I graduated in 1991 from the College of Dentistry at the University of Oklahoma. Before that, I was in the United States Air Force serving as a crew member aboard the Boeing E3 AWACS aircraft. I graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1982.
I have taken on a second, and equally passionate, endeavor as a published author! You Deserve A White Smile is my introductory publication that I hope will help readers understand and appreciate some of the intricacies of the dental field and the importance of a clean, healthy smile. With my decades of experience, I have become somewhat of a Subject Matter Expert so I hope my book will be equal measures informative and entertaining.
In it, I chronicle some of the experiences Ive had with patients who waited a very long time to get the care they need either by avoiding care, treatment or by seeing the wrong dentist or provider. You will learn how to choose the best possible provider and what it means when you do. A great doctor and oral health care professional could really change your life and make all the difference in the world.
Dr. Jamila McKinnis Riley is a native of Mobile, AL. She graduated Salutatorian of local High School, Mattie T. Blount, and Summa Cum Laude of Stillman College (Tuscaloosa, AL), receiving a B.S in Biology Degree. Dr. Riley received her D.D.S. from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. While in Dental School, Dr. Riley was inducted into, OKU, a Dental Honors Society, which selects inductees from the top of the graduating dental class. She was a two-sport collegiate athlete! Dr. Riley practiced as a General Dentist in both Franklin, Louisiana, and Atmore, AL prior to relocating back to her hometown. She prides herself in being a very thorough and patient-practitioner. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Rileys passion is giving back to the community and pouring into the youth. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two children. She is very excited to be joining Smile Center and returning to provide care in the community, in which she grew up!
