Depending on your needs, Dr. Kasimatis may prescribe a relaxant to take prior to your exam, offer nitrous during treatment or have an anesthesiologist perform IV sedation during your visit during more complicated treatment.

A dental implant is a small titanium screw that serves as the replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth. They can be placed in either the upper or lower jaws and can replace single or multiple missing teeth. The titanium material actually fuses with the bone and becomes a good anchor for the replacement tooth.
The process begins with an in-depth examination of your jaw bone and mouth structure. By using cone beam CT scans, Dr. Kasimatis is able to determine whether a patient can safely receive successful results. Small titanium implants posts are placed into the patients jaw bone in place of the natural root. After the surgery, the titanium implants fuse with the bone through a process known as osseointegration.
Smile Designs 101 carries a wide selection of dental implant brands. Each has unique advantages. Dr. Kasimatis works with you to select the best choice and to make the process as seamless as possible. Sedation options include valium, nitrous and IV sedation.

Dr. Kasimatis received his bachelors degree in Biotechnology with a specialty in Microbiology/Genetic Engineering from Rutgers University in 1993. He researched genetic engineering for one year at the Waksman institute in New Brunswick.
Dr. Kasimatis graduated from UMDNJ New Jersey Dental School with a DMD (doctor of medicine in dentistry) degree in 1997. Then he did his General Practice residency at New York Medical College and Coler-Goldwater hospital in New York. Dr. Kasimatis has practiced in New Jersey since 1998. He holds both New York and New Jersey licenses.
Dr. Kasimatis is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Middlesex County Dental Society and New Jersey Dental Association and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
Dr. Nirupama (Niru) Akshinthala is a dentist serving the community of Somerset, NJ with Smile Designs 101. Dr. Akshinthala attended Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where she received her dental degree.
She is a member of the American Dental Association and the New Jersey Dental Association. She speaks English, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada, which makes her accessible to patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

I have only been a patient at this office just over a year, I haven't had much work done: several cleanings, I had my partials done, and 2 days ago I stated a root canal, the day after I was in so much pain. I called the office, s/w Tamara who is very polite and patient and extremely helpful, she got me in the same day, Tamara also always works with me because my hours are 9:15am-6:15pm. I initially had to have the tooth extracted, Dr Niru is the ABSOLUTE BEST. Dr. Niru is patient, kind and most of all caring and that means a lot to me. I had little to no pain and was back to work the next day. And I cannot forget her asst Lisa, who's very pleasant. Thank you, Smile Design, but most of all Thank you Dr Niru I highly recommend this office! RS

Horrible service. Had to go back 4 times for a cavity that they couldn't fill properly. Receptionist screw are rude and not accommodating at all. Their hours are not conducive to full time working adults. Would suggest finding another place before coming here.

I highly recommend smile design 101, great front desk ladies (Brenda) who welcome you with a smile and really helpful finding appointment that fit my schedule. Dr Niru is the best always helpful and recommend what it need to be done and what can wait. I've been a patient for more than two years and never had any complains.

SO HAPPY! I was told by another dentist I would need $4000.- of work on two teeth! Dr Nru a sweet young doctor there was no NEED FOR EXTENSIVE. Procedures! She fixed m problem for under $300.-! Honest, ethical dental practice!

First cleaning in about 2 years. Lots to get done even though 15 minutes late. Took me in. My hygienist barely touched my jaw. Previous experience is hand rested heavily on chin. Makes my TMJ much worse for days. NOT HERE! VERY LIGHT TOUCH. Thank you for such an easy and painless experience

Well, I have been a customer of this clinic for many years. Today I couldn't show up because I was under the weather. The lady on call said that I have to pay because I couldn't show up and I didn't inform. In the last one month I think that they had rescheduled my appointment twice because their hygienist didn't show up. This is the first time I am seeing a dentist office didn't offer an alternative date on sick ground. Not worth visiting this place anymore.

Ive been coming here for a few years. I have no complaints. Im treated more than very well. Everyone is great. Im always taken care of very well with little or no pain at all. Ive only had good experiences here Dr. Niru is amazing. She is very professional and always makes me very comfortable. I would recommend this place to everyone. Everyone i have recommended and comes here always leaves happy.
