Need braces ? Want a better smile ?Look no further. Dr.Chen and his flexibility, professionalism, and genuine care to give you the best smile is what made my experience memorable. A real homey feeling. Let's not forget the orthodontic assistants, they are what makes Smile Doctors like no other. From front desk to treatment coordinator to assistants to Dr. It is one of the best dental offices in the area. So look no further for all your orthodontic needs. They also speak Spanish. Like come on what more can you ask for ? A better smile ? They got you. A 10/10 for me but since this is a Google review five stars.

Dr. Chen and the staff are amazing. I'm autistic and have a special interest in orthodontics, so therefore I've naturally done a lot of research and know a lot about orthodontics, and always want to be informed during every step of the process to ensure that I can have the best aesthetic and functional result. I first realized that I needed orthodontic care at 18 years old, and was referred to Dr. Shafer by my regular dentist and started treatment in the summer of 2021. He was rude and reluctant to answer my questions, and I only saw him for maybe 2 or 3 minutes during the consultation and it just seemed like he only cared about making money. Dissatisfied, later in the summer I went to Dr. Chen for a consultation, and he went out of his way to answer my questions about treatment options, various aspects of my bite, and what movements he would make to achieve a certain aesthetic, etc., staying 15 minutes after close to answer them all. He was also the only one out of three orthodontists I went to for consultations that actually physically looked at my teeth and bite. Throughout treatment he's never failed to educate me and at every appointment he allows me to provide input on what specific aesthetic and functional aspects I value in my treatment. He never demands blind trust from me but I can still most certainly say that I trust him and that he cares about me. I'd recommend him for anyone and everyone looking for orthodontic care, especially those who value being educated and having input in their treatment.

Dr Chen and his staff are awesome! I have three children with orthodontics at Smile Doctors Champaign, and I must say that Dr Chen really, really cares about them and their progress.
