I was born at Womans Hospital and grew up in Prairieville (early years) and Baton Rouge. I graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 1999 after paying my way through college via the Army National Guard, where I served as a combat medic for six years. From there it was off to LSU Dental School in New Orleans, where I graduated in 2003. So, as you can see, Im a local guy through and through, and proud of it.
In my free time I like to mostly spend time with my family, play with my kids, and occasionally sneak in a little tennis. Im a huge LSU sports fan and also enjoy fishing. Recently, Ive begun learning to play the guitar. Wish me luck! Its not as easy as some people make it look. Ill also volunteer with my churchs mobile dental unit and participate in mission trips to third world countries to provide free dental work. I think its important to give something back.
It also meant building an office with amenities to make visits more enjoyable. Check out our Office Pictures, and youll see what I mean. Finally, it meant providing a wide variety of specialized services and doing so at an affordable price. I know that most of my patients dont want to have to go to a specialist in order to have orthodontics/braces, a root canal, or dental implants if they need these procedures. We do just about every general and cosmetic dental procedure you could ever want here in the office. We do them well, and we do them affordably.

I mixed up the times on my appointment and came in on the wrong day and time. They fit me in anyway! The service is always friendly, the doctors are always considerate and kind, and they will give their best effort to make your experience a great one. No one enjoys going to the dentist, but Smart dental care makes me not mind it.

The staff was really nice and answered all my questions. Came in for a filling, found other problems which they were able to give solutions for. If I'm ever in the area and have any dental issues, I'll definitely be coming back here

I love this dental office so much! They truly care about their customers and try and make the whole experience as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. They always seem to have the latest technology and all of the staff are extremely knowledgeable. I will never go to another dentist again!

Dr. J and his staff are awesome!! I will recommend Smart Dental to every one I know. Abbie helped with my cleaning and was very nice and was a pleasure to talk to. She was very helpful, eager to answer my questions amd very good at her job. I wouldn't trust anybody else after this appointment.
