A pioneer in modern dentistry for over 25 years! Dr. Kallas earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DDS) degree in 1989. In 1993, he graduated from the Howard University College of Dentistry postdoctoral program. While there, he completed his internship at the District of Columbia General Hospital. Since then, he has pursued inter-related continuing education courses, focusing on becoming a premier provider of advanced and comprehensive aesthetic dentistry.
Dr. Kallas realized early in his career that the technologies, materials, and procedures of general dentistry werent reaching the high threshold of quality care he had established for himself. He quickly learned that the techniques and materials used in cosmetic dentistry were stronger, healthier, and could also be applied to general dentistry for better, longer-lasting, and more attractive results.
As a result, he pursued advanced training at the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) for Advanced Dental Studies, a leader in providing aesthetic and neuromuscular dentists with the high level of skills necessary to successfully practice the art. Today, he is among only two percent of dentists in the world to have achieved this level of training.
A proponent of advanced training, Dr. Kallas makes sure that his dental team receives the most advanced dental education. Hygienists, assistants, and administrative personnel have been trained in the latest clinical techniques. Education is a continuing mission of the team, and they will do everything possible to ensure that you receive the best personalized care.
Named the Virginia Dentist of the Year, Dr. Kallas understands the difference an incredible smile can make in someones appearance and confidence. Dr. Kallas is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society, the American Academy of Laser Dentistry, the International Association for Orthodontics, the American Association of Functional Orthodontics, the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, and the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kallas spends his time with his wife and two sons. He enjoys traveling and working out, and is an avid fan of the Manchester United Soccer Club. Dr. Kallas serves as a board member for several non-profit organizations.
Dr. Hamzah Alghazali graduated from Baghdad University in 2012. After practicing dentistry in Iraq, he moved to the United States. Dr. Alghazali continued his education in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) post-graduate program at Columbia University in New York, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS).
Dr. Alghazali has a passion for dentistry and improving the oral health of his patients. He strives to improve his patients perception of what dentistry can offer through a comfortable, predictable, and easy-going experience.
Dr. Alghazali performs all aspects of adult and pediatric general dentistry including dental hygiene, fillings, crowns, oral cancer screenings, root canals, emergency dentistry, and Invisalign treatment. In addition, he specializes in cosmetic dentistry including dental implants restorations, bonding, veneers, and teeth whitening.
Dr. Tareq Yousef is a native of Northern Virginia. In 2020, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry. While at Howard University, Dr. Yousef was a part of the Academic Excellence Committee and took part in multiple dental mission trips to help treat low-income individuals with their oral health. Dr. Yousef spent one year in a general practice residency at St. Elizabeths Hospital learning and performing complex cases.
Dr. Yousef strives to make a patients dental visit comfortable and educational. According to Dr. Yousef, transparency is key in providing comfort and knowledge to patients. My overall goal is to treat every patient as I would treat my family.
Dr. Khashayar Changi completed his specialty training in Periodontics at the prestigious Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. His residency program provided him with the capability to diagnose and manage all types of periodontal and peri-implantitis diseases and conditions. Proficient in both non-surgical and surgical periodontal treatment modalities, Dr. Changi has had extensive instruction and experience in all facets of oral implantology, treatment of gum recession and gum grafting, immediate and delayed implant placement, digital treatment planning, guided bone regeneration, implant temporization, and management of peri-implant disease.
His approach to patient treatment includes a comprehensive multi-disciplinary method, designed to customize the patient treatment and experience. Dr. Changi always looks for the best outcome for his patients.
Dr. Yamaguchi was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She graduated from Nihon University School of Dentistry in Tokyo in 2008. Dr. Yamaguchi practiced for four years as a general dentist after completing her one one-year general practice residency.
In 2012, she moved to the United States to embark upon her chosen career path in endodontics. She was accepted into the post-graduate endodontics program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where she received her Certificate of Endodontics in June 2015. There, Dr. Yamaguchi was published in the Journal of Endodontics, refined her surgery skills, and taught several undergraduate classes in the School of Dentistry as well as Continuing Education courses in Microsurgery.

It is her goal to equip every child with the tools they need to maintain good oral hygiene and to ensure that they enjoy visiting the dentist! Driven by her passion for pediatrics, Dr. Anna has been working with children since the beginning of her education in dentistry. She focused on pediatric, patient-centered studies including working with the Infant Oral Health Care Club and the Craniofacial Center. Her dedication to caring for children led her to pursue her specialty in Pediatric Dentistry at Nova Southeastern University where she served as Chief Resident. As part of her residency, Dr. Anna excelled at providing care to children with autism.
Dr. Anna strives to make sure children have a safe and positive experience at the dentist. As a loving mother of two herself, she can relate to the feelings parents have when theyre making decisions about their childrens healthcare. Shes passionate about helping children overcome their fear of the dentist and teaching them how to have the best oral health possible.

Worst cleaning of my life ever, it was painful, some bleeding, and the teeth didn't even feel clean. Also, they keep claiming I have multiple cavities event though my appointment at a previous dentist said I had none.

Dr. Alghazali gave me a bridge to replace several loose front teeth in inflamed gums. The procedure also resolved a long-standing problem with plaque. I am very satisfied with the results and with his post-operative care.

Too many doctor canceled appointments! When I make an appointmnet, I need to arrange for transportation which is not cancelleable after requesting. Did not appreciate that total costs were very misleading. Found a better, caring dental practice with good communication, less emails, texts and phone calls. Will not be back. And to think my caring dentist sold his practice to this group! Very disappointed!

If you are looking for a world class dentist or are considering Invisalign, stop what you are doing and call Smile Makers Dental Center immediately. Dr. Kallas and his staff are absolutely wonderful. It has hands down been the best dental experience I have ever had. I moved to northern Virginia about five years ago, and unfortunately put off going to the dentist for way too long. I was in desperate need of a cleaning, had bleeding gums, and some tooth pain in one of my rear molars. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kallas in the Tysons Corner office, because my wife had a great experience at the Falls Church office and I work in Tysons Corner. Am I glad I made that appointment! Dr. Kallas and his outstanding team fixed me right up. Their office is immaculate, they use the latest technology, and explain everything they are doing in great detail. If you have had bad experiences with dentists in the past or hate going to the dentist in general, you really need to check our Smile Makers. Dr. Kallas is a perfectionist. He filled the cavity that was causing my tooth pain using a composite resin and you can barely tell any work was ever done! The color match was perfect. I have had the filling for two years now and have had zero issues. His team also addressed my gum issues and gave me a handsome smile that I will have for the rest of my life. It turns out I had early stages of gum recession caused by years of neglect and a misaligned bite. I had never had orthodontia before but have always been interested, because I had a gap in my upper front teeth and several of my other teeth on the top and bottom had rotated - which contributed to my gum issues. Dr. Kallas introduced me to Invisalign. I have to say I am 1,000% satisfied and wish I would have done it sooner. I am a professional who meets with clients regularly, so having a perfect smile has given me much greater confidence. One of the first thing people notice when they meet you is your teeth. Dr. Kallas was able to give me a natural, bright, and perfect smile using Invisalign technology. You definitely get what you pay for. Don't go for lower cost options - you just won't be happy. My Invisalign experience was wonderful. Dr. Kallas and his team will give you the attention and service that you deserve. They did progress checks with me weekly for the first stage of the alignment to make sure everything was going smoothly and made some adjustments as we went along. You get a new aligner every week when you do your progress check visits (for the first month or so), then depending on how you are doing Dr. Kallas may send you home with several months' worth of aligners. The treatment length can vary based on your personal needs. For me it was about a year and a half total. All I can say is WOW based on the results. My gap is gone and all of my teeth or aligned perfectly. I never realized how bad my old bite was until I finished the process. Invisalign was totally worth it and would recommend it to anyone who is considering it. Thank you again to you and your team Dr. Kallas. You have made me very happy with my new smile.

Dr. Hamza AlGhazali is a very professional and friendly dentist. He did a great job overseeing my Invisalign treatment. He spends a good amount of time during each visit. Unlike some other dentists, he doesn't exaggerate about what your teeth need so you can trust his opinion. He also does a great job with cleaning. I highly recommend him. And finally, the staff are really friendly and the office is run very smoothly.

To whom it may concern, I had an appointment in 6/21 at 10:30 in the morning and came at 10:15 and I was waiting until 11 and I was not called to come in at the doctor. From the clinic due to poor standards and wasting my time for no benefit. Are auditors treated to this degree, especially after deducting the insurance amount???

Carla, I have called your office over 10x in the past month and left a message for you each time. You stated that you would follow up regarding two matters. But you never returned my messages, nor did other staff, such as Ashley, and according to my insurance you also did not follow up with them via phone as requested and you agreed upon. Your behavior is unprofessional and discourteous. My insurance has stated I am to ask the dentist's office for the two things I requested and I have stated what my insurance said explicitly to you three times and to Ashley. You have demonstrated zero respect for my time and for me as a patient. Getting care and getting questions answered regarding my care should not be this stressful or hard. I will not share my name so as to protect my privacy. But our conversation one month ago did not leave room for a grey area. You stated you would do something which I clarified several times and you simply did not and nor did you or other staff communicate anything in the past month plus. Please do not respond to this review with a public apology or publicly at all because that does not demonstrate any remorse. If you actually wish to demonstrate contrition, then kindly actually address the issue at hand and rectify the situation as best as it can by considering it has been well over a month.
