Dr. Monica began her career as a dentist in India, where she went through five years of training at Nair Dental College in Mumbai. When she moved to the United States, she pursued her dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by specialization in Orthodontics at Columbia University. On graduation, she worked as an Orthodontist in a private practice in Stamford for a few years before starting Smile Art Orthodontics in Wilton.

Dr. Monica attends meetings and conferences, as well as online continuing education courses throughout the year to keep up with current research and developments in the orthodontic field. Additionally, she has been on the faculty of Columbia University since 2001 as a clinical instructor for the orthodontic residents. Her role as an educator also keeps her up-to-date with the latest technological advances in orthodontics, enabling her to provide the best possible care to her patients and maintain a cutting-edge practice.

Dr. Monica has excelled both academically and clinically throughout her years of training and practice. She graduated with high honors and a GPA of 4.0 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and received the National Board Achievement Award for her outstanding performance on the Dental Boards. I am an orthodontic assistant at Smile Art and I love being part of the process of creating gorgeous smiles! I have been in the Dental assisting field for over five years, and am proud to have achieved my Specialized Orthodontic assistant certification from the AAO, as well as Radiology certification from the Dental Assisting Board. Im constantly learning something new, and love working with our team and patients. I have a big sweet tooth (luckily Im around a dentist most of the time) and in my spare time I love to snowboard, hike, go to the beach and salsa dance!

Hola! My name is Erika, I am a Front Office Coordinator, and a chair side assistant here at Smile Art! I have worked in the dental field for more than 10 years, and am proud to be Radiology Certified as well as a Specialized Orthodontic Assistant. I love to see our patients beautiful shining smiles. My free time is Family Time with my 2 sons (who keep me really busy!), and my husband. I love to shop, and get my hands on all the sweet food possible I look forward to seeing new, old, and current patients everyday!

Dr. Monica is an amazing orthodontist, we all love her, and so will you! Our assistants are certified in infection control, radiology, and additionally are certified as specialized orthodontic assistants.

We feel strongly about giving back to the community and sponsor local sports teams, support schools in the area through donations and help in other charitable causes through community organizations and non-profit groups. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Smile Art donated PPE to health care workers in New York and Connecticut. Some of the charities we have been involved with include The Wilton Education Foundation, Wilton Little League, Value Creators, Autism Speaks, Wilton Young Life, New Canaan Nature Center, Young Womens League of New Canaan.

To start with, anorthodontistis a dentist who has completed a (post-doctoral) graduate program accredited by the American Dental Association in the specialty of orthodontics. To become board certified, an orthodontist has to pass a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations, as well as a comprehensive review of their credentials. The initial process of becoming board certified can take anywhere from five to ten years. Once certified, the current rules require the orthodontist to be recertified every ten years to maintain board certified status. (Orthodontists who were board certified prior to this current recertification mandate, are grandfathered in with lifetime board certification status and do not need to recertify every 10 years).
