Some people have a job, other people have a passion. Dr. Gavin Ewing pursues excellence in dentistry every day, driven by his love for helping his patients, developing his skills, and creating meaningful relationships with his patients.

Dr. Gavin Ewing found dentistry when he was invited to shadow his mentor and family dentist in junior year of college. He was immediately attracted to the opportunity to make an impact on patients lives through providing excellent dental care. He finished his BS degree in Chemistry at The College of New Jersey and continued his education at Columbia College of Dental Medicine. At Columbia he was active in student government and did research on helping patients manage their dental anxiety. He really enjoyed the pay it forward culture of the school.

Dr. Gavin Ewing graduated from Columbia in the top nine of his class and in doing so what inducted to the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National dental honor society. He then pursued clinical excellence by attending the general practice residency at Sepulveda VA, near Los Angeles. In this residency he acquired advanced training in endodontics, oral surgery, implants, and full mouth rehabilitation by working closely with a team of specialist mentors.

After residency, Dr. Gavin Ewing moved to Alameda in order to chase better wind conditions for one of his other loves, kitesurfing. He managed an office in Pleasanton for a group practice where he quickly became a clinical director for the group and shared his passion and expertise with other dentists.

In January 2019, Dr. Gavin Ewing met Dr. Brown and he was thrilled to be given the chance to take over Dr. Browns practice when Dr. Brown retired. Dr. Gavin Ewing is excited to now have his long-term dental home. He looks forward to making a positive impact on his patients lives by providing caring, comprehensive, quality dental work.

Dr. Ryan Reyes is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to Periodontal Specialty Services, Dr. Reyes also provides treatment for dental implants and oral surgery. Dr. Reyes and his surgical team focuses on providing the highest quality treatment in Periodontal and Oral Surgery in a soothing and comfortable environment.

Dr. Reyes strongly believes in finding new techniques that increase his patients comfort. He is a Pinhole Certified Periodontist, which is a scalpel free, suture free procedure to correct gum recession. Dr. Reyes obtained his oral sedation license which allows his patients the option of being put into a sleep like for surgical procedures. Dr. Reyes stays abreast of the latest innovations in Periodontics by attending numerous continuing education courses. In addition to the surgical procedures he offers, this year Dr. Reyes will be offering Botox services to his patients!

Prior to dental school, Dr. Reyes was a veterinary assistant, as he has a love for animals. Outside the dental office, Dr. Reyes enjoys Yoga and Holistic Medicine. When he is not seeing patients, you can often find him in the water surfing, enjoying everything the beautiful California beaches have to offer.

I started my dental career as a Registered Dental Assistant graduating from DVC and joined Smile Makers Dental Care 29 years ago! I enjoy cooking, traveling, and cycling, both indoors and out, having completed the Tour de Cure for Diabetes, a 50-mile ride. I really enjoy my job and working with Dr. Ewing. Our patients are the greatest and I have known them for so long that they are like family to me.

I grew up in a dental family; both of my parents were dentists! I started as a dental technician before graduating from DVCs Dental Hygiene program. Helping people to achieve optimal oral health brings great satisfaction to me. I am married with two children, and I really want a dog, too. Outside of the office, I am busy with kids, running the household and cooking. I enjoy spending time with friends, reading, and taking fitness classes.

I like to spend time with my family and friends. Like to play and also watch soccer, watch movies. I like to do activities such as hiking, riding and Bike camping with family and friends and some fishing.

I have been a dental assistant for a year since 2018 throughout my course. I have earned my certification in coronal polish, dental X-ray, and dental sealants. I enjoy dentistry as I get to learn new things every day. My passion for dentistry lies in helping patients achieve a healthy and beautiful smile. I enjoy working with people and making them feel comfortable. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies in Netflix, and spending time with my family.
