My name is Dr. Vallerie Kee and I have been a dentist in Frederick, Maryland for over 25years. In fact, I am the first African-American female dentist to practice inFrederick, Maryland. Here atSmile N Style Dental, we arecommitted to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment thatis a dental home to patients of all races, colors, religions, genders/gender identities, sexual orientation, ages, and abilities. I believe in treating my patients just asI would treat my family. As such, you can expect gentle, compassionate, and honest care.
I began my career in dentistry as a dental assistant while still in high school. Shortly thereafter, I received a merit scholarship to study dental hygiene at Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C.While, a dental hygienist I fell in love with dentistry, and even more with the relationships I built with my patients. I continued on to theDental Surgery Program at my alma mater and today continue to see patients that I first met as a hygienist.
As both a dental hygienist and a dentist, I am committed to ensuring that my patients have both healthy and beautiful smiles. Here, at Smile N Style Dental we offer many dental services, including but not limited tohygiene care, fillings, crown & bridge, implants, and short-term orthodontic options.
I've been a patient of Dr. Kee since 1998. Dr. Kee is transparent and informative with the care she provides. She explains issues and provides available options. I have referred several colleagues and friends to her practice, based on her exemplary work.

Excellent service every time. Dr. Kee and staff are very hospitable, greeting you with a smile as indicated by their name, (Smile N Style). They were also careful to follow MD's health guidelines as well as valued my time. If you're looking for a dentist, give this establishment a try.

I've been going to Dr Kee for almost 20 years. Her and her staff have always been pleasant and welcoming, and Dr Kee's skills as a dentist are what you want in someone who's poking around your teeth. She's gentle while also getting it done right. Highly recommended.

These guys are great! The office was remarkably clean. The staff were still wearing masks and had practicing excellent infection control. This is a plus for me! My last office did not take covid seriously so seeing how safe and clean they are is refreshing. The appointment wait time was under 10 minutes. I was greeted by Ali who came is a gem. Dr. Kee is awesome! She's a registered dental hygienist and a dentist. Super knowledgeable and informative. Together we discussed all my options and decided on a plan. After my appointment I was given a treatment plan explaining everything discussed so we didn't have to leave it to memory. Dr. Kee was compassionate and gentle with me. Nice and straight forward just like what I needed. Definitely will be returning.

I had a great visit here. The staff was very personable. They took time and the entire staff was super knowledgeable and helpful. This was undeniably the best cleaning I have ever had at the dentist. Most dentists rush you through. After this one cleaning, I could tell my teeth were smoother and whiter (*yay!). A BIG plus for me was how serious they are about prioritizing patient health. They book extra time into their schedule so that patients do not run into each other in the waiting room. I was seen on time and was impressed by the level of cleanliness. Also, the modern tech is so so amazing here. All digital from forms to x-rays. Really streamlined the overall experience for me. Love!

I have been a patient for years with Smile N Style. Dr Kee is always accommodating. She gives the best service breaking down my dental needs. Even though I never like going to the dentist I feel like I'm in good hands with her.

Lovely staff. I felt like I mattered for the first time in a long time. Our conversation went beyond dentistry and I truly appreciate it. I have suffered from extreme anxiety for so long and the friendliness helps with that. I haven't taken the best care of my teeth over the years but she helped me not be so ashamed and gave me actual solutions.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kee for a few years now and have finally taken the long overdue time to share my experience. In my experiences she has always been very fair and reasonable. Also, my teeth have never looked better. I have grown to really trust her and have never felt pressured into any decision. A BIG bonus is her staff is really really nice and patient with me. I can be a pain, but they have really made me feel comfortable and have alleviated a lot of my anxiety.

My initial visit was ok although I felt a natural aggressive personality trait from the dentist. When I brought my kids, there was an issue with my son and a wrong birth date with my insurance, I called and my insurance told me where to advise Dr.Kee and her staff to go on the website to confirm he was covered and they refused. I still need some dental work myself and to have some work she did (less than a year ago) corrected but have been reluctant to go back because of the rude and unprofessionalism demeanor displayed by Dr.Kee. I needed an emergency tooth extraction or root canal the other day and was calling a few places to try and get a "starting" quote. They were the third place I called and the only ones who refused to give me an idea of the cost for a tooth extraction over the phone. And I understand there's a price for in office and with an oral surgeon, I just wanted an idea because I pay out of pocket. Dr.Kee very rudly and aggressively got on the phone and advised me that they can't give me an idea and need to go to lunch and will contact me later. I understand needing to go to lunch but there was a much better way to handle that call without being so rude. I've given a lot of money to that practice and to be treated so poorly is disappointing to say the least. I was contacted about 3 hours later but at that time had already gone to another provider who not only gave me a quote over the phone prior to me coming in but who was also the friendliest and most warm welcoming staff ever. Will not be returning with myself or my kids to Dr. Kee. Unfortunately, with state insurance practices, you get what you pay for. * I'm not sure how to respond to the dentist's response so I will do it here. I wasn't asking for a root canal, a simple starting price for a tooth extraction. Key word, starting price. I didn't initially see you 4 years ago, so I didn't schedule an appointment for my children two years after I saw you first, I would have been pregnant with my son. You all were rudely refusing to figure out what was going on with his insurance and told me to take care if it. I called them and they advised me what you all needed to do and you all refused. Hence why I never brought him back. As an adult and a "professional" it's unfortunate you feel the need to lie about me because I wrote a negative review. Not once did I scream, disrespect or use profanity to you or your receptionist. It was in fact you Dr.Kee, who got on the phone and once again aggressively disrespected me and ended the conversation because you all needed to go to lunch. If I was being so disrespectful, screaming and using profanity, why did you all call me back to schedule an appointment? Or leave a voicemail when I didn't answer advising you could no longer see me because I was disrespectful and using profanity? Your obserd accusations aren't adding up. Please don't speak on my character so negatively like you've never gotten a bad review. Good day ***April 2021*** My daughter had a routine exam March 15th with her dentist she's been with since the time with Smile n Style.. When my daughter had her visit here, it was recommended by Dr.Key to put sealants on 4 of her teeth to help prevent potential future cavities. I agreed. Well, we found out on our March 15th visit, that she in fact has cavities on the 4 teeth that Dr.Key said she put sealants on. Her new dentist said it appears sealants were never even put on. She got paid to do a service she never did and now my daughter has cavities for the first time ever. Stay away from this place for so many reasons. Not only is the dentist rude and unprofessional, she doesn't even do her job. The "work" she did to my teeth fell apart/off years ago and I paid her thousands out of pocket. STAY AWAY

I am fairly new to Frederick, MD originating from sunny Florida. I have been here for almost 2 years and Dr. Kee is AWESOME. My time is valuable and appreciated and Dr. Kee works fast and efficiently I am able to have my Dental work in a timely matter. The office staff is always nice and professional. I am always reminded about my appointments timely. I can't say enough about Dr. Kee....when she starts work on my mouth she is considerate to my pain level and the technique she uses to numb my mouth. She is fast with working on my mouth and not only fast but quality is the best. I am super happy to be a patient of Smile N Style dental...they have been vigilant through the pandemic and have kept my safety first and foremost. I can't express how happy I am with the service, customer service and professionalism.

I have been in Frederick for a few years and One of the best decisions I ever made was choosing her or we choosing each other. She talks and explains everything she is doing. She does stay on you. No matter how good your teeth look you can do better, lol. She cares about her patients. She makes you feel like your family and friends. It's a family affair her family works there with her and they are very warm and inviting. I would lose my mind if I ever lost my DR.KEE LOL. You can't go wrong She is the best dentist I have ever had and I'm 50 so I have had a few. Keeping doing what you do DR. cause I rock with you. Love Rico.

As Always, Dr. Kee and her staff continue to go above and beyond the call of duty. My grandparents and I travel at least 45 minutes to visit her dental practice. It is so worth it!!! Her attention to detail and overall care for us, is what counts the most. Try her, you won't be disappointed!

I'm leaving my second visit with Dr. Kee. She is exceptional! My first was for a routine cleaning and today, I received a fill-in. She did all she could to make me comfortable due to seasonal congestion. Dr. Kee is a personable physician that gets to know you as she cares for your oral care. Personally, I prefer a physician who builds trust, relationship and provides honest input medical care plan. There's no long wait, and they respond timely to calls. I hope to be a patient for a long time!

I had a great first experience here today. The office seems to run on time because I was taken back at my exact appointment time. Dr. Kee spent what must have been at least 30 minutes on my exam and discussing my treatment plan. My cleaning was very thorough and detailed. It felt like years were lifted off of my teeth. Overall, I am a very anxious person and tend to be very nervous when it comes to dental appointments but I was as comfortable as I could be in a dental chair LOL.

This is my 4th or 5th visit to this dental office and I realized I have never written a review. Don't let the humbleness fool you, they know what they are doing here! I think Dr. Kee deserves the utmost of accolades. She has always demonstrated that she cares and has even provided me with free services for things that I have broken (my own fault, biting on crabs). I am pleased to be a patient here and recommend her to all my coworkers
