She attended the University of Minnesota and graduated in 2010 with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Nawar has completed the level 1 Postgraduate program in Contemporary Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry from the University of Minnesota and continues to broaden her knowledge and has been highly trained in the proper use of the newest dental materials and techniques. Dr. Nawar has provided dentistry to individuals across a full range of population groups and has developed a great appreciation for comprehensive dentistry and the value of compassionate dental care. As a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, Dr. Nawar is now offering injectables such as lip and cheek filler and Botox. She is passionate about helping her patients feel more confident and youthful while staying true to natural beauty. Dr. Carl S. Smetko has been practicing dentistry for 47 years of which the last 38 years have been in a private practice in Santa Ana. Dr. Smetko is known for his advanced dental and cosmetictechniques, and for his continuing education in all aspects of dentistry.
Dr. Smetkos practice philosophy is on esthetic restorative dentistry while the scope of his practicing includes conservative treatments to reconstructions and implants, as well as hygiene and maintenance for all patients.
With his patients, Dr. Smetko is known for his caring and educational approach, his ability to get to know his patients with an emphasis on listening to each patients dental desires, for involving each patient in the development of their own unique treatment plan, and for his customized smile creations that optimize each patients facial bone structure.Dr. Smetko makes sure that both oral health and teeth alignment are optimized before cosmetic work is placed. Dr. Alassy is a Periodontist (specialist in periodontal and implant surgery). He received his Master of Science degree and advanced training in periodontology from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Alassy authored publications in scientific journals with an emphasis on peri-implantitis. Prior to his specialization in periodontics, he practiced general dentistry from 2004 to 2017 and received his Fellowship award from the American Academy of General Dentistry in 2019. His UCLA training in Cosmetic dentistry in 2015 is utilized daily in the surgical procedures he performs.

Dr. Alassy, like many of us at LifeTime Smiles of OC grew up with a sweet tooth so he visited the dental office often as a child. Even though he was terrified of going to every visit, the dentists made him feel so comfortable. Each of his childhood dentists worked very well and he is passionate about comforting all of his patients the same way. Having a son is by far Dr. Alassys greatest accomplishment (which he had little to do with anyway). His son is indeed the apple of his eye. In the past Dr. Alassy identified as a surgeon but now he is most importantly a dad. Exploring new adventures with his wife and son takes all his spare time. They like new hikes and exploring the satisfying southern California beaches. When winter comes, they take advantage of snow activities whenever possible.
