My role as an orthodontist is to diagnose, treatment plan, educate, and lead. It takes carrying out all of these with compassion, confidence, and humility. As a former faculty member at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, I understand the value of educating. I can create the most optimal treatment plan, but it will only succeed if I also educate the person on why and how it will help them. Every person is different and has unique dental, medical, physical, emotional, and lifestyle reasons for needing our help. My job is to put all of the pieces together and comprehensively take care of each patient as if they were my own family.

Dr. Clay Fulks is your Hendersonville, Gallatin, and White House Orthodontist, and he believes in producing the highest quality orthodontic result while establishing a caring relationship with every patient. Orthodontic treatment at Smile Construction is more than braces; when coupled with relationships built in a warm and welcoming environment, it's a life-changing experience.

Dr. Fulks graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Georgia. He then furthered his education in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he graduated in the top three of his class and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine.

Serving as the Vice President of his class his final two years, Dr. Fulks was also honored by Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, and active in multiple research projects in both the dental and orthodontic departments. He also had an opportunity to go on a dental mission trip to Jamaica. This was a very rewarding experience, which helped instill compassion in Dr. Fulks practice philosophy. Dr. Fulks then completed his dental education with a three-year residency in orthodontics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year. At the request of the program director, Dr. Fulks remained on staff at Vanderbilt after completing his residency to help educate and train orthodontic residents.

With the belief that every profession continually evolves, Dr. Fulks understands that it is the respective members duty to pursue continuing education to stay up-to-date on all aspects of their profession. His ability to treat his patients is reflective of his dedication to education, experience, compassion, and desire to never stop improving.

Dr. Fulks is a member of the Tennessee Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Nashville Dental Society, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He is also the Director of the Summit Institute, an interdisciplinary dental study club founded by Dr. Gary Cohen and dedicated to optimizing dental care in Sumner County. Dr. Fulks successfully completed his board examinations and is eligible to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Fulks' wife, Jenny, also graduated from the University of Georgia, where she completed her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia Athens Campus. After they married, Jenny moved to Florida, where Dr. Fulks was in dental school and she worked in the emergency department at Memorial Regional Medical Center. Jenny is currently volunteering for the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels.

Dr. Fulks enjoys golf, hunting, going out on the lake, riding bikes with his kids, and spending time with his family. He and Jenny are blessed with threewonderful children: Jackson, Olivia, and Clayton, and they are members of the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church.A family of dog lovers, they currently have a Cavapoo named Georgia.

I have a degree in business administration and finance and joined the SCO team in 2004. I am responsible for the execution and planning of all financial records and accounting principles, and assist in administrative and clerical duties whenever Im needed. My role allows me to get to know our patients and their families and be a small part of their successful and life-changing orthodontic experience.

I have been married to my lovely wife Tanna for 32 years and we have one son, Bryan, who is scheduled to complete is last year of medical residency in the summer of 2020. We are active in our local church and community, and enjoy spending down time with family and friends especially at the beach!

I graduated from Volunteer State Community College in 1991 and joined the SCO team in 2014. My role here is to make coming to our office a pleasurable and rewarding experience for our patients. I love working alongside a talented and artistic doctor and a group of talented team members who change lives by building self-esteem and creating beautiful smiles on a daily basis.

The compassion Dr. Fulks and the team have for our patients is truly inspiring. Our team has a strong bond and we work together amazingly well. We are all friends inside and outside of the office, which is rare. I can honestly say in my years of experience, this is the best team Ive ever worked with, hands down!

Ive been married since 1992. My husband and I are empty nesters with the exception of our two small dogs who we spoil and treat like our babies. I have three adult children and am hoping for grandchildren one day. I take kickboxing and Ive dabbled in martial arts, and enjoy warm weather to do flower gardening and spend time on the lake and at the pool. Music is a must for me and If you come visit me you will probably find me dancing in my kitchen!

I completed the dental assistant program at Volunteer State Community College in 1998 and joined SCO in 2016. I work with many of our new patients, but I monitor their progress throughout treatment. I love seeing the joy of our patients when they complete treatment and how they have more confidence and self-esteem instantly. It feels so good to change the lives of our patients!

My husband Jeff and I have been married 22 years. We have two amazing grown children, Brandon and Brittany, and two precious and beautiful granddaughters. In my free time, I enjoy exercise, lifting weights, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling my granddaughters!

I began my career as an RDA in 1994 and started my orthodontic journey at SCO in 2017. I love meeting new people and encouraging them towards success as they begin orthodontic treatment. Its important that each person we care for knows that not only are they in excellent hands, but that we genuinely want to make their treatment experience positive, so I do my best to make sure that message comes across.

I studied health sciences during my undergrad career, but started my first full- time position at SCO in 2019. I look forward to meeting our New Patients and their families, getting to know them and their orthodontic expectations. Its a busy job, but I absolutely love what I do! Knowing that I make a difference in someones life literally makes my day, every day. Thats the most rewarding part of my job! I love to help people feel better about themselves and follow along on their smile journey!

I truly believe the amount of chairside manner that Dr. Fulks exudes is irreplaceable. Our office motto is Patients First and he lives that out every day. Its something I admire about him, and I think that has definitely rubbed off on each and every staff member we have on our team, as well!

I am a Nashville native. My husband Mitchell and I are expecting our first baby due in July and we couldnt be more excited! I am a former contestant of the Miss America Organization, and have now taken on the role of Executive Director of the Miss Nashville pageant. My husband and I spend our free time on the lake together in the summer, playing golf, at Preds games, renovating our first home together, and playing with our pet pig, Bentley!

Whether it is being able to bond a bracket on a tooth that weve been making room to bond, before and after surgery cases, or just simply the big smile at the end of the treatment that makes them never want to stop smiling!

I am married to my husband Darrell. We have one daughter named McKenna and are expecting another little one in June. All throughout school I cheered competitive and with my school! I love the sport of cheerleading, as well as roller-skating, which Ive done since I was little.

I have been in the dental field for 16 years and at Smile Construction Orthodontics for two of those. My favorite part is everything! I love getting to witness the transformation of not only someones smile but also their confidence. They come to our office as a person we just met and then leave becoming part of our SCO family!

When I am not at the office, I love spending time with my husband David and our boys Easton and Logan. Being a wife and mother are my greatest accomplishments! In our spare time we like attending sporting events, shopping, vacationing, game nights, spending time with friends and family, and doing as much FUN stuff as possible. We also have two fur babies, Willie and Cooper.

I graduated from Dental Staff School of Tennessee with my RDA license in 2017. Afterward, I joined and was trained by the best here at Smile Construction Orthodontics. Helping people feel confident is the best part of my job. A smile can leave others feeling happy and are more likely to pass on a smile if given one; I love that I can give the confidence of smiling and laughing big!

We wouldnt be Smile Construction without everyone on our team! I say it almost every day but our team is the best. We dont just end our talks at work, we get together in the weekends, volunteer together, and help each other through life. We truly are a family!

I live in Hendersonville, TN with my husband Nick and our boys Gavin and Cole. I cant forget our dog Griffey, who is a chocolate lab/boxer! As a family, we love to do anything outdoors, sports, traveling, and experiencing new things. Life is an adventure!

I have been married to my husband Jason for eight years. I have a son who is currently in boot camp to become a U.S Marine and a stepdaughter who has a one-year-old and one on the way. We also have two dogs! Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and most things outdoors.

I became an SCO team member in 2019, and am excited for my first experience working in orthodontics! The best part of my job is seeing the before and after with braces. I was born and raised in Nashville. I have been married for three years and we have a precious one-year-old little boy named Rhett. We love being outdoors, hunting, working out, and doing toddler things!

I am married with five children: Erica, Jaxson, Madeline, Ava, and Gwendolyn. I am a true animal lover with two dogs, two cats, and a horse, and I enjoy volunteering at the Sumner County Humane Society and Volunteer Equine Advocates as well. In my free time, I like traveling, trying new restaurants, horseback riding, and crafting.
