At SmartDental, it is our goal to provide comprehensive dental services to determine oral health problems of our patients, applying concepts of excellence in services and personalized care to provide solutions with a great value in dentistry while keeping our fees as inexpensive as possible.
Regular hygiene visits are important to help prevent future problems and maintain healthy gums and teeth. We encourage all of our patients to schedule periodic visits every six months or as recommended by your hygienist.
Dr Cortes was born in Cuba. He started showing interest in Dentistry at a very early age. Determined to pursue his dream, he began dental school at Superior Institute of Medical Sciences in Santiago de Cuba, where he graduated as a General Dentist in 1989.
After several years of polishing up his skills and accumulating vast experience working with patients in the dental field; he decided to emigrate to United States looking for more educational opportunities. He was accepted at New York University College of Dentistry where he received the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. Immediately after he completed an extensive and rigorous post graduate program at NYU in Prosthetic and Implant Dentistry.
He has been trained and certified in Invisalign, implant placement and restoration and orthodontic treatment. Through continuing education he is up to date with advanced technology and procedures being used in dentistry today. Dr. Cortes shares his life with his great spouse and two boys, who are his inspiration to work for a better future.
I have been going to this dentist for years and they always do a great job with my teeth and also very professional. I would really recommend this place if your want your teeth cleaned, especially when you are having trouble with your teeth.
It was my first visit. No stress at all. I was happy when I left. Dr. Cortes and his team are very professional. I recommend this place. I am fluent in English, but I feel more confident when I speak Spanish with a doctor (about medical questions.) In this office everybody is bilingual. Thank you!

Dr Cortes and staff (Eddie and -Anna from the Milford office) are wonderful- professional, friendly, skilled , current and accommodating. Whenever an urgent dental need occurs, they will always get an appointment quickly for us. Dr Cortes is very caring .skilled and accredited in multiple areas - ( surgery, root canals, crowns, implants as well as routine care )and we do not have to be referred to other specialty dentist. We are fortunate to have Smart Dental.
