A panorex is an imaging machine in that it is capable of identifying many issues and structures that a normal x-ray cannot. Your chin is placed on a small ledge. Once positioned, the machine will rotate around your entire head taking a full 360 degree view of the teeth, head, sinuses and bones. The ability to view the full structure of your head as a whole is very informative and will allow us to see any potential problems. The panorex allows us to check for specific types of structural problems, infections, asymmetry, etc.
The intraoral scanner is a way to capture the image of your teeth rather than taking an impression. A lot of patients have a very strong gag reflex.Taking digital impressions is more comfortable for patients. It is faster, more accurate, and there's no messy impression material in your mouth.

Dr. Slone was born and raised in Hazard, Kentucky. After graduating with honors from high school she attended the University of Kentucky where she majored in biology. Because of her academic achievement, Dr. Slone was admitted two years early to the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry. She has remained a life long fan of the UK Wildcats.
Upon graduating from Dental School in 1995, Dr. Slone moved to Lilburn, Georgia where she practiced general dentistry. While working in Lilburn she was also a part-time associate professor at the Gwinnett School of Dental Assisting where she taught Oral and Maxillo Facial anatomy. Shortly afterwards, Dr. Slone established her current practice in Duluth where she is a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
Dr. Slone has committed herself to continuing education in dentistry. Both Dr. Slone and her staff regularly attend numerous seminars and lectures in order to stay abreast of the newest dental techniques that are available. This means the highest quality care for all her patients.
On a more personal note... Dr. Slone has been married to her husband Ken since 1998. They have 4 children - Kaleb, Alyssa, Arden, and Kassidy. More than anything else, Dr. Slone and her husband have enjoyed spending time with and participating in numerous activities with their children. These interests have included Boy Scouts, tennis, ice skating, ballet, and many other activities.
Dr. Slone enjoys seeing patients of all ages. Taking into account her practice experience and the experience of raising her own children, Dr. Slone feels that being a mother of 4 has enhanced her compassion and patience even more in treating her patients.
Abby is our Office Manager and Insurance Coordinator. She is a Kentucky native Go Big Blue! She brings over 15 yrs of dental experience and is very passionate about oral health care. She will strive to make sure each visit exceeds your expectations. She has 3 beautiful children and the support of an amazing Fianc. In her free time, she loves playing sports or curling up with a good book and enjoying the company of her feline babies.
Tina is our patient coordinator, and she joins our practice with over 20 years of dental office experience. She is a native of Georgia and grew up in downtown Atlanta. Her passion is helping patients and enjoys working with our awesome team. In her spare time, she loves working out and spending time with her five beautiful grandchildren.
Morganne is our full-time hygienist; a native of Cumming, Georgia and graduating her dental hygiene degree from Lanier Technical College. She very much enjoys dentistry and strives to make patients feel comfortable with her warm and caring personality. On her off time, Morganne spends time with family and her pets. She is an avid animal lover who enjoys hiking and reading.
Sherry is Dr. Slones Dental Assistant. She graduated from her dental assisting program at Dental Staff School in 2012, and her Certification in Dental Assisting Expanded Duties at Gwinnette Technical College in 2014. Besides her main duty of dental assisting, Sherry is cross-trained to help in many other areas of the office and provides support to both the front office as well as the hygiene department. We really dont know what we would do without her. Outside of work, Sherry is the super mom of four and stays very busy with her children and all their activities.
Selenia is one of Dr. Slones dental assistants. She graduated from Pickens High School and decided to pursue a career in the dental field. She graduated from Future Dental Assistants of Atlanta where she learned the skill set to follow her dream. She is very compassionate about what she does and makes sure all of the patients are comfortable and happy when they come into the office. Some of Selenias hobbies are hiking and kayaking. She loves the mountains and spending time with her family and friends.
