Dr. Lionel Abitbol has a long history of over 10 years as a practicing dental physician in Brooklyn and New York beginning in 2008 when he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the New York University College of Dentistry. Shortly after completing dental school, Dr. Abitbol began his residency training at the Long Island College Hospital while focusing on orthodontics, oral surgery, and implantology. In addition to regular licensing, Dr. Abitbol continues to take additional courses while also acting as a standing member with the American Dental Association, Alpha Omega, and the International Congress of Implantologists. Dr. Abitbol shares his time working at Smile By Design and Ezra Medical Center in Brooklyn where has practiced for over a decade.
Implant and cosmetic dentistry are some of his specialties, but your visit with Dr. Abitbol might also include a simple filling all the way to a full mouth restoration. Naturally some of the care you need requires more than a gentle touch, but Dr. Abitbol seeks to make sure your visit isnt painful (whether that be physically or financially). Dr. Daniel Ilyaich earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from York College and continued on to earn his doctoral degree from New York University College of Dentistry. He proceeded to pursue his passion to learn advanced skills in dentistry by completing his dental residency at Brooklyn Hospital.
Dr. Ilyaich is a compassionate and dedicated dentist who continuously takes continuing education courses and stays current with the ever-growing technological inventions in the dental field. His primary goal is to provide a painless and relaxed dental experience while creating confident radiant smiles.
In his free time, Dr. Ilyaich loves to spend time with his wife and his two kids. He enjoys to travel with his family, and to build and construct. Dr.Ilyaich truly loves his job and knows how to relate to each patient.
Dr. David Zelig is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He has a Bachelors Degree from the University of Memphis and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, he then completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
He maintained a private practice in Memphis, TN, active in craniofacial and trauma surgery, as well as oral surgery resident education. After returning to NY, he has been active in facial trauma surgery, and major implant surgery. He is an oral surgeon with The Clear Choice Dental Implant Center, as well as the Smile By Design team.
Dr. Zelig is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the New York State Dental Association. In his free time, he enjoys time with family, weightlifting, cycling and guitar.

Dr. Abitbol is an excellent dentist. He's informative about procedures and extremely attentive to his patients comfortability. While a dentist visit is never enjoyable, Dr. Abitbol goes a long way towards making a dentist visit with him, more than tolerable.

Didn't wait too long, in and out for a cleaning about 45-55 mins in total. It's my first time there! They told me I would have a copay up front (very transparent, awesome); waiting area is pretty tight, but didn't really need to use it except to fill out first-time forms. Place looked clean, well-lit, organized; dentist + hygienicist were nice and made an effort to get to know me/small talk. Which was nice, but not necessary haha. That said, I get that that's a thing people appreciate. Oh! I didn't really ask questions except for one at the end, but I think I heard the latter answering questions a different patient had about the equipment and was really friendly/informative in doing so. Receptionist (there were two) was cordial and efficient. Edited August 12, 2022 My most recent time there, I had to update my insurance, which I did when I made an appointment over the phone. The appointment was made a couple of weeks in advance. Gave them the insurance card number, but when I arrived there, the administration said my old insurance was invalid--seems like there isn't very good communication or a good system to update patient information. So they had to call in office to check--they said they didn't take my new insurance, but my insurance portal listed this practice as taking it. Overall wouldn't recommend based on that admin experience.

Dr. Abitbol is a great dentist! The office is very professional and friendly, and somehow make the most uncomfortable procedures into pleasant ones. I'd definitely recommend using this dentist.
