I have the opportunity to watch children grow up in the practice, fromthe time their first tooth erupts to the time they graduate high school. It is an honor to be part of each childs life, sharing in their adventures and dreams: I love that I spend my days with such amazing people and get to help them develop healthy, confident smiles!
Dr. Carrasco has practiced dentistry since 2008. She was a general dentist in the U.S. Air Force until 2013, when she decided to pursue her specialty training in pediatric dentistry. She is passionate about establishing positive dental experiences early in a childs life, through gentle, compassionate, team-approached care.
Throughout the year, Dr. Carrasco participates in seminars, attends meetings and lectures, and stays up-to-date with the latest research. This commitment to constantly furthering her knowledge ensures she is providing the latest, proven treatment to her patients.
After growing up in Oxnard, California, and being stationed overseas while in the Air Force, Dr. Carrasco now resides in Richardson with her family. She and her husband, Ernie, have two children, Ernie Jr. and Noah. Herfamily also includes their two Maltese dogs, Coconut and Tiger, and their German Shepherd, Rex.
Most of Dr. Carrascos days start with working out at the gym. Otherwise, she can be found watching movies, cooking, reading, and attending sporting events. Above all, she values time with her family, whether theyre relaxing at home or traveling together.
From our front office through our dental assistants, doctor, and manager, each person is dedicated to providing the most supportive and welcoming atmosphere. We treat each child gently and compassionately, respecting the individuals needs and always placing their wellbeing as the top priority.

Both of my boys play basketball and their dad is coach of their team. We spend a lot of time at practice and games! I love to cook a whole, hearty family breakfast on weekends and enjoy family trips, too.
Welcome to Smile Island Dental! Im Sheila, a Dental Assistant, and I work in our clinic assisting the doctor with patient care. I love sharing time with kids and hearing all their stories. I want our patients to enjoy their visits and to leave with a clean and happy smile!
I was born in Mexico and raised in Dallas. My husband Steven and I have two beautiful little girls, Samantha and Sabrina. We recently got a new family member: a super energetic puppy named Roxy. Anytime I am not at work I am with my family. We enjoy going to parks, outdoor activities, and traveling.
We know early dental experiences have a lasting effect on a persons feelings about oral healthcare. The more positive experiences they have, the more comfortable they are in the dental environment, and the more motivated they are to keep their smile clean and healthy.
