Dr. Gan is the founder and owner of Smile Dental Care. She graduated from University of Pennsylvania, School of Dentistry in 1999. Prior to living in the United States, she had been a practicing dentist in China for many years.
Dr. Gan is known for her gentle touch, diligence and precision in providing dental treatments. Her 20 plus years of experience, caring and professional demeanor make patients feel relaxed and comfortable while receiving dental treatment. Dr. Gan's main focus is on comprehensive dental care. She continuously strives to stay abreast of the latest procedures and technologies in the dental field to provide her patients with the highest quality care available. She has attended many advanced implant trainings. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the New Jersey Dental Association.
Dr. Bichara is a Board-certified Periodontist with more than two decades of clinical experience and extensive academic training. He is dedicated to handling the most complex and challenging cases from full mouth rehabilitation with dental implants to rebuilding severely deficient jawbones for function and aesthetics.
He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University in 1992, and went on to earn an MS in oral biology from the University of Louisville in 1997 with specialty certificates in periodontics and dental implant placement. He has also earned prestigious diplomate status from the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Bichara is married to his wife Raghan. They have three children - twins Joel and Tia, and their youngest, Ralph. With his family, Dr. Bichara enjoys traveling and taking outdoor walks. He also loves to play tennis in his spare time.

Dr. Gan is the best dentist I have ever had! It's not just because she had her training in one of the best dental schools in the country (University of Pennsylvania), it's also her perfectionism attitude toward her patients. She individualizes them with best care for each one's specific conditions and she wouldn't compromise even single small detail to cut her high standards. I recently had a root canal and crown by her, she did it perfectly for me! I highly recommend her to all my friends in this area and everyone who reads this post.

I have been seeing Dr. Gan for several years. She is truly a professional who puts patients' concerns as her priority. She doesn't compromise on the little things that could negatively impact the patient in the long run. She has been meticulous about all my dental problems, big or small. She even goes out of her way to provide recommendations that'll benefit the patients according to her professional judgment, courteous and not pushing--highly recommended.

This is first time to visit the Smile Dental Care, Plainsboro, NJ. The Covid -19 measures made me feel comfortable to receive the dental services here. The office is clean. My hygienist Meng is an experienced, caring, patient centered professional. I trust her work. What can be improved? 1) Hope the Smile Dental Care, Plainsboro can first understand patient's needs, then propose several options within the budget. 2) Hope the dentist can be more gentle and caring for exams.

This is the first time I've given such a negative review, and I'm so angry that I have to write this review, i hope that no one else will have the terrible experience I've been through today. I love Dr. Gan, she is a professional dentist. However the receptionist Marina was so rude, arrogant, unprofessional and inconsiderate that I'm not going back. I had an appointment for teeth cleaning at 2pm today, when I was getting ready for cleaning I found out that they changed my hygienist without telling me. So I would like to know why and tell her my needs and advice : If they change the content of the appointment in the future, I hope they can let me know in advance. The result was an arrogant and unreasonable answer from Marina. She said it was because of me, because I didn't tell her in advance that I only accepted the dental hygienist that I had previously made an appointment with. So it was my fault!She said that I had to accept the dentist they arranged for me or I would have to pay $50 for the treatment even if I canceled the appointment! I didn't intend to cancel the appointment, I just wanted to get a reasonable answer and a good attitude before going on to finish today's teeth cleaning project. After all, everyone's time is precious, and no one wants to waste time on a trip for nothing. But it turned out that I got such rude, disrespectful and bad attitude from the receptions Marina, so in the end I had no choice but to cancel today's appointment and refuse to pay for their dereliction of duty, bad faith and bad attitude. I strongly advise everyone to stop going to this dentist's practice unless the receptionist Marina is no longer working here. Because of her bad attitude, I not only wasted a lot of time, but also experienced such a bad experience.

-Best Dentist I Ever Had I moved to Plainsboro in 2016 and Since then I'm seeing Dr. Gan every year. Over the past three years, I had a few root canals, crowns, and filling by her and I was completely satisfied with her work. Hen gentle touch, her expertise and her attitude of not settling for less in terms of treatment really impressed me. She will not talk a lot - You may think initially that you're unaware of what's going on but you would be really able to notice her work by the excellent treatment and care you are getting. I always felt being in safe hands. I also had my dental implant done for my two molars teeth in 2018 by Dr. Eisenstein and I had a good experience there as well. Another thing I really like about Smile Dental care is they are available over the weekends, and the staffs (Especially Dutta, Melanie, and Ben) are highly professional and very friendly. Any questions you have related to changing your appointments or question related to insurance or dental care they always make sure that you get the best service. I will recommend Smile Dental Care and Dr. Lu Gan for your Dental needs.

Whenever I have problems with my teeth, Dr. Gan makes the time to address the issues, and she tends to my teeth with tremendous care. I also love getting my teeth cleaned at Smile Dental Care because they are very precise about cleaning every crevice and surface of every tooth. No other dental office I've been to can compare!

This is the place where they always ask you, the patient, to come in on time, but the problem is that they cannot start work on you on your appointment time. Always huge delays. With more doctors and hygienists from one big major Southern Asia country in this office, be sure you get used to their time system.

I have been seeing Dr. Gan years ago and her clinic has been providing excellent services to me. There were times when my families and I needed urgent treatments and we got timely treatments from them. The nurses and doctors are nice and patient.

Myself and family members have been patients here for many years. I kept them for my dental care even when I moved out of New Jersey. Dr. Gan and Dr. Eisenstein are exceptional. They clearly explain what they are doing at each visits. The compassion and professionalism of the dental hygienists and assistants are above and beyond for their patients. They even have massaging chairs and special glasses to cover your eyes during your cleaning. They truly love and value improving their patient's dental care. You do not get treated as a number here. If you hate going to the dentist then come here.

I've been coming to Smile Dental Care for years for regular checkups and fillings, and Dr. Gan and her staff have always made me feel so at home in their office! I recently went in for a cleaning and asked if it was possible to do some cosmetic work on my teeth, and Dr. van Natta was happy to help. She did an amazing job, and my smile is absolutely perfect now! I highly recommend scheduling an appointment at this practice, they make you feel like family.
