Born in St. Louis, Dr. Rottjakob earned his bachelor of arts at Saint Mary's and continued his education atUniversity of Texas in San Antonio Dental School. He practiced in Dallas for four years before purchasing his private practice from a retiring dentist in San Jose. The practice has served San Jose patients for about 40 years, and Dr. Rottjakob has been there for more than 30 years.
Dr. Rottjakob is certified in dental implant restorations and has been a member of a local implant study club, ASIRD, for more than ten years. He enjoys restoring patients' full smiles with comfortable implant-supported dentures, bridges, or partials. Dr. Rottjakob can restore immediate load implants, which means patients can leave his office with functioning teeth. Once the implants are fully integrated with bone, in approximately four months, permanent restorations can be placed.
After hours, Dr. Rottjakob and Patti, his wife and our administrative assistant, together enjoy tennis, snow skiing, and traveling. He also enjoys spending time with his two daughters, Nicole and Taylor.
Dr. Nicole Rottjakob, Dr. Steve's daughter, was born and raised in Almaden Valley and went to all of the local schools. She attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and minor in Natural Science. She then went to dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, CA where she graduated in the top 10% of her class and was invited to join Omicron Kappa Upsilon honors society and Tao Kappa Omega honors society.
Dr. Nicole is also certified in dental implant restorations and is a member of the implant study club, ASIRD. She loves to volunteer and is a member of the Santa Clara County Dental Society community service organization. She has served on the board for the Princess Project, a nonprofit organization that provides free prom dresses and accessories to low income teens. Dr. Nicole also mentors high school teenagers who need help navigating the college application process. She enjoys cooking, trying out new restaurants, traveling, and taking her cycling workout classes.

A professional and caring team at Dr. Stephen & Dr. Nicole Rottjakob. I've been a patient for about 30 years and still have him as my dentist even though I live in Reno Nevada. They are skilled at their profession and have a very friendly office staff! I'll keep making the drive!

Dr. Nicole after seeing my x-rays told me that I must do crown on a tooth that had no cavities. She said to prevent future cavities on that tooth they must do a crown. I trusted her and let them do it. On the appointment day for the crown Dr. Stephen did it! And he did crown on a tooth next to the one Dr. Nicole said needs a crown. I was numb during the process and did not realize it until I arrived home. In the next visit to put the crown on, Dr. Nicole said another tooth, which again had no cavities needs a crown. I did not trust her this time. I took the x-rays from their office and asked two other dentists. They said none of these two teeth needed crown. They were both healthy teeth. They staff are super friendly, but the dentists? Well, you heard what happened, I let you judge yourself.

I have been going to Dr. Rottjakob's office for a few years and am always impressed by the service and treatment I receive. Dr. Nicole and Trish are amazing! Highly recommend for anyone new to the area or looking for a new dentist.

I cannot recommend Dr.'s Stephen and Nicole Rottjakob enough. They are professional, attentive and caring. Both are clearly experts at their craft. Watching the rapport they build with patients of all ages - I only wish that I started coming here as a kid so that I wouldn't have been scared to go to the dentist!

I have been a patient of the Rottjakob family for over a decade and could not recommend them more. I will never forget how Dr. Stephen treated me when I needed baby teeth removed as a kid- he walked me through everything step by step, made sure I was comfortable, and treated me with respect. He truly has a gift for providing a safe, communicative environment for all his patents regardless of their age. Dr. Nicole has been a wonderful addition to the practice in recent years. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and consistent. Smile Dentistry makes me look forward to trips to the dentist!

I live in Los Banos California now, it's an hour & a half away from the Rottjakob practice but I still make the trip for all their dental knowledge & to say hi to all of their wonderful staff. I will be 80 years old this coming spring & as long as I'm able to make the trip, they will be my dentist..

Flexible when appointment needs to be changed. Very friendly and caring- Dr called a few days later to check on how my husband was feeling after he had some work done. My 5 year old daughter left her appointment saying 'I like this place. My doctor is nice!'

They have the best hygienists. However Dr Rottjakob can very mean to the kids. He kept on blaming all the problems to the my kids. And last time he asked us to do some treatment on my kids' teeth which costed almost a thousand dollars that will protect my kids' teeth from cavity for at least one year. In less that 3 months, he found cavities in my kids' teeth and again he just simply blamed everything on my kids.

Let me start with saying that I never leave reviews and I absolutely hate the dentist. Every dentist I have ever been to has found something wrong with my mouth and has overcharged me for work they say I need done. Not here. This place is absolutely amazing. They're professional, they care and they point you in the right direction for any additional work.

I've been coming here since I was a kid, about 30 years now! I can't say enough good things about the entire team. Everyone is super personable and I always feel like I'm getting much more care than just my teeth cared for. Every cleaning is very thorough and Trish and Lori are the best all around! I feel like they and Dr. Rottjakob and Dr. Nicole always go above and beyond. The new office is also very spa-like with lots of natural light coming in so each visit is almost like a mini escape from my family life haha.

My family has been going to Dr. Rottjakob for years. We just love this office. Dr. Rottjakob, and now his daughter, Dr. Nicole, are very knowledgeable and so friendly. All of the staff from the front desk to all the hygienists are welcoming and just wonderful. They are great with kids too and I bring my 10yr old grandson here as well. Even though I have moved to the Central Valley, I have stayed with this dentist because the drive is worth the quality care my family gets here.
