Drs. Rowley, Ruder, Shavron, Craig, and Anderson understand the need to provide the highest standard of treatment in repairing decayed teeth and maintaining gum health, and feel that an equally important service is to build each childs confidence and trust in this environment. Our doctors lecture locally and nationally on pediatric dentistry and practice management, and are published in several peer-reviewed publications. They maintain membership and are active in several professional organizations, including:

Small to Tall Pediatric Dentistry strives to give the best level of care to each individual child by catering to their specific needs. With a team consisting of both female and male pediatric dentists, Small to Tall Pediatric Dentistry will provide the best pediatric dentist for your child. If your child works better with a female or male pediatric dentist, you can request care from one of three female pediatric dentists or two male pediatric dentists on the team at Small to Tall Pediatric Dentistry. Providing the highest level of care with the best female or male pediatric dentist will create a positive dental experience and will set your child up for a lifetime of healthy oral care.

Dr. Rowley earned his board certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. To maintain his knowledge, Dr. Rowley participates in local dental societies and study clubs. He has served as President for the Washington Academy of Pediatric Dentists Foundation, Evergreen Pediatric Dental Study Club and Grays Harbor Dental Society. He is active in the Thurston Mason Dental Society and is the champion for the Access to Baby Childhood Dentistry program in Thurston County.

Along with his wife, Amy, Dr. Rowley is raising two daughters with interests that vary widely. He supports his daughters involvement in tennis for Olympia High School, violin at Student Orchestras of Greater Olympia (SOGO) and junior rowing at Olympia Area Rowing.

Dr. Rowley longs to be on the water. He learned to sail while living in Boston and is an active member of the Olympia Area Rowing community (where he tries not to embarrass his daughters when they are at the same regatta). He also enjoys boat building. In fact, Dr. Rowley spent six months building a boat so he could ferry his daughters to Boston Harbor Marina for ice cream. He has also found a renewed passion for cycling.

Dr. Rowley has climbed to the top of Mount Rainier and studied wildlife management in Kenya during college. Ask him sometime to tell you about a few of his favorite pranks that he has played on friends.

Dr. Benjamin Ruder grew up in the Puget Sound region, first residing in Seattle and later Bainbridge Island. He travelled east for college and graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY in 2001. Dr. Ruder spent his summers during and after college commercial salmon fishing in Kodiak, AK but ultimately returned to Seattle for four years of study at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. He graduated in 2006 and immediately pursued advanced training in pediatric dentistry at Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. Enduring cold winters and countless bratwurst, Dr. Ruder was excited to return to the PNW in 2008 to join a well-established pediatric dental practice in Olympia working with Drs. Greg Psaltis and Scott Rowley. Helping to further establish the practice under the new name of Small to Tall Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Ruder is proud to see Small to Tall become a leading resource and supporter for pediatric oral health care in the Olympia area and neighboring counties.

Dr. Ruder (or Dr. Ben as he is commonly called upon by the kids) is board certified and a recognized diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He has served as President of the Thurston-Mason County Dental Society and the highly regarded Evergreen Pediatric Dental Study Club. When Dr. Ben isnt counting teeth using animal, princess, or super hero names, he finds interest in providing care for those patients with significant dental or medical complexities, completing laser-assisted tongue-tie correction and other soft tissue surgeries, as well as advocating greater community oral health outreach through coordinated participation with local businesses and organizations.

Dr. Ben is married to his hardworking, funny and devoted wife, Katherine (aka Bug), and together they have three children: Theodore, Beatrix and Graham. For fun outside of Small to Tall, Dr. Ben enjoys engaging in his neighborhood and community, taking family road trips, tinkering on endless projects around the home, and exploring, playing, and camping at their family cabin at Lake Cushman.
