Shay attended Illinois Central College from 2014-2019 where she earned an Associate's degree in Applied Science of Dental Hygiene as well as an Associate's degree in Science for Secondary Education. She has specialized training in laser bacterial reduction, local anesthetic, and in-house whitening. Her favorite part about her job is making patients smile!
In her free time, Shay enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She is currently engaged to her fiance Chris. Together they share a daughter Maisie, two cats, and a dog. They are also expecting twins this coming October!

We know that dental technology plays a big role in the quality of your care, which is why we are always seeking to add new technology to our practice. We already have digital x-rays, lasers, iPads, paperless charting and E4D same-day crown technology, and we will continue to invest so we can provide you with the most advanced care possible.
There are preventative steps you can take to avert some of these issues, such as brushing and flossing regularly to avoid severe mouth pain. But there are also unforeseen accidents that necessitate an emergency exam.

The ladies at this office are awesome from the front desk to the dentist!! My daughter had her 1st tooth pulled here and she was so comfortable with everyone who assisted. I highly recommend this office for anyone looking!

Dr. Roth and her team are AMAZING! Our 4 year old son has been going to her for over a year now. He is a Type One Diabetic and they are so accommodating to his needs. We drive one hour every 6 months and let me tell you it is worth it. Brian our son has never felt so comfortable in a health setting and trust me we are in and out of doctor offices. Highly recommend this pediatric dentist office!l

I was so worried with my 9yr old having dental work done because my own experiences were awful. He was scared going in BUT he is excited to miss school for his next filling. I am so relieved and grateful for the positive experience he had. If you have fear of the dentist (I did) this is the place to change that fear for the next generation. Having an autistic child is hard enough, but finding a dentist office that pays special attention to the details around autism is extremely important. That is exactly what Smalltown Dental Kids did! Every moment of our visit was carefully thought out ahead of time and executed perfectly. As a family they made us feel safe and valued our child's opinion about what was occurring to him. We also have a child with sensory processing disorder and has an oral fixation. They were amazing at understanding how important that oral fixation is to a child with sensory processing disorder and left it up to us to decide when we are ready to break the coping mechanism. This interaction was phenomenal and completely contradicts previous discussions we have had with other professionals. I appreciate their attention to every detail around our family and the special needs for each individual child. We will continue to stay with them for as long as we can! Both my kids left the dentist office excited for the first time in their life. Thank you so much to all the staff!

It was a great 1st experience with my 3 year old. The staff is friendly and welcoming! The hygienist was amazing. She was great with my son! Took the time to show him every tool that she would be using and how it was used! Dr Roth was very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. Highly recommended!

The team at Smalltown Dental was literally amazing with my kiddo's first visit. I'm so glad that I switched to this office. They are out of network for my insurance, but so worth it. They took all the necessary time we needed. Dr. Roth was amazing.

We had an amazing experience at Smalltown Dental. My son (6) is autistic with sensory issues so we haven't been to a dentist yet. I'm so glad a friend told me about them. They were very professional but also they were patient, caring, and compassionate. They made everything clear before it was done, even when it came down to payments. My boy loved it so much and can't wait for his next visit. I'm so thankful we found them!!

My two year old has his first dentist appointment and it went flawlessly! They were so kind and knew exactly what they were doing with such a young child. I felt very comfortable the entire time that my son was in good hands. We will be making them our regular pediatric dentist.

We decided to bring our daughters to Smalltown Dental Kids after having a few bad experiences at a prior peds dentist in Blono. We couldn't be more appreciative of the patience from Dr. Roth and the hygienists! They were extremely calm and supportive of our very nervous kids. This was a big boost of confidence for our girls and expect it will be a huge help with more comfortable visits in the future.
