The communication between the office and the schedulers is non existent. The dentist I was seeing for 20 years retired. I'm afraid of the dentist from a childhood experience and need to be medicated to go to the dentist. My wife goes here and explained my circumstances to the staff and they said we will see him here, he just needs to consult with the dentist first. Great! I called their number and went over my fear and needs in great detail with the scheduler. She gave me the same information as my wife did. Scheduled the appointment for today. I had to leave my office short staffed and drove an hour to be told when I get there that they don't sedate or give you anything. The person who answers your phone is a direct representative of your office. Make sure they know the office policies. Especially something like my issue.

The receptionists are nice people but thats about it. The waiting room is extremely small and always packed. The last 3x we waited more than an hour almost 2. Today we just had a cleaning waited over an hour to see the hygenist and than waited another 20 minutes for the dentist to come in to talk to us. She took a quick look said barely a few words to us (as she looked completely distracted) and just left the room. I think we are going to look for a new dentist!

Last time I was there they told me I needed to pay $300 for a two part deep cleaning and pay to have a cavity filled. I went and got a second opinion because I've always been told my teeth are fine. Went to a new dentist today and they said I do NOT need a filling because I don't have a cavity and I do not need a $300 deep cleaning, just a regular cleaning. Please do not go here, all they want to do is take your $$ they do not care about anything else.

We were looking for a pediatric dentist. I had a pretty good impression upon making the appointment. It's close to where I live. Got to the location, the office is very small and it was packed when I went in which isn't great when you have kids. Felt very cattle call. The staff were very friendly and engaging. The wait time was about average. Xray tech was nice. Then, we got to dentist. Dr. Dorothy Theogene. Not a smiler, seemed very distant. I thought maybe she was just having a bad day and wrote it off to that. She wanted to act like they were doing me a big favor by "allowing" me back with my child. I waa told I would not be permitted at subsequent appointments. (And before you go thinking that I'm a problematic parent, I barely spoke to her and stood by the wall, put of her way). She had a tech inform me of that. I balked. We left. I did not make a follow up because we will not be going back. I realize that this is a common practice in a lot of pediatric dentist's office, but it's not something I'm going to allow with a small child. The dentist also needs to work on her manner with children/parents if she's going to continue in pediatrics.

Technician was friendly, professional, efficient. Good experiencexperience as always. Went again after covid 'pause' - they were very hygienic and careful, felt confident that it was safe. Still friendly, professional and quick/efficient.

I had to transfer from the Riverview office to the Varico office for an insurance network problem but it turned out to be the best move ever for me. Dr Inaba is the most amazing dentist I have ever had. I have had good dental experiences previously. But no one compares to Dr. Inaba. She is so kind and patient with my dental anxiety. She has given me a higher confidence level and her attention to detail is remarkable. Thank you, Dr. Inaba.......you are amazing!

This company promotes false advertising. I researched their website, which said they provide pediatric services and I called this location to ensure they do pediatric services. They assured me they did and scheduled my 9 year old son for a consultation and cleaning. I arrive there, and they take x rays, do the cleaning, and stated he needed to have a filling. Cool. Then the Dentist said that they want to refer my son to different dentist, because they felt he would be more comfortable with the nitro gas. I explained to her my son never used it, nor did he need it, but she insisted. I call they place they refer me to and they do not accept my insurance, and then I called another place that does do it and accepts my insurance, but they informed me that they will have to charge me out of pocket for another exam, because the insurance only offers an exam every 6 months. I call smile design dentistry again, and they said that the dentist won't do it, because she felt "uncomfortable" doing procedures on kids...Well DO NOT ADVERTISE that you do pediatric services!!! This is the biggest scam I've seen, they allow me to have this appointment, to bill my insurance and then say, we can't service you. Do not use this company, they are very dishonest and will take your money. Do not bring your kids here, they false advertise services, they will do the cleaning and tell you to go elsewhere. I had to put a claim in with my insurance, I'm not paying out of pocket for another dentist, because the first is "uncomfortable". Then don't be a dentist and don't take patients you know you can't help. Never again.

The office had to reschedule my appointment and didn't have any openings for almost two months. The office manager heard about my situation and reach out right away and was able to accommodate to my needs. She was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this office, they care about their patients.

I've gone two times for a cleaning and a mouth guard and so far so good. They always answer my calls, attend you fast, have a clean/hygienic place and have modern dental equipment. Didn't give them 5 starts because before switching to Smile Design I used to go to a small dental clinic with not a lot of traffic and my old dentist really took his time to explain everything in detail, show me the x-rays, tell me all the options or possible problems, etc. so I'm used to that. Here you won't get that all the time, they're pretty speedy about their service, which is good, but sometimes you just feel like they're in a rush and want to move to the other patient. You still receive a quality service; it just depends on your preference of the style of service you want. P.S Veronica is such a great employee. So far she is the friendliest person in the clinic!

Called ahead of time to make sure that my insurance would be accepted, they told me that it was, and if they had any other questions they would give me a call. I didn't receive a call, so I kept my appointment and got out of work early to go there. When I got there, the first thing they told me after asking my name was that my insurance is not accepted. The reason I called to talk to them was to make sure that my insurance was good with them. Very very very disappointed. I will never go back.

This place is amazing and the staff are very professional. This dentist has been 5 stars since we started coming here(My Wife and I). With great service, understanding staff and the best dentist this area has to offer. I would recommend this place over and over again.

Honestly, I never had a problem with this place until now. All of my kids have gone here for years. Was billed due to the office staff messing up and having my son come here a couple days before the 6 month mark. Because of this, I received a bill. Now let me say this. I have worked in customer service, healthcare, and call centers for over 10 years. I have been called literally every name in the book. But still kept cool and tried to help the best I could. Now I call for the 2nd and 3rd time today about this bill. I called dentaquest - my insurance about the bill. Bill is not my responsibility. I tell the office manager Natalie that I was told that this is not my responsibility. Natalie could care less about it. I tell her their office effed up. Was immediately hung up on. Call back and said you guys messed up and Natalie again MOCKS me and says "oh no it's messed up." To where I reply would you like me to say effed up again. She hangs up again. I call to file a complaint. Guess who's the supposed "office manager"? NATALIE. & no one else in the office wanted to help. So now, we take it to dentaquest to file a complaint. Because one- I should not be liable for their mistakes. & two- the customer service of a supposed manager who cannot even manage an irate caller/de-escalate is beyond me. You just hang up on everyone? Trust me. I'm finding a new dentist office for my kids because if I go back there. Natalie will definitely need to hide behind closed doors. These people are all about getting a buck while letting their "clients" reap the consequences of THEIR actions. & while I could pay this, it is NOT my fault that they messed up. I pray this place gets shut down.

***Edit*** Gave them a week to respond, no one has contacted us. Surprise surprise! Guess we will have to go in person before contacting licensing boards and state agencies. ***end edit*** Maybe if I leave a review they'll actually call me back, but who knows, my husband may just never get his teeth back. Husband goes in for service. Husband is given a laundry list of things that need to happen, but we are going to start with 3-4 extractions. Husband has castings taken of teeth before extraction. Is told they probably won't be ready by first follow-up, but should be ready for second. Goes to first follow-up, everything looks good. Goes to second, is given a list of work that *must* be done before he gets his teeth back. First we've heard about need other work needing to be done *before* he gets his teeth back. Weird. I call and am told "well, he signed the treatment plan..." yes, in fact. Like many adults who don't understand what that plan is or means, they sign it because they're told to. The fact of the matter is, when I called, we were told his teeth hadn't even been made, so I wonder what else they VERBALLY lied about. And how true it is that he actually signed consent forms to them just, stealing his teeth until he's done thousands of dollars more in treatment. If we don't get a call back and get a resolution, I'll just call licensing boards. consent forms don't mean nearly as much when they aren't informed, and if you tell a patient one thing, and then make up excuses months later, it isn't consent. Billing is *never* accurate, either, but service always seemed worth it. Service itself is generally good, and that's why we've given them so much of it. But this? This is ridiculous.
