Smile Matters! – Preet Sahota DDS Fremont Dentist - General dentist in Fremont, CA

Born and raised in India, Preet migrated to the States in 1991, eventually becoming a citizen. Her passion for dentistry bloomed late, since the early years involved many terrifying trips to the Army Dentists in India. While her sweet tooth introduced her to dentistry, the interest didnt take root until later. To date her favorite compliment is You are really like a doctor (not a dentist)!

Becoming the Physician of the mouth is the culmination of lifelong learning and particularly that of learning the art of connecting the dots. She brings to her practice a unique mix of eastern influences and western training. She earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S) from University of the Pacifics Arthur D. Dugoni School of Dentistry and also holds a Doctorate (B.D.S) accredited by Kuvempu University in Karnataka, India. She has practiced dentistry in the Bay Area since 2002, with the inception of Smile Matters, her private practice, in June, 2007. She has trained, at LVI ( Las Vegas Institute ) in Neuromuscular Dentistry, Sleep Disordered Breathing, Sleep Apnea and much more. ( 2003 to present ), to stay at the leading edge of progressive dentistry. While she chose to be a General dentist, Dr. Sahotas practice is very unique with technologies and treatments that may seem revolutionary to those who havent seen a dentist in a while. She considers herself blessed to share her life with her husband, Mac Sahota, a physicist by training and their lovely daughter. Free time is directed towards her interests in all things science and art.

As I travel through this privileged journey we call, the human life, I cant help but live in gratitude. Knowing that when Life was created, it was not designed to see doctors, being one, puts me in a very special position and I dont take this honor lightly. As I broaden my expertise daily ( hence, the name, private practice!), I am continually intrigued and humbled by the elegance, intricacies, and the miracles of nature.

As a mere human, trying to restore a state of dis-ease ( disease ) to a state of ease, I struggle to come a close second. The endeavor, then re-directs towards prevention and conservative restoration, if needed. That endeavor, thus makes each one of my patients (my guests, really), my partners, in being a guardian of their privileged well being, making me merely an expert guide and caregiver.

A smile is a universal language, a smile can befriend, relieve stress, release endorphins and beg attention! At my practice, humor is important, we like to induce laughter, create reasons to smile and inspire people to smile for no reason. When people overcome dental phobia and no longer need sedatives, can live pain free, with improved self-esteem, we witness life altering moments. When smiles are enhanced (Cosmetic and orthodontic smile makeovers) and chronic pain related to TMD is alleviated, hugs and tears are commonplace. A smile is one curve that can set things straight!

As mentioned in our Mission statement, my goal is to stay current with technology that helps me deliver care painlessly and efficiently, with minimal collateral damage. Digital radiography, Lasers, CAD CAM technology, digital software and Ultra low frequency Trans Electrical Neural Stimulation (TENS) help deliver restorative dentistry conservatively. All the advents of science are used to work with nature, not against it.

Touching upon prevention again, it cannot be emphasized enough. Oral cancer screenings every six months and screenings for sleep disordered breathing, along with sleep apnea can, not only, prolong, but also improve the quality of life. The role of a dentist in helping diagnose chronic systemic diseases is often under-estimated. The oral-systemic link is very well established, it is no surprise, since the body is a contiguous entity.

As a principal, my goal is always to seek the cause and treat it, and not get distracted by treating merely the symptoms. If it means tracking a symptom back to immune system, the hormone imbalance, airway compromise or posture issues, I dont shy away from delving into it. All attempts are made to work synergistically with Physicians, Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Myofunctional Therapists,Physical therapists and Nutritionists, to help our guests smile. Due to immense side effects, usage of drugs is limited to judicious necessity, as with Surgery.

Dr. Preet Sahota is very professional. She went over my dental plan with me and explained the procedures. We looked at my x-rays together and discussed all options available to me and then chose the best option for me. They took time in answering my questions and made me feel very comfortable. I will recommend Smile Matters to my friends and family.

I am a new patient with Smile Matters. I recently moved to Fremont and found the location convenient. I am happy I stopped in. I was also very pleased to find that I could have an appointment within the same week. Each person I spoke with was very nice and informative as well as helpful. The person who took care of me during the examination and cleaning was good. I had a warm welcome from Dr. Sahota and she helped me solve an issue with my teeth. She is amazing! I look forward to continuing with this office.

I love Smile Matters! Everyone you encounter is so friendly, knowledgeable and great at their roles in this dental family. Dr. Sahota is my dentist and he (along with the staff) have gone beyond what I'm used to in patient care. He educates me on what problem areas should be addressed, but is never pushy, and that goes a very long way with me. Dental health is so important and everyone here is so good at making you feel comfortable. Thank you!

I had a terrific experience at Smile Matters during my first visit. They were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. In contrast to other places that I've been to, they were quite clear about what they were doing and why. My teeth were examined by the dentist and he suggested that I need a back tooth with a crack be replaced with a crown. I understood the need for the crown after seeing the xray and hearing his explanation. I opted to have it done sooner than later. The staff is really welcoming. If you're looking for a dentist around Sundale, he is the man.

It's hard for me to describe my great fear of all things related to dentistry. The staff at this office made me feel safe, comfortable and had no judgment. The prices were exceptionally reasonable. Dr. Sahota is a spectacular dentist. He made my experience and every part of it more bearable. I couldn't recommend this office high enough.

Dr. Sahota and his staff were very courteous. I was very comfortable and happy to have them treat me for my dental work. My exam and cleaning went smooth, they really did a great job. My visit today was hands down the best visit you could have going to the dentist. I was in and out before I knew it. And I couldn't have asked for nicer people. I recommend for everyone that lives in the area to go to him for your dental needs.

All the staff were extremely nice. The office is clean. Doctor Sahota was very professional. He explained the procedure very clear and the tooth was removed very fast. I felt no pain or discomfort during the procedure. Best dentist visit I've ever experienced! He also checked up on me after the procedure to see how I was doing which is highly appreciated. Apparently, he does not do unnecessary work just to get your money. I will definitely see him again and would recommend him to my family.

My family and I have been going at Dr. Sahota for many times now. And as always, we are treated with the best care and professional treatment one could ask for. They advise you on things to help take better care of your teeth. Like most people, the dentist office is not our most favorite place to be, but they are good at making your visit as comfortable as it can be. It is truly a great place. Great people too.

I recently relocated to Fremont and needed to find a new dentist. I came here for a cleaning and I have to say, Dr. Sahota and his staff are really customer-focused and welcoming. To ensure a safe and comfortable visit, the place is kept clean. The people working at the front desk were kind and energetic. All of my queries were answered by Dr. Sahota. I will undoubtedly recommend this dental clinic to others.

The best dentist I ever met. Dr. Preet is so kind, gentle, sweet and knowledgeable she always make me feel super comfortable on each appointment. Her staff is also very helpful friendly and polite. Before I met Dr Preet I used to dread at the thought of going to the dentist. Now, thanks to the pleasant experiences at her office, those feelings have been replaced by positives thoughts of self care.
