappa in insurance listing with excellent qualifications. Initial appointment was easy and frontdesk SmileOrthodontics staff were cheerful, welcoming and very helpful. Doctor made initial assessment and planned the treatment for my daughter over next several years. My daughter had old teeth removed and dental impressions done. Then Doctor setup braces. Every month Doctor would adjust her braces initially. After couple of years she had another set of braces made by Doctor. After three years she now has wonderfully aligned teeth and bite. Doctor continues to care for my daughter with dental retainers to keep her teeth in place now also. We are very happy with our Daughter's smile and teeth today all because of Dr.Nanjappa. It was Godsend to have Dr.Nanjappa as my daughter's dentist. She has a happy wonderful way of caring for her little patients and parents. Have recommended Dr.Sunitha Nanjappa to my friends and would recommend Dr.Nanjappa and SmileOrthodontics to everyone worried about Children's teeth.

I had a great treatment experience! The staff is so friendly and accomodative, and Dr. Nanjappa is experienced and knowledgable. I finished my braces period within 1.5 years. They were able to provide ceramic braces (for cosmetic reason).

We used this office for both our kids' orthodontics services. Dr. Nanjappa is very caring & has excellent attention to detail. We would highly recommend them for any orthodontic needs. For example: 1. She detected any issues with our kid's brushing patterns, despite this not being in her scope. 2. She also identified an issue with our son's tongue layout, which even our dentist and hygienist never observed - and she was right! Such timely intervention helped our kids' overall development; for which we are very grateful for her. She has very friendly and supportive staff as well, whom the kids' look forward to meeting with. We are very grateful for her help with our kids' dental needs. We highly recommend Smile Orthodontics to anyone who needs orthodontic services.
