It is the policy of Small Smiles of Reno not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. Small Smiles of Reno has adopted an internal grievance procedure providing for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action prohibited by Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (42 U.S.C. 18116) and its implementing regulations at 45 CFR part 92, issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Section 1557 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability in certain health programs and activities. Section 1557 and its implementing regulations may be examined in the office of Small Smiles of Reno, 3362 S McCarran Blvd, Reno, NV 89502, (775) 329-5437, (775) 829-1553, jose@smallsmilesreno.com, who has been designated to coordinate the efforts of Small Smiles of Reno to comply with Section 1557.

Any person who believes someone has been subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability may file a grievance under this procedure. It is against the law for Small Smiles of Reno to retaliate against anyone who opposes discrimination, files a grievance, or participates in the investigation of a grievance.

The Section 1557 Coordinator (or her/his designee) shall conduct an investigation of the complaint. This investigation may be informal, but it will be thorough, affording all interested persons an opportunity to submit evidence relevant to the complaint. The Section 1557 Coordinator will maintain the files and records of Small Smiles of Reno relating to such grievances. To the extent possible, and in accordance with applicable law, the Section 1557 Coordinator will take appropriate steps to preserve the confidentiality of files and records relating to grievances and will share them only with those who have a need to know.

The Section 1557 Coordinator will issue a written decision on the grievance, based on a preponderance of the evidence, no later than 30 days after its filing, including a notice to the complainant of their right to pursue further administrative or legal remedies.

The person filing the grievance may appeal the decision of the Section 1557 Coordinator by writing to the (Administrator/Chief Executive Officer/Board of Directors/etc.) within 15 days of receiving the Section 1557 Coordinator's decision. The (Administrator/Chief Executive Officer/Board of Directors/etc.) shall issue a written decision in response to the appeal no later than 30 days after its filing.

The availability and use of this grievance procedure does not prevent a person from pursuing other legal or administrative remedies, including filing a complaint of discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability in court or with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights. Small Smiles of Reno will make appropriate arrangements to ensure that individuals with disabilities and individuals with limited English proficiency are provided auxiliary aids and services or language assistance services, respectively, if needed to participate in this grievance process. Such arrangements may include, but are not limited to, providing qualified interpreters, providing taped cassettes of material for individuals with low vision, or assuring a barrier-free location for the proceedings. The Section 1557 Coordinator will be responsible for such arrangements.

Love them! They have Been Gentle With My son since his 1st Cleaning. ...Hes 7 now... We've never waited more then 30mins to be seen.... Things must have changed by reading these reviews......

The staff that actually preforms the dental service in the back of the office are great with the kids and very informative. The front office staff are the problem with this establishment. They are rude/indifferent most of the time.

This is by far the worst Dental facility I have ever been to. Every appointment my wait time is always 1 hour plus. Had to leave to pick up my daughter during appointment Because they took forever to call us back. When they finally did call us back I was told I can't have my other baby in the room. I wouldn't have had to bring her if they didn't take over a hour to call our names. Waited 1.5 hours just to go back for a 3 min teeth cleaning. Do not recommend.

The most unprofessional place in Augusta Ga. they make you wait two hours and I'm waiting room. The front office workers are so rude and unprofessional. Do not bring your kids to the place.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This is the absolute worst dentist's office I've experienced in life. They called me at 3:15 pm to confirm an appointment for the next day. When I called back at 4:40 pm, no one answered the phone. I arrived at the office the next day to be told my appointment was cancelled because they didn't speak to me. The assistant office manager completely lacks empathy and communication skills and never ONCE apologized for the inconvenience. She flat out told me my kids would not be seen and continued helping others as if I didn't exist. I was already looking for a dentist, but this was the last straw. The office is shabby and the attitude of most of the staff is unhelpful. I was told the other appointments for the morning would be cancelled due to a water leak. I see why this office serves mainly Medicaid patients. They are incompetent as a practice.

I called over on 01/13/2020 to ask the the receptionist to fax me over paperwork, since I didnt know that since nothing changed I would need to. She actually huffed and puffed at me and told me that it's just a simple form that my grandmother can simply circle yes or no! She made me so mad first off if she could have read the writing then there would be no reason for me to call! I hope you guys get her whatever she needs so she can lose attitude. My grandmother said she was so rude to her she said she was the pregnant woman in the front. We will be finding a new dentist office. She humiliated my grandmother and that IS NOT OKAY!!
