Dr. Gibbs grew up in nearby Elmhurst where his father was the local orthodontist. He has been married to his wife Catherine, a Glen Ellyn native, for over 30 years now. Dr. Gibbs established his Glen Office in 1978, after first working in downtown Chicago, so they could raise their children in Glen Ellyn. They have two daughtersJessica and Christine. His daughter Jessica proudly has become the fourth generation dentist, recently following his footsteps by graduating the University of Illinois. They enjoy skiing, water sports, tennis, and long walks.

Dr. Gibbs has over 25 years of experience in cosmetic, family sedation, and implant dentistry. He is one of the earliest members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (since 1998), and has had training at some of the most prestigious training institutes such as the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Education, California Implant Institute, Misch International Implant Institute, and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI).

In addition to his studies with the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, Dr. Gibbs has earned certification with Invisalign invisible braces, Lumineer porcelain veneers, and Six Month Smiles short-term braces. These systems offer advanced cosmetic and convenient orthodontic solutions for patients.

He also has earned honorary fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI). The fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry was earned after completing over 500 hours of high level certified continuing education and a rigorous written test. His fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI) was earned after completing coursework at the California Implant Institute, Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Education (LVI), and both the Prosthodontics and Surgical series of studies at the renowned Misch International Implant Institute. Fellowships are earned only after a doctor demonstrates an exhaustive amount of certified continuing education and training, and has passed written examinations verifying his knowledge. He has published numerous articles, primarily in the areas of cosmetic dentistry, dental sedation, and dental implants.

In 2007 Dr. Gibbs achieved another honorary designation by receiving his certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). This, along with substantial advanced education and case submission for peer-reviewed journals, has earned him an additional fellowship in the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (FDOCS). He is one of the very few dental professionals to be trained in dental anesthesiology and is trained to treat phobic patients and patients with disabilities. Fewer than 2% of dentists in Illinois are certified to provide advanced dental sedation for phobic, medically compromised, and handicapped patients.

Dr. Gibbs has been recognized for providing dentistry for inner city families and his work with leadership/vocational training through the Glenbard School District. He and his wife Cathy have been active organizers in the National Childrens Cancer Society helping families cope with the concerns of children with cancer. Recently he has been active with the Give Back a Smile (GBAS) program in conjunction with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. The GBAS program seeks to restore the smile and dental health of victims of domestic violence who would unable to pay for these life-restoring services on their own.

Dr. Gibbs also serves as a mentor in the American Academy of Facial Esthetics training fellow dentists in the use Cosmetic Botox, therapeutic Botox (for tempromandibular joint TMJ pain), and dermal fillers to enhance their abilities in cosmetic dentistry.

We believe she is someone that meets our rigorous criteria of assuring quality and personalized care for our family of patients here in Glen Ellyn. First and foremost, we sought someone with the ability and commitment to provide the highest caliber of care in the most gentle and enthusiastic manner. Secondly, our new dentist needed to have advanced training beyond dental school. We envisioned someone that demonstrates an eagerness to learn and incorporate the latest techniques and procedures. Lastly, our philosophies had to be similar, so that we could assure our patients that they will receive the best possible care from each doctor.

In Dr. Jessica Gibbs we have found just that person. After graduating from the University of Illinois, Dr. Gibbs went on and earned her dental degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. As part of her effort to keep abreast of the leading-edge technology, she is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Illinois Dental Association, American Academy of Sleep Dentistry and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. She has also earned a fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Jessica Gibbs grew up and attended primary school in Glen Ellyn. When not in the office she enjoys to fish, kayak and spend time with her dog, Atlas, an Italian Greyhound.
