The previous manager, Heather, filed may insurance with the wrong insurance company. I got hit with a bill that was $500 on top of the almost $1000 that I had agreed to and already paid. When I disputed, got told to wait to pay until she could figure out the issue and call me back with a resolution. Several similar phone calls and almost a full year later, I get a bill from a collections agency. The new management claims that it is not my fault and they will resolve the issue and contact me (heard that one before!) I will give the new management a chance to resolve the issue and will update this review upon said resolution, though I am doubtful that the 1 star rating will change. Edit: Finally resolved after a few weeks and several lunch breaks spent dealing with this instead of, I dunno, EATING LUNCH?! I was informed that the charges are the leftover balance from 3 separate visits. The first, come to find out from my insurance provider, was $30 over my allowable limit. The second was charged out of network originally (they never told me the new dentist was out of my network, but I digress) which they "adjusted to match the price it would have been if he was in network." I can only go on their word that this was done correctly, since insurance cannot confirm. And the third was $52 over my allowed OOP maximum. If I had not done my own research, they would have OVERCHARGED me by $82 (sketchy sketchy), and even though they removed my balance from collections, just the fact that it was sent in the first place will affect my credit. I regret having ever picked this office and STRONGLY recommend against anyone using Smile Design for their dentistry.

Over charged and last dentist was not as good as the dentist I had 3 years ago at same office. I will not go back and I will re dispute this outlandish bill they sent me after I paid $540 and insurance paid well over 900 bill shows 2 teeth and I had one . Person agreed with me over the phone put it back thru audit and said I still owe $240 dollars. I will dispute it when it goes to collections . Not to mention he burned the whole Inside of my mouth on one visit. Let the numbness wear out after two hours on 1st visit . Said hi and bye on 4th visit. Worst experience I have had I have been going there 5 years and never experienced anything like it. Cancel any appts I have upcoming

The manager Heather beat me out of thousand of dollars I had paid for my dental work up front for everything then she tried to act like she forgot I already paid for my service and tried to charge me again for something I had already paid for I wouldn't recommend anybody to go there some of the worst dental experience I have ever had in my life. There scamming people out of there money. Be very careful and make sure you keep all of your paperwork

Does not allow parents back with children & special needs adults. Was not told this when I made the appointment. Phone calls are often unanswered.

This office is by far the best dentistry I have ever been too. I never get anxiety when I come here! The staff is very kind and courteous and go out of their way to ensure you receive the care you need. They take their jobs very seriously and I've learned so much about oral health and how to improve it just by going here. They really go the extra mile to help you as much as possible. This is a local business and the staff are consistently the same individuals. It's also very cheap!

They hit a ten across the board. I cannot say enough positive things about my entire experience. I am new to the area and am in need of dentures. My teeth were falling out due to radiation and this hit me hard as I am not even 60 years old. The group my insurance gave me to use was useless and I spent two days calling around for a dentist. On my final try before giving up, I called Smile Design. The receptionist was incredibly nice. She told me they accept my Delta Dental insurance and was able to schedule me an appointment for the very next day with the Lakeland, Fl office. What a relief and being she was so kind made it even nicer. I logged into the website and filled out the paperwork online and submitted (all online). When I walked into the office, the receptionist there was just as sweet and friendly. The waiting room had only one other person. I did not wait even ten minutes before they called me in (earlier than my scheduled time). The next incredibly nice woman took my x-ray and as she walked me to the chair, she was professional and talked to me the entire time. Asking questions, taking all my other info and reassuring me. I did not wait five more minutes before Dr. Farahat walked in, all chipper and friendly. He called me by my name, sat and talked to me for a few minutes, making me feel important and put me at total ease. He explained what he would need to do but said he would not do anything until I knew exactly what the costs would be. He left and the assistant came back within a few minutes with a complete itemized statement on all costs of everything. I was nervous because I am on a fixed income but with my insurance, the total cost was just under my budget. Boy was I happy - and thankful they didn't try to "sell" me anything. Then she left to ask if they could start the work this same day and the answer was yes. Dr. Farahat came back to me and after pricking me several times to numb, he pulled my last four teeth and did a shaving of a bone. The whole thing took less than twenty minutes with very little pain. In fact, the only thing that stung was the numbing shots and even that was not too bad. The sutures did not hurt either. Dr. Farahat talked me through the whole procedure, and between the two of them, I stayed calm and at ease. The assistant then explained what I need to do, how long healing will take, and scheduled me while waiting for the bleeding to stop, changing gauze three times the whole while. She was so incredible and nice. At this point, my mouth was stuffed with gauze so communicating was fun. When I went to settle the bill for the day, a third equally as beautiful and sweet lady, handled my insurance efficiently and quickly, took my card to pay and was smiling the whole time, speaking to me and even joking with me. I left this office with the thoughts of how even though Dr. Farahat is young, he reminded me of old time docs who treated their patients with compassion. His office and entire staff is a role model of how all doctors' offices should be. What a great experience all around. I look forward to seeing them all in 30 days. Thank you so much to Dr. Farahat and staff!

Dr. Farahat is awesome! He's very talented at extractions! He took out my upper wisdom tooth in no time. I was so nervous about it, and he told me to just count till 10 and it'd be out.. it was actually out before I even got to 7. He's also very caring about his patients. His passion to make sure patients are happy and satisfied. Thank you so much Dr. Farahat and all smile design Lakeland staff!! :)

Cero stars, be sure to keep all your receipts in hand, they will keep charging you, no matter if you already went and show them that you paid in full. I called, I went, and still charging, threatening and sending letter every week. This time I am going to let them do the whatever credit they want to do, let's see what happens. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL...

Dr. Farahat is the best, he is so friendly and very talented. My front tooth never looked any better. I've been to so many different dentists but he was patient and experienced, took his time With my crown and it looks AMAZING !! Thank you Dr. Farahat and all the smile design team... you've earned a patient for life

I would like to give them another star but i just cant. Dental work was great no issues. But the Heather lady in the front is a total different story . Very forgetful, does not follow through and not at all good with Communication. In current situation with pending charges due to hit my credit that I clearly have paperwork showing what my totals were and Receipts showing exactly what i paid. Said she sent a Pre determination letter into my insurance which never happend which my attorney has since found out after getting paperwork from insurance company .Fast forward 5 months later i received a bill in the mail I now have a overdue balance with 3 late fees attached that Exceeds the bill times 4 that I never knew I had Having to reach out to my attorney all because they can't do there job correctly. Do yourself a favor and just steer clear because you will never get the right answer or a follow through from Heather

The manager named Heather is a very passive aggressive woman.She is flat out rude. When my mother would call she would use the excuse "I'm only one person" to my mother when she was asking questions.It's not like my mother wasn't asking simple questions. She was very passive aggressive towards her When I came into the office with my mother as we were wait she told the same thing to another person.Then when we called again due to a incident and she told my mother that if she can get excused and go do what she needs to do so she can leave. That was so rude because it was 30 minutes before closing.But the rest of the staff is amazing.

Aug. 2021, I have had 4 appointment and one visit that turn into appointment to complete my new cap. This Dr. F has the skill of a ENGINENEER AND THE CAREING to please his customers. God bless their work, He did for me! Check them out for your self. Their staff has a very soft touch. It was getting thing done without any worries and helped with the cost for paying for the services. Future customers please be a ware that they're fake reviews being written, from people that have never be to them. I lived in Lakeland for 12years and the first time I went here was 7 years ago and they were just as great then. That's why I'm back with them! I love there work... * New review from me ! * End of OCT 2021 I had an appointment that changed my feeling about myself....... Your mouth is a picture of how you feel about life. Dr. F skill gave me a new smile that I never had before, 30 years with a parcel plate that never fit right. My old teeth didn't match and fit so my back teeth didn't touch. Very hard to eat and smile. My new teeth matched and fit perfectly. The fitting was so good I haven't need to go back for an adjustment, that why I waited to give a review ..... Dr. F told me if some thing changes call us, and he'll correct it. God bless this office of people that care about you !

I refuse to go back to any smile design ever again. Learn to keep your appointments. I took the day off of work to get stuff done. To have them call me and say they can't do it that day. This is the second time this is happened, mind you two different locations. Why even book me for that day? What the point. Nothing against the doctor or the medical staff. But get your scheduling right.

This location/dentist pretty much summed up why I dislike dentist. Although everyone's experience is bound to be different, I am still human and would have still appreciated a little customer service. I have always been picky with where I go with my teeth. Maybe one dentist is too pricey, and others just don't show passion. I was looking for a local dentist office to become my primary dental physician. I was so looking forward to getting braces etc, but I needed to start with a basic cleaning to move forward. I was hesitant only because I truly hated my teeth. Having someone else check my mouth and only agree on all the bad things that I was already thinking was my biggest fear. It truly is people's vulnerability to sit in that chair. After not only my fear coming true, it was multiple staff members also agreeing and stating opinions that lead me to no longer showing up for my actuall cleaning. I took it elsewhere.. I cried in my car of humiliation. If they'd only ask me what my goal was with my teeth I would've have shared I was working on them and that my plan was to close the spaces in my teeth. All I needed was a cleaning to move forward. I specifically remember one of the staff members take me to do an xray saying "oh! I hadn't noticed your front gap there. (She then taps the gap) I am now in position to scan and remember the feeling of "I cant wait till this is over". She then says, "We definitely need to get that fixed for ya. Not attractive."......Long story short, please consider your words. Although they may mean well, words still hurt. I am now confident in my new and transformed teeth after going to another location that was willing to guide and not judge my process.

(Translated by Google) I am in treatment with them and the truth is the worst nightmare... 10 months ago they did not give me the new invisible orthodontic treatments, how do you put some hooks in the teeth for the retainer, do your job, they are splitting and remain I'm on pointe and my whole mouth is too bad and it draws blood when I speak because it hurts my whole mouth. I call them and beg them to give me an appointment and they call me these things and they say they call me back and never call. The truth is they don't want to help me and apart from the orthodontic treatment it wasn't over. I would give it a 0 (Original) Estoy en yea tratamiento con ellos y la verdad es la peor pesadilla.. hace 10 meses no me entregan los nuevos invisibles del tratamientos de ortodoncia, como le pone unos ganchitos en los dientes para el re tenedor haga su trabajo eso se estan partiendo y quedan en puntas y tengo toda la boca lastima y me saca sangre cuando hablo por que me lastima toda la boca. Los llamo y les suplico que me den una cita y me quien estas cosas y dicen que me vuelven a llamar y nunca llaman. La verdad no me quieren ayudar y a parte el tratamiento de ortodoncia ni se termino. My dentist of many years had just retired and I was in need of a dentist. A friend of mine recommended this office so I decided to give them a try. I made the call with a sore tooth they got me in the same day. The person on the phone was very friendly. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a very warm friendly face.. the young lady asked to fill out some paperwork, and then the doctor would see me. I turned in the paperwork and was promptly taken into a dental room where a wonderful staff member took some info from me and said it would be a few minutes. A short time later the doctor came in to greet me, he was extremely personable once he reviewed my exrays he determined that I had not cracked or hurt the tooth and recommended some over the counter pain meds and come back on 2 weeks for a check up. I never felt any push for extra work I only felt compassion at all times. Im going to start using this office permanently. Great job you guys. Rick
