Dr. Rai loves dentistry and more importantly his patients. Smile Loft is not only his vision but also his passion. Under his direction, every day, the staff strives to make the practice more welcoming, caring and comfortable dental experience for all the guests. His approach to your treatment starts with patiently listening to you. Then, after a complete and thorough examination, he reviews and discusses the diagnosis and treatment options with you. His goal is to make each and every patient feel comfortable.
Dr. Rai graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry and was inducted into the prestigious National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. After dental school, Dr. Rai continued his education and completed an additional one year of specialized training in general and cosmetic dentistry at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Hospital. In April 2013, He acquired Dr. Stephen Kleimans practice and founded Smile Loft Laurel with emphasis on patient comfort and pain free dentistry. In November 2014, he collaborated with Dr. Kayshap Patel to open his second office -Smile Loft Branch Ave. In April 2016, Dr. Rai opened Smile Loft Office in the heart of downtown Bethesda.
Dr. Rai believes in keeping up-to-date with the all latest advancements in dentistry that enable him to provide his patients with the best quality of care. For that Dr. Rai has participated in many continuing education at the post-doctorate level and have gained wide range of experience in different areas of dentistry. He is procient in all cosmetic and restorative procedures along with surgical and root canal therapies. Whatever your treatment needs maybe, Dr. Rai will always take the time to explain all the options and make you feel comfortable.
In his free time, Dr. Rai like to spend his time with his wife Christine and his baby daughter Isabella. Christine played a signicant role in acquisition and opening of all three braches ofSmile Loft.Dr. Rai and Christine are expecting their second daughter in June 2016.

This was my second visit. Not only was the front desk staff very rude they also spoke very loudly about how they felt about me being late to my appointment by 15 minutes. I was called twice within the 15 minutes of me arriving to my appointment late the second call I spoke with one of the women at the front and told her I was 5 minutes away, then as I went to ask her what's the grace period for late arrivals she hung up on me. Once I finally arrived she immediately stated as I walked through the door I could not be seen, but as I was walking in the door she was calling me. I asked to speak with a manager as the manager sat right behind the women they proceeded to an office closed the fort then the manager decided she wanted to speak to me. She put her hand up at me to tell me to hold on before I started talking to tell me she was going to see if they can still see me today. With all the being said I have the owners information and will be giving him the whole story.

I really felt welcomed as a new patient today. The Hygienist and Dentist had a beautiful personality. MY needs were satisfied. I'm looking forward to my dental plan and can't wait to see the finished results

I absolutely love smile loft. I am afraid of the Dentist and Dr. Sharma and the ladies he work with are amazing. The office is nice and the staff is Professional. It eased my fear and anxiety. And things I needed done are being completed. Update: 9/20/22 It's like once Dr. Sharma moved to the other office this place became so unprofessional. I had so many plans with him and began the process to straighten my teeth. And 2 visits of me taking off from work because the MD for invisalign is only there on Tuesdays and my time was wasted. Even after me calling multiple times and me speaking with people about my alleged plan. Dr. Reddy didn't see me when I came today. I am so upset because I genuinely have anxiety about the dentist and thought I found my place. Thought I found somewhere I can go and be comfortable. But I hate to say due to the unprofessionalism and inconsiderateness I can't go back.

I've been going to Smile Loft forever and have always been pleased with their work. Today I went in for a cavity which ended up needing a root canal. The dentist fit me into his schedule and fixed it for me right away.

*This review received a low rating based off of my experience with the billing system and untimely notifications of balances due.* Beautiful establishment, very clean with decent staff. I enjoyed my time here and planned on continuing to use services even after moving 35 miles away (to support a minority owned business that made my visits comfortable). Their billing system is new but out of date as I had to reach out to them for a refund for overpayment .. only to find that I had a balance from a year ago. I do not recommend using Smile Loft of Laurel as your dental provider unless you aren't afraid of losing money.

Horrible first experience. Was waiting for 2 hours got xray. They didn't even clen my teeth. Even with confirming three tines they had me with some substitute. That person was trying to sale everything to me.
