Dr. Smeltzer and his team are absolutely wonderful. From the minute you walk in the office you are welcomed. His team makes you feel very comfortable. Recovery was not bad at all. I got all my wisdom teeth taken out and they had to cut out a piece of the bone. I had no pain after the recovery time. I highly recommend Dr. Smeltzer and his wonderful team.

I was referred to this office from my dentist, who is wonderful, for the removal of 4 impacted wisdom teeth. I arrived at the office on the day of my appointment, and had completely forgotten that I was supposed to arrive 15 minutes early (although I was still on time for my scheduled appointment time). Upon walking in the office, the receptionists shouts out loud "You're late!". As if I wasn't already stressed out. She was very rude as I filled out my paperwork and gave her my payment. When I was taken back, I was talking with the surgical assistant about how stressed out I was and couldn't believe I was late to my appointment (I am usually very on time). She says to me "I assume this is you trying to apologize". I am already very upset, uncomfortable, and nervous for my procedure, and she proceeds to tell me about an awful experience that she has had with my employer. This is the last thing I wanted to hear at the time. Dr. Smeltzer came in extremely rushed and not friendly at all. The nurse who helped with my surgery was the only person in the entire office that helped to ease my anxieties, and she was wonderful. I plan to tell my dentist about my experience when I go in next, and hope they no longer refer patients to this office. I understand the need for them to keep on a schedule, but the bedside manner I encountered at this office was horrendous. Thankfully I never have to go back there again.

I haven't seen a doctor here (yet), but felt the customer service over the phone deserved a good review! I've been trying to schedule an urgent wisdom tooth removal all day, and the scheduler I talked to on the phone, Kyle, was by far the kindest and most helpful out of everyone at the 7+ practices I've called. Thank you for being so nice!

I wasn't going to share what happened to Us but after seeing other reviews I decided that other patients need to know. The surgeon was very good and treated my husband with skill and compassion. The girls at the front desk however were pretty rude and not well trained at all. After being told our Medicare advantage is not covered after being told on the phone that it was I had to run to the bank, move money from the savings to checking so that surgery could go forward. We had to return to an office the next day for the drain to be taken out. In the morning, however, we got a call from the billing office apologizing for what happened and to say that the surgery was covered and has been for a long time. We went back and the girls at the desk never picked up their head. Never said, I'm sorry, we made a mistake. Own your mistake, you are an adult. Surgeons and their surgical staff seem great. The hired hands, not so much.

Don't trust this man. Messed up my surgery, now I will probably deal with the repercussions for the rest of my life

Dr. Frey straight lied to my boyfriend's face that it was against OSHA violations to let me keep my wisdom teeth after. He was very short and seemed like he was trying to rush me out. The rest of the staff was great

The staff was very warm and welcoming. My 11 year old daughter needed some dental work done. I was super nervous because she had never been sedated. The staff went out of their way to make me comfortable with the whole process. They explained everything step by step. Dr. Smeltzer was very personable, great bedside manner. I would definitely recommend this place.

From my greeting at the door to my farewell after surgery I was treated kindly and professionally by the staff and Dr. Masonbrink. I had some anxiety going in and was handled with great care post operation. I appreciate the care I was given and the staff for being able to see patients during the Covid pandemic.

Over a year ago I was charged $250 for a consultation, not a big deal, I need this jaw surgery. Dr. Smeltzer, during the consultation, tells me my insurance is good and the surgery will be covered. Fast forward through a year of braces with an orthodontist, my orthodontist tells me I'm ready to start seeing my surgeon to get the timeline together for surgery. Great! I call to schedule with Smeltzer, am told there is another $250 consultation because my insurance is out of network. I say "What? Why is my insurance out of network? I already paid the consultation fee, you need another one? What does this mean for the surgery?". I'm then informed that my insurance has always been out of network and that no predetermination was ever run. In order to run a predetermination, they want $1000. Yeah, like I'm trusting this guy again. Time to find a new surgeon.
