Many patients have reservations or anxieties about dental care. We offer sedation dentistry to give patients a more relaxed experience. Depending on your needs, Dr. Kasimatis may prescribe a relaxant to take prior to your exam, offer nitrous during treatment or have an anesthesiologist perform IV sedation during your visit during more complicated treatment.

A dental implant is a small titanium screw that serves as the replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth. They can be placed in either the upper or lower jaws and can replace single or multiple missing teeth. The titanium material actually fuses with the bone and becomes a good anchor for the replacement tooth.
The process begins with an in-depth examination of your jaw bone and mouth structure. By using cone beam CT scans, Dr. Kasimatis is able to determine whether a patient can safely receive successful results. Small titanium implants posts are placed into the patients jaw bone in place of the natural root. After the surgery, the titanium implants fuse with the bone through a process known as osseointegration.
Smile Designs 101 carries a wide selection of dental implant brands. Each has unique advantages. Dr. Kasimatis works with you to select the best choice and to make the process as seamless as possible. Sedation options include valium, nitrous and IV sedation.

Dr. Kasimatis received his bachelors degree in Biotechnology with a specialty in Microbiology/Genetic Engineering from Rutgers University in 1993. He researched genetic engineering for one year at the Waksman institute in New Brunswick.
Dr. Kasimatis graduated from UMDNJ New Jersey Dental School with a DMD (doctor of medicine in dentistry) degree in 1997. Then he did his General Practice residency at New York Medical College and Coler-Goldwater hospital in New York. Dr. Kasimatis has practiced in New Jersey since 1998. He holds both New York and New Jersey licenses.
Dr. Kasimatis is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Middlesex County Dental Society and New Jersey Dental Association and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
Dr. Nirupama (Niru) Akshinthala is a dentist serving the community of Somerset, NJ with Smile Designs 101. Dr. Akshinthala attended Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where she received her dental degree.
She is a member of the American Dental Association and the New Jersey Dental Association. She speaks English, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada, which makes her accessible to patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
