Dr. Epakchi is a gentle, caring dentist who uses the most advanced materials & procedures available. He practices comfortable, health-centered dentistry with a strong emphasis on getting to know each of his patients. In addition to his technical proficiency, Dr. Epakchi is a careful listener & will explain beforehand which treatment is best for your individual needs.
Dr. Epakchi graduated from Walt Whitman HS in 1984. After earning his bachelors degree from SUNY Stony Brook in 1988, Dr. Epakchi received his doctorate from Boston University in 1993. He started a practice in Brooklyn, which still is seeing patients today. After he was in Brooklyn, Dr. Epakchi took over a practice in Hicksville in 1997 and Plainview in 1999. Being raised and a current resident of Huntington, he wanted to always practice dentistry in his hometown. He recently sold those practices and has now joined Dr. Berg in Huntington. Dr. Berg & Dr. Epakchis office is now called Smile Huntington.
Dr. Epakchi has always valued the importance of continuing to learn and expand the services being offered at his office. He has taken many continuing education courses, including those from the LVI (Las Vegas Institute)& The Pankey Institute. Dr. Epakchi is a member of the American Dental Association, the Suffolk County Dental Society & the New York State Dental Association. He is also a member of The Academy of General Dentistry, and due to his numerous hours of continuing education, he is eligible to become an FAGD. This will make Dr. Epakchi a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a very prestigious association and level of membership. Had the best experience at Dr. Epakchi's office! The staff was very kind and welcoming, and answered any questions or concerns I had as a new patient. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new dentist!

Best dental office I've ever been too. The staff is excellent. From the receptionist, to the hygienist, and the assistant, everyone is courteous and friendly and just fantastic. Dr. E is very knowledgeable and seems to know his stuff and seems like a genuinely good human being. How many dentist give their personal phone number for after hour emergencies? This is an old school office in terms of connecting with their patients as opposed to the assembly line medical service that is becoming the norm here in America. I had an amazing experience at Smile Huntington! The hygienist who took care of me, Renee, was so sweet and knowledgeable! I left her chair with my teeth feeling cleaner than ever! Dr. E was extremely caring and after just a few minutes of talking to him it is apparent that he really cares about his patients, and he really knows his stuff! I would recommend this place to anyone! They do a great job of making the patient feel cared for and in good hands.

I had a wonderful experience here. All the staff members were extremely accommodative, sympathetic, knowledgeable, thorough and patient. I came in with an emergency toothache and they took me immediately, performed all the tests I required and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend this office for anyone needing routine or immediate dental service.

I will be happy to give Smile Huntington a glowing review. As a person that used to be afraid of the dentist, I am grateful for Dr. E's calming disposition, which help me keep my appointments and not dread my visits. I am grateful for Cindy who is kind, sweet and patient and Rene, what can I say, because of your gentle touch I am able to get my teeth cleaned regularly and even get sleepy while in your chair. What a team, I love you all.

I had terrible tooth pain from a chipped molar. It was causing unbelievable pain and I couldn't sleep/focus at all. Roaring pain that came in waves. I was in a tough spot because it was a weekend. Dr. Epakchi cell # was left on the message at the office in case of emergency. I called him at 9am on Saturday, and he agreed to meet me in 1 hr at his office. Keep in mind the office was closed, and he was off on a sunny day in July. He went out of his way to come in the office and examine the tooth. Unfortunately, there was no quick fix due to infection. He prescribed Antibiotics and instructed me that the tooth could be saved even in a badly chipped state. The pain did not subside right away, but as he said, within 3-4 days the pain was completely gone. I have been to many dentists over the years and the fact that he went out of his way to help a person in terrible pain, and didn't immediately say pull the tooth really stood out to me. I would highly recommend SMILE HUNTINGTON and Dr. Epakchi.
